Vaso's Mediterranean Bistro

This was a really cozy place! We got the spanakopita and crab stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. The spanakopita was not quite as cheesy as I usually prefer, but still tasty! The mushrooms were very tender and delicious. For mains we got Greek Salad and the Moussaka. The Greek Salad was great, had an excellent dressing and the moussaka was really well spiced and is the ultimate comfort food!

The service was great, everyone was very friendly and attentive!

A really great spot in downtown Alexandria, food was superb and the service was keen and exemplary. It has two dining areas, a full bar, ample street parking and a cozy feel to its ambiance. There is only one bathroom for public use so there can be a point where you might be waiting for a bit or in a line. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to dine with its proximity to shops and convenience to other locations.

We had such a lovely time here tonight and I cannot believe I haven’t been here before! This might be my new hangout spot. What lovely staff, delicious drinks and food, ideal location, lovely decor and ambiance. Management goes out of their way to make you feel at home and even give excellent recommendations for the best dishes and drinks. Tonight we had fresh crab stuffed mushrooms and spinach pastry. We had cocktails and wine and each was more delicious than the next. This is such a hidden gem in old town and I cannot wait to be back to see Charles, Johnny, and Theodora.

Excellent food. Alexandria is one cozy place we love and this bistro made it better. The food options were great. The food was unquestionably good. Restroom accessibility is a question though.

Quiet, quaint restaurant with amazing food. I ordered the Vaso’s shrimp based off the recommendation of my server and I’m glad I followed her advice. It was beyond amazing and my friend loved her dish too. Nice atmosphere, good service and great food. I would probably recommend making a reservation if you plan on going on a busy night, the place is small, but worth the wait

New in the neighborhood, and we’ve always noticed Vaso’s Kitchen and wondered what the food tasted like. So on Monday, we ordered via Ubereats from Vaso's Kitchen (Old Town Alexandria), which was one of the best food decisions ever. Am definitely not a pizza person, but their original homemade Greek-style pizza sold me! It was fresh, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Everything else we ordered, from the hummus and pita bread to the Spanakotiropita (Spinach and Feta Cheese Baked in filo dough), was a perfect hit, and we were sold cause this has to become our new go-to place.

We had a great time! We had passed by while strolling Old Town and knew that we wanted to come here to celebrate something nice. I celebrated my graduation and was not disappointed. Penny was a delight and gave us a great history of the place, her family, and insight into family recipes. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon. The house wines, moussaka, and bread were particularly great.

My new favorite restaurant. There’s a lot of options for every palate (even picky eaters). The artichoke and the scampi and garlic were my favorites, the baklava is one of the best I’ve had. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was great. We went with our niece and they were patient and nice. I can’t wait to come back and try another dish

Vaso's has been a favorite of ours in Alexandria for several years. We visit here often from just outside Philadelphia.

Vaso's food is a Mediterranean/Italian hybrid and their guests reap all the benefits.

This visit was for lunch and everything was on point. I tried a cocktail special Rice Pudding Martini. It was creamy deliciousness. Our food was served hot and timely by our gracious and attentive server. The Saganaki cheese dish is always a delight served flaming table side but the salty crispy cheese is as addictive as a good bag of potato chips. The Avgolemeno Soup is mandatory at a Greek table made with chicken, lemons and eggs this classic soup is silky, creamy, delicious and packed with flavor. The other highlight was my Gyro Sandwich. It was huge packed with traditional Gyro meat, fresh veggies and tzatiki sauce. It's a great value everyday with fries for $13.00 with other meat options available this should be a neighborhood to-go staple if you can't dine in.

Pasta was delicious. I typically don't get spaghetti because it's so common and feels so plain. But my toddler got it and it was actually delicious. The shrimp scampi pasta looked plain but was flavorful. The oysters special was mostly greens buy it was delicious.

Our food was delicious, perfectly portioned and reasonably priced. We were hot, tired and exhausted. Our servers kept our water filled and did not push alcohol after we said no thank you. Dessert was unique, fun and light.

Nice family-owned Greek restaurant with solid dishes and tasty desserts.. an authentic ambience to the place, would def suggest giving it a try!

We had a great time celebrating a family birthday: delicious food, amazing cocktails and the most impressive- superb service during these tough times especially for a small family owned business. Will definitely be back to support them!

I was served the most delicious veal cutlet ever on January 5th, 2017. The gravy, made of natural juices of the cutlet, made it ever so enticing and tender to eat. We also enjoyed the starters but especially the garlic studded artichoke. We will recommend Vaso's to all your family and friends who live near and far.

This place is fantastic. I went with my colleagues and we tried many of the appetizers prior to our main dishes. Everything was truly outstanding. Including the wine!

Very friendly staff, wonderful food and they have a full kids menu and was accommodating. Loved the branzino & veal. The Mediterranean appetizer sample is HUGE .

You come to restaurants to enjoy the atmosphere and the service, however, the true star here is their food! I wish I loved here too eat through the whole menu time and time again. I was lucky enough to try several dishes through what my friends ordered. Go eat here!
