Pleasant, meandering park. Cool pedestrian crossings over the railroad, including an elevator for wheelchairs. Big, covered warehouse floor is great for skating and tennis. Easy to forget the river is there when on the other side of the levee.

Lovely park, with a paved trail about 1.4 miles in length that runs along the waterfront (a small portion is divided from the river by railroad tracks). Water fountains and portable toilets in some areas. Pedestrian overpass (the one by the warehouse) over the railway is equipped with an elevator.

Very close to the river, and adjacent to the city.

It kind of curves a bit so it would be better if they could have straightened it out but oh well I guess that's part of being here.

There's a dog run, but it's fairly small.

When I was there the place was lousy with clowns but they were kind of hot so, when they chased me on their roller skates it was oddly traumatic yet stimulating.

I guess the best way to describe this would be that when I recall this memory "I will find it difficult but not impossible...".

There's a very small chance that if you me running to clowns here so if you don't like clowns or don't want to be put in a situation that would cause you to not like clowns in the future, perhaps you should steer clear.

Other than that..it's a nice park.

Crescent Park is one of of my favorites in the city of New Orleans. There is over a mile of paved, smooth, walk or running track. Multiple beautiful gardens line the walkways. There is a dog park, free parking lot and some of the best views of the city that you will find.

Very nice park along the river with quite a bit of interesting statues, lighting, gardening and views along fairly decently long walking paths.

Absolutely love this park. They open the gates promptly for 6a. I lead a free workout group, open to all - community oriented (come join us!). But point is we are there every Tues/Thurs at 6a and Sat at 7a, and we've never had a problem!
It's always clean, always safe, and always beautiful. The views are awesome. Fun fact - the park is EXACTLY one mile (if you know where to start) in length. Which is awesome for our Saturday timed miles. I promise this is not a shameless workout post (despite what it seems) just authentically want to share that for our use it's an absolute treat. As a local who also spends a considerable amount of time at Audubon, City Park, etc - all of which I love - Crescent Park just hits different. Enjoy it.

Great park just outside the French Quarter on the bank of the Mississippi River. Nice path for running. Covered wharf, grassy areas, flyer garden, bench swings, the Rusty Rainbow, a dog park & amazing views of the NOLA skyline!

Very serene little park, a great place to get away and have quiet time during the day. I walk in this park every morning, it's an awesome way to start my day. It is also a good place to walk your dog, go for a jog, have a picnic or bring the kids to play.

The best place to get an awesome picture of downtown. The park has very industrial feel. It wasn’t to busy when we went, but it was also overcast. Parking lot was a little further down the road than GPS took us and was free.

Excellent. There were two bands playing, food trucks, drinks, etc. I recommend the fireworks in July 4th. Crowded up to the top. I would highly recommend it.

Such a beautiful escape from the wild of the Quarter yet surprisingly within decent walking distance from it as well. Beautifully designed and a nice walk along the water while taking in the flowers. Best during weekdays when it is absolutely calm and serene. Very spacious and accessible and dog friendly. Downside are no restrooms at all.

Great park for walkers, cyclists and pet owners. Small section of picnic tables. It runs right along the Mississippi River and is located next to the French Market. My GPS was wrong. If yours is too, keep going, taking 2 rights. You'll know you are at the parking lot when you see the bridge. Note: Small dogs may need to be carried over the bridge. Lots of steps.

Gorgeous landscaping with an array or plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers. Add that with an up close and personal view of the Mississippi with its traffic of ships and vessels! Ample free parking with restaurants surrounding Crescent Park. Most impressive part of this park is the stair crossing from the parking lot-amazing architecture.

Great hidden gem. This park came from the ashes of the Phoenix. Former wharfs used to sit here, now the area has been transformed into an oasis of serenity.

Climb the 96 or so stairs, I counted, to gain access to a little piece of earthly heaven in the form of breathtaking views of the city. Seems to be something straight from a postcard.

Way to go CITY OF NOLA, job well done.

This park in the heart of the Marigny serves its purpose of promoting a day time get away.

Great place to see a different look of New Orleans, Just be careful where you park, don't park at the entrance, try to get down by the bridge, 3 cars broken into ( under crime camera) .

Absolutely beautiful park. You can't beat the city views. The bridge is an amazing stairs workout. It is so clean and well maintained.

A lovely park and view of New Orleans skyline from across the river. The park was clean and had nice contrasts of plants and industrial elements. The path was wide and there were a fair number of folks jogging and walking their pets.

Update. May 2021- This is my first time back to New Orleans in about a year. Surprisingly things do not look like they have changed much. The folks were partying like Covid did not exist on Bourbon Street with absolutely no masks on. The other folks still queued up, close to each other to get into Cafe Du Monde for Beignets. But it was a fun place to visit again. I took some more photos and will add them here, if google map let's me.

I only discovered this park on my previous visit to New Orleans, although I have been there at least 6 times.

The park is located about a 1/4 of a mile from Jackson Square, which is the gathering point in the French Quarter.

The park run along the Mississippi River and provides a great view of the city. It has a walking trail, landscaping and plantings, a bathroom and a couple of steel swings as well a places to sit.

It is just separated from the street, by a railroad track. So you must use pedestrian bridges to get to the park. There is an elevator adjacent to one of the bridges. Parking on the street is tight. But when I explored a little deeper I found a big parking lot that services the park (free parking) about two blocks further down. It is just a great spot to chill and relax and was the barges and ships go by.

From a photographer's standpoint, hit the park in the morning, with the golden sun kisses the buildings of New Orleans.

This is a place that basically only locals know about. Because even with Mardi Gras this past weekend, I saw only local car tags in this park (well with the exception of my car).

Come check this place out. Great spot in New Orleans for a downtown park. Here are some photos of the city from the park's viewpoint.

Best view of the skyline in the entire city. Gorgeous new park with plenty of space to spread out, bring dogs and a few drinks for a perfect sunset date. Just wish there were more places to put up a hammock. I plan on making this a stop every time I'm in the Bywater, and will probably come just for this view!
