The Wharf

1st time here. This place has a romantic feel to it. Beautiful on the inside with soft jazz music playing. The street in front is closed off, so all the restaurants have tables outside with live music. We ate inside. We shared a cesar salad. I had the crab cakes for my entrée and my husband had the peppercorn roasted chicken. We both liked our meals. I had the peach sangria to drink, and my husband had the pear Martini and a black bullet whiskey Manhattan. He loved his drinks. For dessert, we shared the oatmeal pie. 🤤 thanks for the lovely dinner and for comping our dessert for our anniversary.

This place was fantastic. My dad recommended it to me and he was right on. The crab cakes were fantastic!. The bar was great and the atmosphere in the entire restaurant was perfect. The waitstaff was friendly and right on top of things. I would definitely come back.

We ate the Maine Lobster, New York Steak , Crab Cakes and the She crab soup. All were cooked perfectly and tasted Amazing, it was my Birthday today and the Server surprised me with a cheesecake and candle that was a pleasant surprise. Were from Florida and this restaurant is better then any Seafood restaurants in our state.

Fantastic place to eat. Nice ambience, great waiters,and excellent seafood. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with Bok Choy and black rice. It was delicious. Really nice experience.

Lovely historic restaurant where yoy can enjoy fresh fish and other alternatives at fair prices. The scalop risotto was excellent as the dumplings. Fast service Good wine and cocktail menu.

This was a great spot in Alexandria along with exceptional service. For our dinner, we chose outdoor seating. The atmosphere was amazing.

I enjoyed the calamari and a stuffed jumbo shrimp. The dishes had good portions and flavour.

One of the memorable experiences here, besides the food, is service at The Wharf-- it was exceptional. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions and make recommendations based on personal preferences. The waitstaff's attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for their work truly elevated the dining experience.

In terms of ambiance, The Wharf strikes the perfect balance between elegance and relaxation. Love the street setting.

While the food and service were outstanding, it is worth noting that The Wharf is a popular destination, especially on weekends. Making a reservation in advance is highly recommended to secure a table, particularly if you prefer an outdoor table.

Probably the best seafood in Alexandria. The food, drinks, and atmosphere is amazing. Crab cake is amazing however the last time I was there in November the crab cake was just ok. Not sure if was out of season but before this was always sensational. This place is establish as a great one and please always keep the quality the best everyday. I like it and will go back.

Overall great experience. We had a reservation, arrived early. Asked if preferred indoor or outdoor seating. Clean, friendly service, not noisy, cute decor, great location close to the waterfront and many local shops on King Street. The trolley takes you there if needed! My daughter is 10 and likes her steak and seafood…she ate it all without complaint! Best part is that inside the building cell service doesn’t work, so if you’re wanting undivided attention during dinner great place 😃

All I can say is "WOW"!!! My friend and I picked this place because we'd never been here before. We are both life-long diners! The service was fast and friendly and the food was was delicious and daring. Not your average seafood or brunch spot. A must try!

Updated 2/17/23 Returned today for lunch and was treated to a great meal and customer service! I love this place!

Even during the pandemic, this place can fill up fast, so reservation is recommended.
They're crab cakes are amazing. Everything else was good and fresh. Good and prompt service, friendly staff. It may seem pricey but they give you a lot of food. It's also a pretty cool experience dining at this historical place.

Went here during restaurant week and were very impressed. Good for a fancy night out. Seafood heavy but they have non seafood options too. Loved the scallops over risotto, and my husband loved the Cajun pasta. We would return for another RW or fancy night out. No complaints here, and thank you RW for making it possible to visit!

1/13/24 Sat at the bar. Bartenders were amazing, very accommodating. Had the lump crab appetizer with the greens. Was delicious. Got salmon entree for my main was good. Had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Next time, I am going to get lump crab entree. Will definitely go back!

Went here for dinner and the food was really good! Fish was super soft and nice and was served with a sauce that complimented it very well.

The lobster pasta was terrific, very flavorful and was served a very solid portion.

We also got the seafood platter that had shrimp, scallops, and calamari. Definetly a good dish to get to try a little bit of everything.

Lastly, service was solid. Very friendly staff from host to waiter. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some quality seafood

THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!! Highly recommend! Our waitress, Julie, was having a bad night. Not too friendly. We talked to the manager and he was over the top apologizing. So, for that I’m giving them 5 stars. We all have bad days. We weren’t complaining, simply bringing the issue to his attention. He made up for it. 👏🏻

The place looked nice. 😲 The food was expensive 🤤 but it tasted good, which is important. Some of the items are seasonal, like this bread pudding with some kind of berries that I saw in pictures of the place before going, and I was looking forward in trying it. 😒 much to my dismay, it wasn't in season. But the creme brûlée was good.

Celebrated a friend's birthday with a few other friends and we had a great time! Service was amazing! Food was delicious! We sat upstairs and it was very nice. I didn't see vegan options on the menu so I cheated and had the crabcakes...delicious! Thanks Ishmael for great service and being fun as well as funny! I hope I spelled his name right 🙂

Great food and service. This was our best meal during our stay in Alexandria. It was a relaxed quiet atmosphere unlike many of the restaurants on King Street. All of our food and drinks were wonderful and we had a great time here. Our service made great conversation and tried to get to know us. Certainly recommend you check this place out on your visit.

The food was amazing. Came during restaurant week in old Town, and they had a three course meal that really hit it out of the park. The seafood is fresh and well prepared, and the raspberry bread pudding was awesome! Decor very rustic, really set a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend
