Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank

I went to visit a former church member , and the hospital was very clean. The staff was courteous, The food on the dinner tray looked & smelled good . The patient's room was immaculate. As a former patient there, I prefer Oschner as my hospital! 👍

This is a really nice hospital...my first time here and it didn't feel like a hospital. It had a very French quarter vibe, the pictures on the wall were beautiful, you can smell the aromatic PJ'S coffee in the air and every one was smiling. This place did not have a somber atmosphere like some hospitals do. 💣

I was brought here from a nearby mental health facility after reporting pelvic pain to one of the nurses or therapists there. I was also approaching 6 months of pregnancy. I didn't really think much of the pain I was having. It was bearable, didn't make me think of contractions, and I really chalked it up to extreme anxiety because the facility was horrible. But, understandably, the facility didn't want to take a risk, so they sent me to Ochsner to be checked out by labor and delivery.

The staff quickly found out that I was experiencing contractions, likely from dehydration since I was too stressed to get water at the behavioral health facility. Everyone was very good about keeping myself and my husband informed about the condition. I was put on a magnesium IV, saw a very friendly OB, Dr. Vuong, several times, and was provided information about what to expect if the baby is premature by the premie specialist.

Since I was there from a psychiatric hold, I had to have a sitter in the room at all times. They were very sweet ladies who chatted with me and treated me like a person, rather than like a psych case.

Nurse Tina is an absolute angel. She worked hard to help make contact with my psychiatrist and Ochsner's remote psychiatrist to see if I could be released to a different mental health facility or even to go home after I completed treatment at Ochsner - contractions stopped, and baby was fine! - so that I could be in a less stressful environment which was obviously recommended following my condition. Thanks to her and another lady I didn't get to meet (don't know her name, just know my psychiatrist mentioned another lady she spoke to), I was able to discharge home and relax there.

Straight to the point, wait was no more than 20 to 30 min max. Got the meds to help me. Quick and easy!

Every single staff member was so nice. The Dr. Never left me confused about my treatment plan. Every nurse was so nice. Treated me so well. Nurse Donna worked with me all night because my pressure was so high. But I never got scared because she was on it. The nurse Sean that checked me in was also very professional. Thanks to all. Espically those nurses that I can't remember their names they were awesome. Including the aids.

The doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing! I felt loved, cared for, and in a safe place. They were courteous and had wonderful bedside manner. They made me feel that everything was going to be all right. The doctors explained everything very clearly to me. The nurses were quiet at night and I slept like a baby! It was a wonderful experience and a safe haven!
I am on the road to recovery and very happy for it and very grateful for them!

I was there in emergency 06/18/2023, I could not have had a better experience.
The entire staff that assisted me were all incredibly professional and caring.
The areas I was in were all very clean and organized.

My ER Nurses, doctors and staff and Hospital stay Nurses, doctors and staff who treated me in Room 316 were all terrific. Very courteous, professional, and kind. They were attentive and caring. I admire the great job they all do. God bless them. I recommend this hospital.

Received great service! Customer service was awesome. Patient registration was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the billing process. There was a young lady at patient registration, I can’t recall her name. She was so patient and understanding. She made my visit!

Drs. and staff were professional and polite. They kept our family informed and aware of all interventions and treatments that were conducted on our mothers behalf. The facility was clean with above average security. I recommend this facility.

The imaging and ultrasound staff are caring professionals that have made my recent three visits comfortable. They take as much time as you need to understand the procedures and ask any questions you might have.

Was rushed to ER experiencing heart attack. They took me immediately… I have had some horrible experiences with ER’s but I was out in 4 hours and had the absolute best care I could have asked for. simply the best! Best doctors, best nurses, best facilities. Was in so much pain and was seen right away and taken into room within 10-15 minutes. Doctors and nurses were very professional and informative.

Ochsner Medical Center-West Bank , by far is the best hospital I've ever stayed in my 60 years I've been on this journey! And I've been admitted to a lot of hospitals in my lifetime . California, Georgia , Louisiana are 3 states I've lived in, this hospital is filled with Doctors, Nurses, staff members Nutritionist, housekeeping, all with gracious attitudes and wonderful spirits. They've welcomed me to the fullest, along with saving my life! From the Cancer Center to Emergency room to ICU then to a regular room, I am truly grateful, full with gratitude 🙏, much love ❤ for all those that work at Ochsner Medical Center-West Bank!

The staff was very nice, they took me in right away. I was sick as could be, it turns out I had the flu and a touch of the ammonia. They give me IVs, x-ray they did a thorough job in my opinion.

My mom was recently hospitalized in ICU for over 2 weeks. She received amazing care from everyone. Physicians, nurses, dietary, housekeeping, therapists, case management, transport, and security were all wonderful and caring.

I have been getting the greatest treatment and patient care ever. Ochsner has finally listened to what individuals want from the medical field. They know exactly what is expected from them. Patient care is the ulmost importance priority for them. Continue and do more for your patients. Thank Y'all.

Great service!!!! 90min and we were in and out with 10 stitches. The nurses made my son so comfortable and they all were very attentive. The doctor who stitched my son laceration was really down to earth and held a pleasant conversation!!!!!! I Never had this type of service before 💙

Our son spent 12 days on life support in the ICU at Ochsner Westbank before he passed. I cannot say enough about the excellent quality of care he received. The compassion and kindness he and our family was shown by the nurses, doctors, and staff was so appreciated. Thank you to all of them and God bless.
