Longwood Inn

For my traveling style, the Inn was a great fit. The room was spotless, the beds comfortable. The office staff were friendly when I had a question.

The old architecture with William Morris-type wallpaper, original woodwork and fireplaces is quite charming. Having access to washer/dryers and the wonderful fully outfitted kitchen were big pluses for us. There’s complimentary morning coffee - just make yourself a pot.

Free parking, great location, easy after-hours checkin with a lockbox (call ahead for instructions.) WiFi was good.

There’s a playground just steps away, perfect if you’re traveling with children.

Some of the room furniture is a bit worn. I wish the lightbulbs were changed out to be “warmer” in tone; it would really elevate the feel of this grand old inn. The rooms are carpeted which can make them feel dated.

But overall I loved staying here and I look forward to coming back.

Stayed here for one night before my procedure at Brigham. We stayed in room 39 on the 3rd floor. Quaint room with a very comfy queen bed. In-room bath was really nice. We stayed on a Friday and it was quite. Nice community kitchen and livingroom. Room and Inn are very clean and well maintained. Strong free wifi and free off street parking. No elevator but the steps are not steep. Not much in the way of toiletries but we always bring our own. Would definitely stay here again.

This place is an excellent stay, be prepared to share a kitchen with others. Neat clean rooms close to shopping and transportation options. 3rd time staying here and this is why. It’s beautiful, quiet enough, great people working here.

This is a very nice place to stay. We stayed 2 nights here before attending a concert at Fenway. The room was very clean and it’s exactly what we needed for a short stay. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance too!

Cosy place with great room service. Place is a little old but still maintained very well. Good location.

What a perfect spot. Affordable. Very clean. Perfectly kept up old inn. Staff were fantastic. Nice rooms. Help yourself type of kitchen to use. Very inviting. I’m definitely going to stay here again the first chance I get.

It was good, very quiet and you feel like you are staying in a house. Theres a by all used living room and a fully equipped kitchen which you can use intermittently freely
I felt like home rather than staying in an inn or a hotel which was a very nice touch

Loved it! Really nice place to stay! Beautiful Inn with clean and comfy rooms, friendly staff and FREE parking! Walking distance to restaurants and Boston U. Nice neighborhood. Will definitely stay there again. Note: No coffee or fridge in the room but both are available in the kitchen.

My husband and I had an excellent stay. Our son had surgery at the Boston Children's Hospital. With the Longwood Inn location, the walk was 15 minutes/half a mile to the hospital. Brookline is a very safe and active neighborhood. Harvard Street is about a half a mile away with dining and shopping. The Inn was quiet, clean, cozy and accommodating. Having a communal kitchen was nice for preparing meals. Something I found helpful from other reviews was to bring your own coffee pot. The kitchen has coffee pots and prepares coffee daily, but it was nice having coffee in the room. The Inn staff was very kind and worked with is when we needed to extend our stay. Another major plus is that parking is free and the parking is off the streets. Our room was cozy with a large, in room, bathroom. We would definitely stay here again!

I spent 10 weeks at the inn while on a travel nursing assignment at Beth Israel Medical Center this fall. The host, Barb was great to work with and the housekeeping team was fantastic!
The Longwood Inn’s free parking is extremely rare in Boston and a great plus. I walked to the hospital to save the $40/day parking fee there.
Amenities were well within easy walking distance and I made the 10 minute walk to the hospital at 10pm 5/week (feeling very safe) and back each morning. The inn was quiet, as I was a night nurse and sleeping during the day. The other guest were most respectful and friendly.
I have already referred other travel nurses to the inn while on travel nursing web sites and then thought to post my review here to let everyone know about this beautiful gem of an inn located in Brookline (Boston) MA!

The Longwood Inn was exactly what we hoped it would be- charming, exceedingly helpful and communicative staff, and great location- less than 10 minute walk to the T and a bunch of great restaurants in Brookline. I really appreciated how the automatically added towels once they saw there were three of us vs just two. Our room was warm- and quiet, despite facing the street. I really appreciated how homey the kitchen and living/ main rooms felt. Will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Boston!

We've stayed here many times for medical trips to Boston. Nice Victorian charm, extremely clean rooms, great neighborhood, convenient free parking. Barb and the staff are great. Honest housekeeping.... I left a valuable ring in the room and it was found and returned.... wow. I can't say enough about this place.

Nice inn within walking distance to medical centers. Clean, quiet and off street free parking was a nice plus. I walked over to Northeastern University in 20 mins. As people mentioned there is no elevator (there are 3 floors), but wasn't any issue for me. I would stay there again.

I am very harsh with my reviews, not generally one to give good ones. However, This place is fantastic! Absolutely gorgeous, super friendly reception and super clean. This is a 1900's Victorian Mansion, full of charm and beauty, with no musty smells. My 1 and only complaint is that the beds are very firm!!! So me that sucked, but im sure someone likes very firm beds. Either way, I still give this place 5 stars.

Very clean, comfortable & overall a beautiful inn. Friendly staff as well. I highly recommend if staying for several days. We stayed in Room 10 with the kitchen, it was like an apartment. Great for 2-3 people. Close to green line & walking distance from restaurants & Trader Joe’s. Nice neighborhood! It was very hot & humid when we visited. We are not used to the humidity, being from Colorado, so it was really nice to have the air conditioners!

Wow. Sandy checked me in and she treated everyone with utmost friendliness, respect - she is very knowledgeable and humble about it too. What a fantastic check in process for a weary traveler! The room is immaculate clean, comfortable. the architecture and decor is charming and fabulous with a mix of old victorian and some modern amenities. This is a really wonderful place to stay while visiting Boston.

I stayed in the apartment which had its own kitchen and was very spacious. The Inn is located in a nice area and I was able to walk to the venue I was attending for a concert at night with no issue.

Rooms are clean and well maintained. Common areas provide plenty of comfortable seating. Kitchen is self service, so if that's not your thing you might think twice but it's very clean and well stocked with coffee and the usual equipment.

The inn was beautiful and very quiet. My family and I were able to park both of our cars, and check in at different times with no issue. The folks checking us in were very friendly. The beds were always nicely made when we got back at the end of the day, and we had fresh towels waiting in the bathroom, which was also lovely. My only qualm would be that the water from the shower was very hot- I had to turn the handle almost all the way back to freezing before the water cooled down. Of course, I'd rather have water be too hot at first than never get hot at all, so that's more of a warning than an issue. Overall, I'd highly recommend staying here.
