The Coliseum Square Park was the centerpiece of a New Faubourg built over Madame Delord-Sarpy’s plantation. The three acre park was designed in 1806 by a French Architect. It has been remodeled over the years and is still a lovely spot. The park is shady with a lot of seating. Large open areas allow children to have fun playing but there is no playground equipment as such.

This place is peaceful and beautiful. This area is nice for those who want to escape chaos.

Took my dog here in the middle of a hot afternoon and it was lovely.

People were letting their dogs cool off in the huge, shallow fountain and it was surrounded by benches to hang out in the sun and about a block or two of green space underneath huge, amazing old oak trees. People were scattered around on blankets or not, just reading or chilling out. Very cool.

One guy was even in a hammock (not sure if anyone was going to yell at him for using the old trees but it seemed ok)

Large open space, beautiful old live oaks, an tire swing and a very nice large fountain.
Just watch your step in the grass, not everyone picks up behind their dog. Even though bags are provided

SUPER PET FRIENDLY.
Lots of sunshine, shade, and relaxation.
Just on of my favorite locations to visit.
Thx N.O.

Very cool trees and fountain if I'm thinking of the right park. If it's not the trees and fountain one then there's a gorgeous castle like structure that's a great photo shoot spot with horse and carriage rides near the entrance that take you around the French Quarter.

I’m not sure why I haven’t been to this park before but what a lovely find in the middle of the city! I went for jazz in the park on friday and it was absolutely lovely. There were families, couples, friends all enjoying the music dancing and chatting and eating and drinking.

It's a nice place for a short walk or picnic. We let our dog splash around in the foutain, and he loved it. I saw a few folks with hammocks, so I'll definitely bring one of those next time.

Very clean for a seemingly heavy foot traffic park, I've been frequenting often lately and it's never crowded, the people keep to themselves which I love almost as much as how hammock friendly it is.
I bet you can't find me.

Love this park. It is big enough that you can get a decent walk or run in here. It has quite a few big trees that you can stand under for shade. You'll often find many dogs in the park. There is a fountain that the dogs love to play in. Watching the dogs live their best life is always fun. The grass being kept at a decent length is questionable, but it is NOLA...they will get to it when they get to it. You will find music and shows in the park randomly on the weekend.

It is a beautiful neighborhood park. It is maintained fairly well and the locals are friendly and usually up for a chat, if you feel so inclined.

Near "Magazine" and "Race and Coliseum" Streets (one (1) block away...
and near "St. Charles " Av., New Orleans (NOLA), Louisiana.

Coliseum Square Park features two (2) "Water Fountain Display", and Park benches - however, no nearby "Public Restrooms "

It's fantastic for "Meditation" activities ** but for the lack of Restrooms, and operating "Drinking Fountains"...

What can I say, I love this park. It could be a little bigger, but this is a city after all. Lots of space for people to lay out, dogs to run, and children to release some energy. It's home of the Coliseum Square Park fountain as well as Lafon fountain. Both are wonderful places to rest and enjoy the ambiance of this part of the city. The native oak trees are beyond magnificent, and the locals are wonderful. if you are looking for a short retreat or a daily getaway, this place will do just fine.

Great park. Small in space but big on personality. Two water fountains ⛲that kinda cools the breeze. Great place to bring your dogs 🐕 or have a picnic or a kegger. There is soothing for everyone at coliseum park.
