La Fromagerie Cheese and Wine Bistro

Great little wine and cheese bar in the heart of Old Town. We got to enjoy the ambiance while trying many different wines that we had never tried before. Definitely recommend!

A gem in Old Town Alexandria. La Fromagerie is absolutely amazing! The food is superb! No matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal. The selection of wines, Fantastic! The service, warm, attentive, and they will give great advice on how to pair the wine to the delicious food. We are very Lucky to have a place like this in our neighborhood.

La Fromagerie has become our go to restaurant in Old Town......period! The atmosphere is laid back, the seating is comfortable, the staff is absolutely top notch and, the food is amazing. La Fromagerie offers a variety of seasonal dishes, which results in an evolving menu based on time of year. The wine and cheese options are unrivaled in Old Town. We discovered this place one night walking our dog and it seemed super cozy and warm, AND everyone in the place appeared to be local and super relaxed. We were hooked after our first meal there and it really is our go to spot now. Enjoy.

Excellent experience at La Fromagerie! I went with some friends for an evening of cheese and wine in Old Town and was not disappointed! The warm pimento cheese with pecans and "Seven Sisters" cheese on the cheese board were our favorites. The wine flight was an excellent value and we even tasted a delicious chocolate desert! Will absolutely be back in the future to try more cheeses and wines!

Wonderful experience. High quality wines. Love the fact that you can build your own charcuterie board, and you have a lot of options to choose from. Very nice atmosphere, located in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria - walkable area. Will come back!

Adorable and cozy wine bar, visited solo while on a work trip and had the best experience. Megan took great care of me and poured excellent wines. The food was great as well and you can never go wrong with charcuterie and cheese. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Alexandria.

Hidden gem in Alexandria. Have been here a couple of times now and I love the seasonal menu. I prefer the small plates and appetizers, especially the yummy charcuterie and cheese board with so many unique options! They currently have a cheese with juniper that I’m dreaming about. Wine flights (three for $20) are also great, and you can get a bottle from the wine shop next door with a $20 corkage fee. I also hope they’ll bring back the ancho chile chocolate pot de creme soon.

The charcuterie boards are always impressive, as is the knowledge of the staff. I love how they have both a regular list of wines and a subset that changes each month to focus on a new region or wine making method. It allows me to explore and try things I'd likely never try.

I finally got a chance to enjoy dinner here on my most recent visit! If you can grab a table, do it! Everything was delicious and the service was wonderful!

This welcoming bistro excels in an appealing and well-curated selection of wine flights and wines by the glass, delicious small plates and also main dishes prepared by a great chef, and a comfortable atmosphere. Happy hour here is the best, especially for the weekly terroir Wednesdays!

If someone asked me to recommend the best restaurant in Old Town, La Fromagerie would be that place. Top notch food and service and a very nice wine selection. Extremely knowledgeable and attentive service.

Under appreciated gem. It’s billed first as a cheese shop, and indeed the proprietor has excellent taste in cheese, but as a bistro it stands out as easily some of the best food in Old Town. Classic French food done well, with wonderful salads.

Food is AMAZING! Wine selection is outstanding! The wait staff are all sooooo knowledgeable about pairing wines with each dish on the menu. This was my 2nd visit and I'll be back every time I'm in Alexandria!!!

This is the perfect little place to pop in and have a glass of wine and some nice fine cheese. They also sell hundreds of wines by the bottle for you to take home, and are very knowledgeable about the cheeses and meats that they sell on their charcuterie boards. Some of the best cheese I have ever had in my life.

What a great place! La Fromagerie Wine Bar & Bistro became mine and my wife’s favorite place to hang out for wine, charcuterie, and meals.

Rigel was an excellent server and made sure we had a wonderful dinner. Explained absolutely everything on the menu, provided great recommendations. And the pours were GENEROUS. I'd go back in a heartbeat and in fact i will the next time i need some wine with my cheese or vice versa. Everything tasted great and it was surprisingly affordable, that said we found the menu to be a bit limited, but i think that is intentional and reasonable given the heavy focus on delicious charcuterie options.

Still daydreaming about our amazing meal - the cheeses (seven sisters, appalachian, and st stephen) and porcini risotto were especially delicious! And the hint of heat in the chile chocolate pot de creme was quite nice! Appreciated the attentive staff and their detailed knowledge of and recommendations from the menu.

Have had two excellent experiences here and looking forward to more. Enjoyed the Hungarian wine on recent visit and charcuterie/ cheese selection is a treat
