Don Julio Restaurant

We have been craving for Mexican food since we moved to Boston area and Don Julio did not disappoint! The portions were good and the food was delicious and flavorful! We ordered birria taco combo that came with 3 tacos and a salad and rice. Their steak enchiladas (3) mexicana came with refried beans and rice, was yummy and quite spicy so will definitely recommend if you like spicy food. Will be back for more! But I realized the price on Ubereats are more expensive than if you order directly from their website.

Best burrito I've had in Boston, and it's not particularly close. All the food I've had here has been great. The crunchy tacos are on point, beans are tasty, and the rice is solid. But the reason I keep coming back is the super burrito. Spare ribs, roasted veggies, rice beans, guacamole, and cheese. Sooooo good, and even better with the hot salsa in the side so you can choose your hear level. One thing to note is the veggies aren't constant, so you're not getting the same burrito every time. That's not to say I've ever had a bad burrito here, but there have been times where it's zucchini, etc that don't hit quite the same. Even those times are by far with it.

Delicious and affordable! I got the fried whole fish (tilapia) and my husband got the montenero (fried pork, steak, fried eggs). The fish was one of the best fish! The fried pork was thinner than last time but still good!

So pleasantly surprised with this place, what it lacks in ambiance and atmosphere it more than makes up with quality and taste of food! Got the enchiladas mexicanas (or something like that) and they were honestly the best I’ve had in the States! Proving that sometimes hole-in-the-wall restaurants are the best.

I order lunch from Don Julio multiple times a week and the food is consistently great! I've been impressed with most of the dishes I've ordered.

My only real complaint is that the chips and hot sauce that comes with their burritos is not my favorite. The chips often taste stale and the hot sauce is way too hot for me. La Posada, across the street, has much better chips and salsa, but Don Julio has better burritos.

I'm from Texas (where we take breakfast burritos/tacos very seriously) and after doing an extensive breakfast burrito tour of Boston have concluded that Don Julio is the winner. Their Salvadorean burrito is delicious with a sauce that I can't even describe. I don't live near the restaurant anymore but every few months I make the trek across town just to get this burrito. Highly recommend.

Delicious! Everything was so fresh and flavorful—the tacos, the guac (smoothest and best guac I’ve ever had), the burrito bowl (the veggies & tortilla bowl were really really good), the quesadilla, the rice and beans, the tortilla chips (yass they have the red and green ones mixed in hehe), and oooooo the tres leches cake was the BEST I’ve ever had I highly recommend getting that for after :) I’m definitely going back to try the pupusas and enchiladas and I can’t wait!

This is my favorite hispanic restaurant. I usually get their combo plate with chicken tacos, rice, and beans it is amazing every time. The seasonings are amazing and the flavor is 100% there. I feel like this place deserves more recognition because you can tell their food is made with love and they never mess up my order. Not to mention the portions are big for such a low price. I love this place! Definitely try it if you haven't already.

I order from Don Julio about 1 to 2 times per week. I always get the same thing which is a veggie burrito. In general I love the quality of the vegetables and the taste of the burrito. I have seen other really good dishes for example the quesadilla looks awesome! I would definitely recommend trying Don Julio because of the quality of their ingredients and the flavor of how they bring things together

Small place, but nonetheless among my favorite Mexican food in Somerville/Medford and I've tried many places. Lots of food for the price, amazing flavor, fast service -- tacos and burritos are all so good, highly recommend.

I have no idea what the rest of their menu is like but their hard shell tacos are the best I've ever had in my life, and their guacamole is actually perfect. I just keep ordering the tacos because they're so damn good. The platonic ideal of tacos.

Ordered some tacos here and the taste was superb. The restaurant was very small with only a few seats. I tried the chicken, steak, and fish tacos. All were very delicious and had a good amount of stuff inside. Price was fair as well. This will be my new go to spot for tacos now!

This place is a hidden gem. They have the best veggie tacos in the Boston area and their seasoning is on point! You won’t be disappointed!

We got pupusas, chicken tacos & sides of: platanos + beans. Everything was great, hot, fresh, flavorful! We will be going back to try more.

Just moved to the area and wanted to try out one of the local restaurants. Probably the best burrito I’ve ever had and the price was great. 12/10 this is now my new favorite Mexican restaurant

Love this place! They often take 30 min to make food, but it’s worth the wait. Great horchatas, homemade burrito bowl, Chicken City Broccoli (pasta dish).

The tacos are amazing. I usually get the alpastor taco combo 3 which is fire, but the reason I'm writing this review is for the birria taco combo. It's soooo good and I hope it's a recurring special because I'd order every time. Thinking about ordering again tonight.

Ordered taco combo #1 with beef for Grubhub pickup. Food came out hot and on time. Tacos were stuffed with lots of meat, lettuce, smeared with a little bit of avocado, sprinkled with a little cheese, a few bits of onion. My order only came with salsa picante, which was great but might be bad if you don't like spicy. Their spicy salsa does not play around. Rice and beans were standard.

Umm - wow. Can't wait to be hungry so I can go here again. Got the breakfast and must come back to try the whole fish and some other dishes. Everything was fresh, homemade (at least so seems - even tortillas) and delicious. Delicious papusa. The coffee was amazing as well.
