I noticed walking that they allowed dogs with an inviting bowl of water and some treats outside. Naturally, I said yes I will come and sit outside in the lovely garden to enjoy a glass of wine. We ordered the artisan cheese board and the wine flights while the pup enjoyed some iced water and also some cheese :-)

Jacob was such a great host and was very attentive to all of our needs and took time to explain the menu. He was also very cognizant of it being a hot day and providing us with prompt ice and water.

We came here for an early dinner and had a great time! They gave some great happy hour deals ($2 off wine by the glass, good small plates). Service was very helpful and friendly. The back patio is a little hidden gem that you wouldn't know existed unless you went into the restaurant. We enjoyed a great wine tasting, along with some wonderful cheese and crostini. We then had shrimp tacos and the chicken pita, both very good. Finally we split the red wine brownie, which was flavorful and soft of the inside. Absolutely recommend coming in for a glass of vino and some plates right in old town.

A pleasant, comfortable wine place and restaurant. The wine is excellent, and the food is very good. They have a few beers, but if you're coming here, I'd recommend the wine. The outdoor seating is a good option if the weather is pleasant. I had the wine flight, which was reasonably priced with a nice selection of quality wines. The eggs Benedict were quite good, and the roast potatoes were excellent. A bit pricy but high quality.

Did their wine tasting (4, 2 oz pours) and ordered a cheese board. The wines were tasty and the cheeseboard was perfect for 2 people. Sat on the quiet back patio and loved it. Will be back soon!

I love this little gem. The GM is just a jewel. It was my second lunch visit there. Jacob treats guests like royalty. My companion asked a lot of questions regarding wines and spirits. Jacob was patient and extremely knowledgeable. I'll be back very soon. Thank you for a lunch to remember.

Absolutely delicious meat and cheese plate, mushroom risotto, and brussel sprouts. Everything was a little spendy but was a great splurge meal.

Great restaurant in the heart of Old Town Alexandria on King Street. The bar area downstairs is great for wine tasting, while upstairs is perfect for fine dining.
Sasha was our waiter: he was funny and informative. The food was fantastic, as they have a number of options for vegetarians. My only comment is that the butternut squash soup is a little bland, and missing some body. Otherwise everything was perfect. Would definitely return.

This is a cute wine bar and restaurant. The food was delicious and the back patio is quiet and pretty. The wine selection was decent but we wish they would have had more wines that were actually from California and Sonoma. Service was fast and friendly early on Saturday evening. Ordered the salmon, carne asada tacos, beef stroganoff, and Asian lettuce wraps. All good reviews except we wouldn’t recommend the lettuce wraps as it was really just ground turkey and lettuce, and about 8 tiny pepper slices, so that could have used more. Overall it’s a great place. It would be nice if you could create your own wine flights as opposed to using the preselected options. We were big fans of the Gewurzterminer from the finger lakes though!

I went here with my good friend and we enjoyed it. The wine was good and definitely left feeling great. The food was great I had the vegetarian pasta and she had a burger.

Absolutely lovely experience. Our charming waiter was the manager and the service was excellent. The food was just delicious, fresh and presented beautifully. 100% will go again.

Really great place in Old Town Alexandria. Seems to be undiscovered. In a charming old row house building, it has a nice bar area as you enter, lots of blonde wood.

Food was great and of course, interesting wines by the glass and bottle, and no sign of the usual JLohr, etc bar brands you see in most places (for outrageous prices!).

Outdoor patio looked nice out back and there was an upstairs 2nd level that I didn't see. I had a nice window seat for two adjacent to the bar.

Service was excellent. Was not crowded, but not empty on a Satriday night. Nice vibe and attractive crowd.

We're both wine lovers and she suggested this restaurant to meet for dinner.
I thought by the entrance this place was small but I was guided outside where my friend was already seated.
The menu was viewed through scanning, the new normal of course, and the options were amazing.
Our waiter Diego, helped us pick a bottle from the Master Wine List by asking us key questions a wine consumer would appreciate such as:
1. What varietal are you interested in?
2. Are you looking for something earthy or fruit forward?
Those were just a few questions he asked us and suggested the perfect Pinot Noir we had the opportunity to enjoy!
We also started with the trio and crostini to start, when it came to our main course I wanted the hanger steak and my friend couldn't decide between the short ribs or the macaroni and cheese.
He suggested the macaroni and cheese because the truffles pair well with the Pinot Noir we were enjoying.
My friend and I appreciated such detail.
We enjoyed our meal by the fire and decided we should come back with dates because it has such a wonderful ambience to it as well.
I cant wait to come back.

Met up with my girlfriend for a late bday celebration. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic! Customer service was wonderful. I also enjoyed the mango mimosas

Had a quick glass of wine here. Bar was nice bright and clean. Good crowd. They had food too but I didn’t partake. They let me try 3 wines before I had a glass.

Sonoma Cellar’s staff are family to me. Their rotating wine list is always carefully procured and always good, and the food complements the wine to a T. You can taste wines at the bar if you aren’t sure, and you’ll always learn from the bartenders.
For more in depth learning, monthly wine tastings bring detail to specific wine regions and styles, and it’s always a fun time.
While the weather is good, arrive early to sit outside, or stay inside when there is live music, or just to chat with the friendly staff and patrons. Everything works at Sonoma cellar, so head in to relax like I do.

Absolutely love this place. Their wine flight and burgers are a must have!! Highly recommend.

My aunt and I came here for lunch. Had a flight of wine and delish food! Great environment, friendly staff!

The macaroni was delicious!! So so good. The white ones that we had were good but would definitely suggest getting the reds instead.

Sonoma Cellar was amazing! I didn't go inside, but the courtyard had seating, with stringed lights, trees and other plants. They allowed my dog and brought him water. The food and wine was great. Our waiter (Bouziane) was excellent! The service was attentive, but not overbearing. I'd definitely return sometime soon.

Very enjoyable visit and concept. Charcuterie and wine boards paired well. Salmon/risotto and whitefish tacos were very tasty. Prompt and engaging service - thanks, Jen ! We will be back
