Lots of parking on weekday early mornings and on the weekends. Driving to this station and taking the T is an easy and low stress way to get into Boston.

This is a green line station at the outskirts of the reaches of Boston's T or train system. I have lived around Boston in several places over the years and use this station as an alternative to driving into the city. The available parking is plentiful, although I speak of this for the weekends; the lots tend to fill on weekdays and may require arriving early to guarantee a spot. The station is reasonably well lit and I have always felt okay using this lot even when traveling solo, with the usual precautions of being alert and aware of surroundings. The green line splits, and this is at one end. It means trains 🚆 are less frequent than they are in the merged portion downtown, and returning you need to be sure to catch the correct train, namely the Riverside one. The train service is otherwise pretty typical of what one would expect from a subway system. I find the line safe and efficient.

Alternatives to consider are driving into the city. The issue is parking is scarce and very expensive, and you may not be able to park near your destination. I find the train removes this hassle. Also driving out from the station avoids dealing with the Mass Pike as I do not like highway driving snd traffic jams. Certainly during the week at rush hour trains are much faster; I regularly walked faster than traffic on Storrow Drive on week days.

The other option to consider is the commutervtrains. They run less frequently but on a fixed schedule so you know when to expect to arrive. You can also take them from many of the suburbs. During the week many run quite frequently. The parking can be scarce and require arriving early, and some spaces may be permit only for those in the respective towns, especially on weekdays. I used the commuter trains for about 2 years, from two different towns, and found it was a good choice for someone working in the city without designated parking or who does not like driving in the dense city traffic.

Overall, I find Riverside to be my go to station for weekend day trips into Boston. I can drive there at my leisure, avoid city traffic, and find a parking place at a lot where I feel safe walking to my car alone even after dark. Trains are frequent enough that the wait isn't too long any day and the ride is pleasant, convenient, safe and affordable. On weekdays I prefer the commuter line because it's closer to home and faster than driving in the traffic even though its more expensive. If I lived on the T lines I would use the T all the time, and Riverside offers many parking spaces and a pretty safe environment.

Coming from CT, parking at Riverside and taking the T into Boston is the perfect solution to avoid driving into and trying to find parking in the city.

Sep2022:5⭐: I had to park here as a result of going into the city. I found it. This parking lot is suitable for large crew cab pickup trucks and campers. There was Apple parking for both my crew cab pickup and my small trailer. The location was ideal just off the side of the freeway and I was able to roll my car off and visit locally in addition to taking the train.

Used the parking lot as a stepping stone to get in/out of Boston and Cambridge. We left the car here after driving in from Maine. Easy access to the highway and it was a breeze to find parking mid day on a Friday afternoon! Safe reliable and convenient

Over the years this has been
a reasonably priced and pleasant experience. The parking lot and station are easily navigated. The staff are very helpful if you need them. The daily fee is around seven dollars at time of this review 2022.

It's a parking lot, so not sure why I'm rating it...
Easy transport in and out of Boston without the car.

I mean, I'm not sure how much I can say about a parking lot. It's a spot for my car. The rates are reasonable. It's easy to get to. You register your car in the phone app, and then pay with the phone app when you're ready to pick up your car. We were able to get an Uber to pick us up here to take us to the airport at 3AM in about 15 minutes. If it was a different time I'm sure the train/subway would have been pleasant too.

Parked car there so we don't drive in Boston and rather take the train. Parked at the far end, but there was plenty of space available. 6$ per day is also a very reasonnable price.

A convenient and cheap place to park a car and head into the city via the D line. Accessible via route 9, route 30, as well as major thoroughfares. The big selling point for me is the $6 weekday rate and $3 weekend rate for parking. If you live out in the MetroWest county area or just outside of Boston and you're using your car to get into the city, this is a nice alternative to trying to find parking in the city and paying quite a bit of money for a couple of hours of parking. I would definitely encourage more people to try and take the d-line into Boston if they have the opportunity to.

First time using this lot for the T. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of parking on a weekend that was still available when I got there at 3pm.

Huge parking lot, tons and tons of space. It’s $6 a day on weekdays and $3 a day on weekends. It felt very safe and spacious. We parked for 3 nights and had no issues at all.

Best place to park and take the T into Boston to watch the awesome Boston Red Sox! Cheap parking and inexpensive fare. Why pay $50 to park by the ball park when it's only $6 and $5 per person for round trip on the train. No traffic to contend with either. Gets you down the road and on your way. I love using it. I just used it today. I am at Fenway. GO SOX!

Good parking, PLENTY of parking.

Easy to navigate, just go up the stairs where the station is, and there is the green line.

Can't complain.
