Voodoo Spiritual Temple

Some of the best advice and words of affirmation I've ever received have come from Priestess Miriam. What some people I see here referring to "incoherent and negative rants" from her are people who can't seem to read between the lines and can't accept that the truth isn't always what we want/are prepared to hear. Likewise, sometimes we think we're spiritual and open-minded when we are really not. In order to get the full experience, one cannot just hear - they have to *listen* - which is more difficult than it sounds. The Priestess has untold wisdom that comes with decades of experience, and her words carry more weight than some are willing to accept. Take the opportunity to do some real self reflection and doors will open to new possibilities.

It’s been a few years since I had the pleasure of coming and visiting this amazing temple but I can’t wait to return! Priestess Miriam was so kind and knowledgeable and made my experience so calming and pleasurable! If you’re looking to really learn about Voodoo then this is THE place to go!

Priestess Miriam is one of the kindest and wisest people I know. She has a wonderful shop full of all kinds of neat things, plus her temple room is amazing. So cool in there and I always have to leave an offering. Her readings are always spot on too! Love this place! And get her handmade incense!

Discovering the exceptional gifts Priestess shares has been a life saver and life changer for me. Priestess is charming and genuine and and a thoughtful Soul. As I’ve stated, my visits here changed my life for the better, and I’ve heard many others say those same words about this lovely place.

I stopped by a little after their opening time on Monday and they were still closed, but had a "ring if closed" bell. I rang it and was greeted by Priestess Miriam. She invited me in and and was very sweet and happy to answer all of my questions. Without going into details, she was spot on in several areas of my life without me mentioning things (these observations were made during idle conversation). Ended up spending over an hour speaking with her and left feeling extremely at peace. Very cathartic experience and Priestess Miriam was a true delight (very quick witted not afraid to poke a little fun). Will definitely be back on my next visit.

She is very wise and I felt very peaceful when I was inside she said things to me that I needed to hear. I will definitely be coming back for a reading with an appointment of course . Thank you for your words of wisdom on the conversation about being a temple and many blessings -🤍

I have been to the Temple several times and it has been a life changing place for me, and Miriam is a woman of very high integrity and has a true and devoted interest in wanting to heal and make the world a better, more loving ,and more spiritually attuned place. I have no doubt that should I ever knock on her door in need of help of any kind she would open her door and her vast heart to help me. The altars
are fascinating and beautiful and resonant with devotional spiritual energy and she has copal and other cool rare stuff in her gift store.

We did not receive a reading per se but we were there when she was giving insight and we piled into the altar room and sat on the floor for the information. She gave us a tour of the shop and explained the pieces in the altar room. Her husband was nice as well. It was dope. Now that I've felt her energy next time I go I'll get a reading. She reminds me of one of my elders at a family function. Like "come sit...let me tell you a little something."

Priestess Miriam is a wealth of knowledge and has given me some of the best advice. If you are ever in New Orleans, I strongly suggest that you go visit her. To clarify, I never paid for a specific service, I simply hung out there and purchased some oils and spiritual baths.

We visited the priestess where we asked a question each and the answer she gave was just what was happening in our lives. Remember this was the first time we met her. We left shocked but at the same time knowing what we needed to focus on. Highly recommended 👌 👍

I just met Priestess Miriam last week. I love her place and she was more than welcoming. Every time she spoke I was learning something new or there was something put into perspective that made more sense. I’ll be back soon!

Sadly closed when I got there (1:15pm on Nov 30). Still, I have fond memories of the place from before Hurricane Katarina when I was last there. The place exudes peace and benevolence, even on the street.

I just wanted to say that your voodoo magic works!!! I came here under a year ago when I was travelling the States and wondered into the shop whilst I was in New Orleans. I found a necklace that told me it would give me good luck - it did! - and I bought some of the Alger's attraction powder (not sure if I spelt right) which after some time brought back an old love who i never thought I would be together with again. I am no spiritual person nor do I believe in much but this magic works!!!

Black-owned voodoo shop in New Orleans (don’t get trapped by inauthentic voodoo shops)! After a bit of research we ventured to Priestess Miriam’s shop, she’s an ordained priestess so goods were purchased tax free. We were given a bit of a tour of the place and some great history on Voodoo and Obeah. I would certainly recommend you taking the time to check this place out, she’s been here in New Orleans for about 30 years.
