Parkway Church on the Mountain

I was exceptionally impressed although this is not the church for me. I have since revised this from my original post May 2023 for more clarity. Unknowingly to me there was another Parkway Church that is non denominational less then a mile away. That really is my reason that I did not stay. I don't want an affiliation with a denomination. Sadly, 5 months later after summer I found out that I was at the wrong church.Who would think that there were 2 Parkway Churches. Nonetheless, the Pastor(s) there are ALL wonderful. They are true to The Bible and preach really well. The music ministry is also AMAZING! I did attempt a Bible Study but that's when I realized I really needed to find a different place. That was not for me and I know that they have other groups that I could go to and I certainly may. Parkway Church is certainly part of a great community affiliated with the Wesleyan Church.

Previous additional comments from my review May 2023: I travel a lot and I go to a lot of churches. I try to read reviews and see about catching a pastor during his sermon on YouTube. Today they had a big event outside. It was their block party, they had lots of food, games and they had baptisms today. Everything that has been said in all of the reviews here on Google, matches what you will experience at Parkway. The message delivered was great, the people that are serving are phenomenal, they know what community is and want to share that with us. I think I finally found my home! I moved here almost 2 months ago and it has been a rough journey trying to find the right church, the right music ministry (wow!) and what matches God's messages from the Bible to life itself. If you're seeking a church I would highly recommend you stopping in. Everything is as true as what you are reading!

Beautiful church inside and outside. It was eadu to get around. I love how the profits from cafe goes to missions.

This church is the best church I've ever been in. It has a place where you can buy coffee, water and I don't know what else

It is a great church. They help out not only the community , but also other countries. They help minister in a way that is comfortable for you so you can grow in your relationship with Christ. They have good children's program, and youth program. The music is a bit on the loud side when it come to worship but it is up beat. We love it and so does our kids.Come join us

Visited on New Year's Day. We were from out of town (Nebraska).
Door greeter was so super friendly! He introduced us to one of the pastors who in turn took time with us! Very genuine.
Lead pastors sermon was very informative and well presented.
Only complaint was not a single person in the seats acknowledged our presence.

This Church on the Mountain is absolutely beautiful! When you go there the atmosphere is soo nice and quiet, and very pretty overlooking the N.E. part of the city! At night there's a great view of all the lights. I like to go there on July 4th to see the fireworks that ppl put off. Very peaceful here!

They hold a bunch of fun evens for the kids here. Very nice view. My son loved the preschool program they have here.

People are super welcoming! Music is on point, full on contemporary! Preaching was amazing exactly what I needed to hear. Give this place a visit. It's life changing, healthy and a fantastic example of God's people doing it right!

I go here but not for the church services. It's located on top of a large hill which is referred to as the mountain. The view is spectacular! Me and my children will get take out food and go park there to watch the sunset. Also an awesome place to be on the 4th of July. You can see fireworks from Vinton, Roanoke and Salem.

We visited Parkway on our trip to Roanoke. I had searched up churches before arriving and told the husband lets go drive by that church I found. We were not in church attire and had no intention of attending that morning. But as we drove up people were waving and the husband asked about the church. They said come on in and we said we weren't dressed for it. We were going exploring so had on t shirt and jeans. No matter they said come on in. The welcome center people were very helpful, we got a tour and then enjoyed a great worship, teaching and healing that day. If we lived in Roanoke we definitely would be regulars.

A beautiful Church and what greets you inside is a true blessing. The congregation is so friendly and helpful. Pastor John Ott gives an emotional sermon; not long and drawn out as some Pastors are. They are involved in the community, always giving back. I'm proud to be a member.

Went for my first time since moving to the area. It was an awesome service with a "teaching" Pastor!!! Hard find. It doesn't get an better than learning more about our Heavenly Father & his Son, Jesus Christ!!!

This place is beyond words...the Paster , John Ott is the most inspirational, caring, loving person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. His talks are truly inspirational and moving. They have a beautiful church and many different programs for youths and kids The kid's Paster Andy Hardy is amazing. The people in the church are all amazing and loving and welcoming. I have never seen a better church... I would HIGHLY recommend going to this church.and once you do you will never want to go anywhere else. They make everybody feel like they've come home

Beautiful church with great views overlooking the Roanoke valley. Pastor delivered a wonderful remembrance service for my mother's funeral.

Great service, great music. Live band every sunday. Contry/rock music funny service always what you need. You leave feeling refreshed. Coffee shop inside!

This is my home church after years of searching. They are accepting of many different faiths, crazy welcoming and there are tons of ways to get involved.

Been attending for 13 years. Some things have changed but still love the people and sermons. God bless ..

This is a wonderful church. Seeing people come to Christ. And watching people grow spiritually. Great programs for all ages.

Location is excellent. Compassionate genuine congregation. Very welcoming.
