IL Porto Italian Ristorante

Wonderful food and great service in a lovely atmosphere. The Chicken Parmesan ($21.95) was so good, but the melt-in-your-mouth Homemade Tiramisu ($9.00), accompanied by a decaf Cappuccino ($5), was incredible. I felt so comfortable and content, I didn't want to leave.

Delicious food and fantastic service. The hardest thing about eating here is finding parking because it’s in a touristy area. But if you can find parking, go. The setting is slightly upscale with very relaxing music, and very attentive staff. We started off with bruschetta which was delicious, and had pollo siciliano and saltimbucca alla Romano. Everything was so good.

My husband and I made a reservation this Friday evening & had a lovely dinner! Throughout the meal, the service was impeccable. Our server Jesus was attentive, and his knowledge of the menu was impressive. He made excellent recommendations, enhancing our dining experience even further. We will definitely be back for our next date night!

We went at the last minute for dinner on Valentine’s Day.
They found us a table with a view.
They had a pretty good wine list.
So we had a bottle of wine.
We then had the mussels in white sauce which was amazing.
The salad we had was also really good.

We ended up with seafood pasta which was also super.
We topped it all off with a cannoli.

The entire experience was terrific and I highly recommend this restaurant.

So- Il Porto is fantastic. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Virginia.
Ive been eating here for nearly 20 years, and have introduced dozens of people to this spot.
If you want an old school spot (50 years!) For Italian food in Old Town, this is the best option.
Food is fantastic. Service is also excellent.
Tonight I had the ravioli and it was perfect.

So, I wanted to share my experience at IL Porto Italian Restaurant, where we had our friend's wedding rehearsal dinner. It was seriously fantastic. The staff there were amazing, so friendly and attentive.

Now, let's talk about the food. It was out of this world. I'm not kidding; if my stomach had more room, I would have gone for seconds and thirds. The Italian dishes were just delicious.

The whole atmosphere was perfect for a rehearsal dinner – cozy and welcoming. If you're into fantastic Italian food with a warm vibe, IL Porto is the place to go. I had a great time there and would totally recommend it.

I made a reservation for 20 this past Friday November 3rd. I arrived 20 minutes early to ensure we had no issues. My table was ready early and we were greeted so pleasantly. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. What I appreciated most was, they accommodated our large party and didn’t charge those ridiculous fees the other restaurants do. We had thee best time. Can’t wait to return. Thank you for being a staple of quality food and superb service.

Went here for brunch. Tried their Crab Cake Benedict which is served on a biscuit with roasted potatoes. Also ordered a seafood pasta and the pasta noodles are really long.

Everything was nice and well seasoned.
They have outdoor seating too on a very busy street surrounded by bars and restaurants.

You also get a complementary bread to start with.

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat before an appointment so we were a bit rushed. Little did we know how delicious this place was. We regret being so rushed and really wanted to savor the meal. My husband said this is the best oysters he’s had. I said and this is the best chicken salad I’ve had! Funny but it really was! The chicken was flavorfully seasoned and pounded thin. The bread was warm and so tasty along with the whipped butter. We want to go back and have dinner without having to hurry through. It was very delicious and we both recommend. 👍👍

Very delicious food! This is a very cute Italian restaurant in old town Alexandria that I am surprised I hadn’t found before!

The staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. The ambiance of the restaurant is vintage and beautiful. Their lambchops were delicious and I highly recommend it. Their drinks were generous as well. I would recommend getting one of their daily specials as you can’t go wrong with them.

We had a great dinner at IL Porto Ristorante! We sat outside and felt part of the action on the street. Food and service was great. We ordered the seafood pasta special which was good. Tiramisu was perfect!

A must try if you are in Old Town Alexandría. Excellent food and service.

We had our wedding reception in the upstairs space of IlPorto. I worked with Manfredy Lopez to reserve the space, select our menu, and determine costs. The day of the reception, his team took charge and managed our crowd of 50+ guests. The food was served fresh and hot!! Our guests expressed it was the best wedding food they've ever had. It was delicious. The staff cut and served our cake without issue. They were SOOOO nice and accomodating.
We spent about 10-15k total and it was worth it. We had space to dance, mingle with our guests and eat comfortably. We did an open bar for an hour and served appetizers as well as a full sit down dinner. We love il Porto! Thank you, Fredy!

We love this place! My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and have always had a great experience. Most recently, we were served by Rocky who made sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our dining experience. Would happily recommend to friends and family.

I had an amazing experience at this place! Right from the moment I made the reservation, they took into account all of my preferences and made sure everything was perfect. The location is great too - it's on the corner of King St. and N Lee St. where car access is restricted, so you get a fantastic view of the main walkable area in Old Town. You can enjoy your meal indoors with a charming atmosphere, or sit outside on the sidewalk-pedestrian street. The service was excellent and the staff made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. I want to give a special thanks to our waitress, Jackie, who went above and beyond to make our birthday celebration unforgettable.

Had dinner there with family while they were in town for Christmas. It was a last-minute reservation, and Il Porto was one of the few places that still had room. We ended at a lovely table right by the fireplace. Service was attentive, and the food overall was great. (Seafood pasta special, chicken parm, eggplant parm, lasagna, and cocktails were wonderful. Veal marsala was just "pretty good".) Everyone commented on what a lovely dinner we had - very happy we found this place!

We had an amazing party here ! Food and service was impeccable. Freddy planned our party and had great attention to detail! Ali our head waiter also did a great job! Highly recommend would have another occasion here for sure!

My brother and I dined at this restaurant on Christmas Day. The experience was 5 stars. Our waiter Jesus was attentive and very professional. The food (my brother and I ordered Pollo alla la Primavera) was delicious. The chicken was tender and the vegetables were cooked and seasoned to perfection.

This is a very cute Italian restaurant near the waterfront thats decorated with beautiful christmas lights. Last weekend my husband and I dined at this restaurant and was sat at the bar where the cozy yet vibrant atmosphere created the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening. Our server, Tarik, who was stationed behind the bar, added a special touch to our experience. Even though it was busy, he was still attentive and made sure we were taken care of. All the food and drinks that we ordered were also very enjoyable and would come back again. This restaurant clearly values providing an outstanding dining experience. I highly suggest it for those in search of authentic Italian flavors paired with excellent service.

Really wonderful experience here. The veal parmigiana is what got me here and it did not disappoint! Had a couple chocolate martinis that are worth writing about! Will go here again! You should go.
