Otake Sushi Bistro

This is my go to sushi place. I think it strikes the right balance of quality to price. It's good sushi at a reasonable price. Edited to add another photo of one of the entrees with spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls as well as tuna and salmon nigiri. I love this combo!

just ordered takeout and the food is delicious. I’m eating the shrimp fried rice as I review this and it could not be better. Our new favorite sushi place in Newton.

Great sushi bistro for Japanese cuisine lovers. They have multiple Vegetarian options which was surprising but the food was delicious. They also have a great selection of Sake so try them all.

The sushi here is always great. They’ve got some unique rolls that I haven’t seen elsewhere. My favorite is the deep fried spicy tuna avocado maki. Not the healthiest choice but you only live once 😉 (they do have healthier options of course!)

I regularly visit for fine sushi, and other Japanese dishes. They are fast, and the food is high quality. They are generally open more hours than most other Asian restaurants.

Otake was my and my girlfriend's FAVORITE local sushi place for years until we moved away. Don't listen to any of the negative reviews — their food is always delicious and they have great service. Our favorites are the Alaska Maki and the Crazy Maki, but we've enjoyed everything we've tried from their menu! This restaurant is legitimately one of the things we will miss most about living in Newton. Go try it!

A good place to have sushi, especially if you are waiting for the next bus! The best time to order is during the afternoons before 12pm so you can take advantage of their lunch specials. The lunch specials are more cheaper that getting the other individual rolls, and is a nice meal. This includes a small salad with citric dressing I think with ginger, miso soup, and also of course the sushi you choose. I love unagi rolls, so I hope that these get added to the specials. Overall I love the decor and sushi and I would recommend this place to people.

Just happened to find Otake Sushi Bistro on our way home and we were delighted with our experience. The place is small but warm and inviting, the service was perfect (though it was not crowded) but most importantly our entire family loved the meal. Our kids devoured the chicken and tofu teryaki and we thought the sushi was delicious and inventive. We will definitely be back again.

I inadvertently ordered sushime out of straight ignorance and called wondering what it was the staff handled it as well as possible given the language barrier. Though I was not met with a friendly regard but more as a nuisance I'm going to chalk that up to a cultural difference.

I usually do not pay people to make me feel like a nuisance even when I am being one so, I'll not return! I'd like to say but the food is so good I think I'll give it another go and hope for the best.

Despite all that, the food is excellent, and now that I think of it the only reason people work with me is I'm very good at what I do. Competence has it rewards this place deserved another go for certain.

Just ate the whole tray and it was wonderful just what I needed how ever I didn't even know it could be ordered this way.

Sushi was fresh and delicious. I had sushi and rolls. They were good value. The restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere.

GREAT! I have been coming to Otake occasionally since they opened. After my last meal there, on thursday, I decided it was time to write a review. Its a quiet, authentic, sushi bistro with great service and even better sushi. I am not alone either, whenever my father, brother, and I want to grab sushi to catch up, we always come to Otake! The hostess (she may be the manager) remembers us every time. I am very impressed with the growth of this establishment since opening and will definitely spread the word.

I'd recommend the caterpillar maki!

My mom and I had a great time tonight. It was her second birthday in the US, however, we felt we are at home because of warm hospitality that we got at Otake Sushi Bistro. The dishesh are very yummy and fabulous taste. They are realy delicious and the folk who work are very nice and kind. God bless you!

Absolutely the best sushi...period. We have been here 5 times and have yet to be disappointed! Some of my friends are not fans of sushi but they love this place!

Ate there with son and daughter-in-law. Had sushi special, maki, and upon vegetable soup, all delicious as was edemame appetizer and miso soup. Good value.

We found our new weekly sushi spot!! Quiet, clean and the food is super good. We will definitely be coming here once a week 😃

Delicious, well crafted takeout. Got sashimi special and various extra fishies, all very flavorful and fantastic.

Excellent sushi. Great service. The only negative is that the place is very small and the atmosphere is not that exciting.

Great local place with terrific sushi. They also have Ramune soda which makes my 13 year old very happy.
