Freshly baked bread - toasted to perfection.
Incredibly seasoned home fries - cooked w/ perfect crisp. Bacon. Perfect crisp. Awesome friendly environment, owner is the chef and was running the place by himself. Excellent service.

I absolutely love this place. Excellent food but more economical than most of the other local haunts. The lentil soup is phenomenal and the paninis are delicious. They also make their cookies from scratch. The best part of this place is that it’s not a chain. The original owners run it every day from M-F 8a-7p and Sat 8a-6p. They work hard and are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Best kept secret near Brandeis!

I have had the best chicken pesto sandwich here. It’s so good that every time I go, I don’t even see the other options and just go ahead and order it. The owners are extremely friendly and kind. Great conversation with them every time I visit. As a student, they give you a sandwich card. After 10 sandwiches you get a free sandwich of your choice. It’s the best cafe in Waltham.

Incredible sandwiches, try the pesto chicken sandwich for sure! Great place for a quick lunch around Brandeis University! Good environment to sit and work too.

The owners are so cute and super sweet! They opened up 15 mins early for me to grab a bagel while I was in a rush. Came back a few hours later for a tuna melt and it was amazing!

Always like going here. The white bread is really delicious, always crispy crust with soft inside. The hot peppers and sort of pickle relish stuff you can get on the sandwich are really good. Not a huge menu, but what they do they do well. Maybe slightly pricey, but I'm totally willing to pay a little more for something local and good.

South Street Cafe is officially OPEN again! The staff is very kind and working hard to sanitize everything frequently between customer visits. They even put up plastic barriers across the entire counter space! I felt very comfortable coming here for my lunch and coffee. The hours are a bit different now, so make sure to check out the new sign in front of the door. This cafe has a very nice selection of sandwiches, soups, bakery sweets, and beverages/coffee. Be sure to stop by to support this local business during hard times!

A great sandwich shop located near the Brandeis train station. It has a good selection of sandwiches that you can customize and they usually have 3-4 different types of hot soups. It's only a few minutes away from the campus and is worth the walk.
