Dixboro General Store

This is a very large and very beautiful country store. Chock full of unique items and seasonal products/gifts. Room by room, gorgeous things to discover but pricey (in my opinion). Also we did find that the employees were not that friendly. We weren't greeted or acknowledged in any way and I kind of expected that as it seemed like a family type store. We did enjoy browsing all the knick knacks and would come back again to shop around. Worth the stop if you like home decor items- there's tons to choose from!

Gretchen is a reason to come back to the Dixboro General Store. Not that the wonderful product selection and generally lovely energy of the store wasn’t enough but I really appreciated her conversation, assistance and demeanor. I’ve been into the Dixboro General store a few times in the last month getting gifts for Christmas and have had a wonderful experience each time. I have verbally recommended this place to friends and I’ve also shared amongst guests I’ve taken care of while I was waiting/serving down the road at the Dixboro Project(be it clear; there’s no connection of the two establishments, besides the name of the area they’re in).

They change their inventory to my understanding 4 times a year to provide a fun one stop shop to get all of the things you might need to prepare for a new season. Lots of lovely home good items and various items to decorate your space. Love to visit, even though I no longer am working at the restaurant down the road, Rocky and I will still be back to visit the Dixboro General Store and Gretchen!!

We stop by the Dixboro general store during every season. The holidays are fun to shop here for unique, country feeling or State of Michigan gifts, decor & souvenirs. The kids love the old time candy to choose from. If you are looking for something particular just ask the staff, they are friendly every time.

Such a cool home goods store! We especially enjoyed the working player piano!

This is such a wonderful store. Gift shop, home goods, primitives, art, hostess gifts, candles, holiday decorations. They display so many lovely items for home decor and other goodies. I've been visiting for years as a destination. I love shopping really good gift shops and I've seen quite a few but this is the gold standard. The aesthetic is beautiful and they make seasonal updates to their vignettes. I hope they have continued success with this format for many years to come.

I was in the area and stopped in to see what's new at one of my favorite stores. It's always an enjoyable experience to browse DGS for seasonal treasures. There were lovely, inexpensive items for Valentine's Day as well as a nice selection of Michigan themed towels and mugs.

Great store not many stores left like this store. If you have not been there you should stop by. Many great items friendly staff. The store is much bigger than it looks. We try to go each season. They always have great ideas for decorating.

The store has a perfectly cozy, welcoming feel. The staff is incredibly helpful. The store carries a wide variety of home decor, but most impressive is the quality of the items they sell. Plan an hour to meander and enjoy yourself!

If I want a fun day out, I go here. The selection of items is a feast for the eyes, no matter the season. I have found the best gift ideas here as well as beautiful home decorations for me. There is quality furniture, large candle selection, and home accents galore, plus much more! I get happy just thinking about going here.

Got curious one summer day a couple of years back...now I visit 3-4 times a year. If you're into quirky little country stores you'll love it here- especially in the fall! They have a great selection of fragrant candles I enjoy everytime I go. The workers are super sweet and helpful.

I'm not much into home decor, but this place had a lot of really neat stuff. The people were very friendly and managed distancing well. Prices were not bad for a boutique. Great atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Visited this store on a recent visit to Ann Arbor with family. SO cute! My favorite kind of store. Wandered around looking at all the adorable Christmas and decorating stuff, each cuter than the last! But wait...there's an upstairs?! Oh man I was in heaven. Great selection of gifts, candles, Christmas ANYTHING, collectibles, candy, yummy-smelling hand creams, awesome big clocks...just so much to see! I will definitely go back next time I'm in town!
