It's a beautiful state park with several great trails of all levels of difficulty. It also has some ruins (Cornish Estate) to explore & great highpoint views of the west side of the Hudson River.

Beautiful park for hiking right along the eastern bank of the Hudson River. Excellent views of the Hudson, West Point Military Academy, & Bannermen Castle.

We've taken many hikes in the area, particularly up to the Beacon fire tower. Nice effort to get there and back. definitely worth the effort.

I'll be back soon.

Oh my... take a day off from work and come on a weekday so you can feel nature at all his glory. Breathtaking view of the Hudson River and it's surroundings, trails of different difficulties including nice rock climbing with no ropes needed, really a great hike.

Awesome bull hill short look. Super challenging up and a difficult descent. It took us 3 hours total time

Beautiful park with plenty of trails for everyone from short and easy to moderately challenging and miles long. There are a lot of attractions here: gorgeous views of the Hudson River valley, ruins of Cornish Estate, and even lost in the woods dairy farm abandoned in the 1960s.

One of the most stunning views of the Hudson River. Go for it! You will never regret.

This is for breakneck ridge Always beautiful here, definitely a challenge could be scary for inexperienced hikers , but yet if determined any one can do it. Many improvements along the back trails huge thanks to the care takers. Use your Google maps to see trails, don't be stupid bring water and snacks and good shoes!!!! The front rock scrambles keep heading left for easier climbing, amazing views. Awesome workout!!!

Spectacular views. There are several routes from easy to strenuous. We decided to take the Bull Hill short loop which is 4.5 miles. It’s a serious total body workout; strenuous, steep with many rocks. I can’t stress enough the importance to bring plenty of water and food for this type of hike. And a good pair of hiking shoes a must. Parking can be a challenge on weekends so try to arrive early. On another note, Cold Springs’ Main Street is beautiful with lots of shops and restaurants. Simply delightful!

Beautiful hike on the Little Stony Point trail. Parked across the street which takes you on a hike for 2-3 hours. Great markings showing the path. Beware of ticks!

This is truly a challenging trail. The reward however is worth it. Amazing view, and watching cargo trains wrap around a mountain on the other side...birds calls and more... priceless! The 'one way' up the rock trail is severe, daunting, challenging and exhilarating... Elevation of ~650ft.

It's an unbelievably cool place.

If you can hike by Washburn Trail you will not be disappointed. It is not easy but the view is stunning.  I just hiked less than half the length of the trail and was very happy with the view and peaceful environment.

Pretty easy to access from Cold Spring train station if you come by train.

I will definitely come back and will spend more time there.

Slightly muddy this week and probably more so after Tuesday, but the trail work on Bull Hill has been awesome! They skirt you around some of the most muddy spots and the views are killer!

7/23/23- a lot of washout and some muddy spots from the storms...but the trail just keeps on improving! Every time I go it gets better!

A lot of different hiking options ranging from an hour to many many hours. Anyone can find some hike that is for them. Will probably look even nicer in a couple of weeks when the leaves become more colorful, but you can already see some leaves turning yellow and red. Great views.

Transportation:
Take Metro-North from grand central to Cold Spring town. Round trip off peak: $30. 1.5 hr each way.

View:
I took the short loop of Blue Hill trail. Hard core at beginning but very easy on the way down. The view was breathtaking. Highly recommend.

Food:
Plenty of restaurants to choose from on the Main Street. No reservation needed.

Great trails which range from intermediate to expert level of hiking. If you are not in shape; you will struggle. Make sure you are prepared by bring enough water and wearing proper attire. Be aware of your surroundings and enjoy a lovely hike with your family/friends. The hikes are higher risk but the reward is higher. The view on top of each summit provide a unique quality of the landscape. Challenge yourself and immerse yourself with nature! Be safe out there!!!

We did the Bull hill trail. It is a long and steep trail. The path gets more narrow and Stony as you go up. We couldn't finish the trail as we had our 7 year old with us. You have various look out points of the Hudson river on the trail. This trail does not disappoint. Our kid really enjoyed it. Bring your binoculars and hiking sticks if hiking is new to you.

Hiked the Bull Hill short loop over Memorial Day weekend. As expected, the trail was popular but other hikers were respectful of the park, and each other. Loved the many viewpoints, overlooking Cold Spring, Westpoint, and the Hudson. Not too many bugs yet, either!

Great place to hike. Various levels of paths available. The hike to the top is most definitely worth it. The view is breathtaking - on a good day you can see from the Catskills to NYC.

You can only access the parking lot from route 9W North bound and it is only shown as a parking area, I didn't see signs for Storm King Mountain trail. Area is nice. If you go on the trail clockwise and head up the left side of the loop first you will encounter the steepest climb right away. Not unmanageable but some people do better on steep climbs going up and others are better coming down. Trail is fairly well marked but I'd highly recommend something along the lines of Alltrails or similar product. The views from the northern looking viewing area at the far end of the trail just past the peak of Storm King mountain and the east and south looking view point are the best views in my opinion. It was not busy when I was there July 2nd. There are no Porta potties on-site.
