What a lovely trail to hike! can’t say I’m a big fan of the name Chattahooche, but it really is such an amazing river :) can’t wait to go next summer and draft down the river

This is one my favorite quick, local hikes. It’s also the ending point for when we tube the Chatahooche. It’s a paved walking trail (they also have offshoot walking paths they are more wooded). Large parking lot (requires pay fee if you don’t have a pass); also a bathroom onsite which is nice!

An excellent park with several hiking trails along with a walking trail. Very good for families and groups to enjoy.

I love to go on walks by the river with my family or sometimes with just my baby. In the early mornings sometimes there is fog over the river and it’s absolutely gorgeous. You will see a lot of wildlife on this trail as well, watch out for snakes! The path is paved, very stroller friendly.

Only takes about 10 minutes to hike through the abundant greenery to the serene river. Georgia is full of fauna and flora up high and down low to keep you engaged as you stumble upon the invasive Joro spiders, occasional deer, and gorgeous shrubs/trees.

The river itself is deep in some areas to submerge one’s whole body, but mostly the rocks and shallow areas prevent really swimming inside. I highly recommend taking off your shoes to step into the water that feels so refreshing among the humidity!

If you’re taking Sope trail, cross the river and head downstream with the current and you’ll find extraordinary ruins from what I assume to be the Civil War time. There’s a whole network of pillars and fortified walls that stretch along the river but up higher in the forest. You’ll have to cut through some seemingly uncharted trails to get up to the ruins, but it’s so worth it. Beware of spiders and poison Ivy though, as my little brother brushed up against some and we had to rush him back to the car and apply cortisone. Well worth it though to witness nature’s overgrowth on what’s left of our country’s battle with itself.

I enjoy this park a lot. I take a 4 mile walk here a couple times a week. Wide, well-maintained paths for all kinds of exercising or nature watching.

Never very crowded. Their walking path connects all the way to the Chattahoochee park, not that I've walked that far before.

BEWARE: This is just a reminder to make sure that you lock your car. If you have to check it 10 times, check it 10 times. My friend had her purse stolen out of her car. They took her AMEX card and went straight to the Apple Store at Cumberland Mall and tried to purchase $5000 worth of items. Turns out the police received several phone calls about burglarized cars in that area that day.

I’ve been going to this trail for years. It’s nicely paved and they stay on top of the upkeep. My favorite part of the trail is the flat rocks in the river that you’re able to sit on and enjoy the scenery, meditate, do homework, etc. . It’s quite peaceful. There are a few inclines that will make you lose your breath if you’re not in the best shape. If you go in the morning, especially in the summer, expect to see snakes crossing the path to enter the water and little creatures following behind them.

Weather was beautiful, temperature was just right, not too many mosquitoes in this area (wore bug spray anyway just in case) saw plenty of families and dogs out enjoying the water. Heads up: parking is $3 if you have cash or $5 with card

Great place to take a long walk or run near the Hooch. It is 3 dollars to park until sunset. This park is highly monitored and you will get a ticket if you do not pay at the machine. Credit cards and debit cards are usable. Just print out ticket and put on dash.

Great parking, entry to go kayaking or tubing is easy and wide. Nice walking trail and some places along the river to bring your chair and hang out watching the river, tubers, and kayakers go by. There are also benches and (grills?) Available

A gem in the Atlanta metro area. This is a beautiful hike with some climbing. It's a perfect length with beautiful views. Lots of people doing a number of activities. Great for dogs and a picnic it really is a fantastic way to spend an hour or 2.

I love these trails, especially for being in such a developed area. The non-paved trails can give you a pretty decent 4-5 mile workout. The views are beautiful and I like that you are close to water for most of the hike, and there's a nice bathroom stop if you go to the most northeast section of the trail. Highly recommend for an after-work stroll. Keep in mind you are supposed to pay for parking although rarely enforced.

Meanwhile is a beautiful trail if there is no people around be careful to walk there. Like any other park or place. No place in earth is safe anymore with too much evil 😔

Fishing on the hooch! Nice spot, some areas are shallow enough to walk out into the river, the current was at a moderate pace. Fish are a little further out so next time I know to be prepared to suit up and wade into the water. And make sure your tackle box is stocked with heavier weights.

Amazing place with loads of activities. You can hike, cycle or have fun in the water - canoe, kayak, swim - do what you will. The day was beautiful - neither too hot nor cloudy and we spent good 2-3 hrs here. Did a mile trek and came back and my group cycled around and also got in the water. There are cycles available for rent here, so we didn’t have to carry anything. Just us and our happy spirits! Will visit again

What a lovely parked just tucked right next to the busy city. This park has about 4 miles of winding trails next to the Chattahoochee river and is an absolute joy to visit. Bring the dogs (on a leash), or your bikes, some kayaks, or even just a good pair of shoes and enjoy the sun and the beautiful trails.
