BRUT Champagne & Wine Bar

Very amazing atmosphere, friendly staff and friendly patrons. Even when they are busy the staff manages to keep up. Champagne and wine are great! The small plates are perfect size for a snack while having a few drinks.

Amazing wine and a super knowledgeable owner who is more than happy to talk wine and make suggestions. The people here make you feel welcome the second you come in. If you’d rather keep to yourself, that’s fine too. But I’ve never been somewhere that people just organically strike up conversations with others at the bar. All the time.

Great little wine bar tucked away in Old Town. The small plates were delicious and the wine was excellent. The service was speedy and everyone was super nice.

Cozy little spot for a glass or bottle of wine. Did not get a chance to sample their food, but I'm sure it would not disappoint given the quality of service and the freshness of the wines by the glass. Price is about what you'd expect for a decent glass/bottle in Old Town. Will likely be returning.

Every time we go we have a great experience. It's such a delightful little wine bar. If the owner happens to be free to chat, get some really fun experiences to talk about.

Truly a hidden gem is what they call it! Laid back atmosphere, and great selection of wines. Had a foie gras and selection of cheese. Enjoyed immensely, looking forward to be back.

The only place in town the get great Champagne (and other wines) by the glass. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, unique retail wine selection, and tasty food menu are the other great appeals to BRUT Wine Bar!

Hidden gem! Small wine bar with a few outside tables. The wines, cheese plate and foie gras were all delicious - the owner was so attentive despite it being a busy night and offered excellent recommendations on food and drinks.

Went to this little gem with dear friends and we quickly compared it to some great off the beaten path enotecas in Rome. Small, quirky, cozy and AMAZINGLY well stocked. The space is small, and uses EVERY inch to advertise and entice you to try their amazing variety of wines and champagnes. CHAMPAGNES people. Don't make my almost unforgiveable mistake of wondering if there was any prosecco around... there is not. I am grateful not to have been booted!
The service was just right, the food was adapted for my vegan diet, and also perfect for my friends. The drink? OMG the DRINK!!! A wonderful Mousseux Champagne I am committed to finding again.
I no longer live in that area, but WHEN I am back there I'll make it my business to go there.
NOTE - Beware street parking in Old Town, ugh!

It is more of a wine bar, but I stepped in for a coffee. Triple nut caramel cluster is highly recommended- gooey caramel and tons of crunchy nuts covered in thick chocolate layer. Good coffee, but they only have one or two kinds

We have lived in old town for 5 years and have tried nearly all the local spots and this is hands down our favorite place and our most visited spot. The wine, service and food options are consistently incredible. Whenever we have out of town visitors we are sure to take them here because it’s a crowd pleaser! You can’t go wrong!

We love sitting outside. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and a great host. His recommendations for champagne flights and cheese pairings are on point. Always a great experience.

By far the best champagne and wine bar in the DC area. It’s cozy, friendly, and the menu is delicious. The wine and champagne offerings are fantastic and the staff recs are always spot on. I cannot say enough good things about Brut.

I absolutely love Brut. We are regular customers - from DC - and always have such a nice time. The staff is personable and accommodating … and the food is incredible. I would highly recommended to anyone visiting Old Town.

I am a regular at Brüt and I love this place. The service is great, the food is delicious and I always have a fabulous time when I am here. Absolutely recommend for anyone who is looking for a great wine and champagne bar.

Wonderful champagne, ambiance, and good people!

Fantastic place! Went there with my wife on a date night. She knew what she wanted and had a glass of champagne, I wasn't sure and was given multiple tastings and explanations of different dry red wines. The owner (?) was super nice and helpful. Neither of us is very knowledgeable about wine, but he taught us a ton and really made it fun. After her first glass, my wife wanted to switch to something else, after she ordered, he brought her just a taste of what she had asked for and a taste of something different that he recommended. Great recommendation and she switched her order. We also had the cheese plate and it was way more food than we expected. Paired great with the wine and cheese though. Would highly recommend and am looking forward to going back. Only suggestion: we got there early and were the only customers. By the time we left, it was filling up. It is very small and cozy, but I would recommend trying to avoid busy times.

Brut is perfect. It has a wonderful variety of champagnes, wines, and beers and these are reasons enough to return again and again. But once you add the amazing menu of food and cheese, you don’t want to leave. We’ve tried everything on the menu and never regretted a single order. Brut is good in all types of weather, for enjoying a glass of wine, and for bringing anyone when asked “what’s your favorite place in Old Town.”

Fantastic little spot off the beaten path and well known to locals. We love coming here often. While the variety of wines and champagne take center stage, don't sleep on the food. Everything we have tried has been perfection - and they even offer gluten free variations. A great place for a romantic night, or to take out of town guests to show off the cute locals spots. The owner is friendly, welcoming, and very attentive.
