Haw Creek Park

It is a small but really nice park with a picnic shelter, bathrooms, baby swings, and walking paths. Most of the trails are paved but there is a small, wood chipped trail that runs behind the shelter to the lower end of the park. The short trails start at the parking lot and end near Creekside Taphouse. There's some nice signage around the park that gives some history about the area. Again, this is a small park and, as others have mentioned, there have been homeless people living in the wooden areas of the park but I didn't see anyone there today.

Investigated this park on 10/12/22 for a group gathering. The condition and number of tables in the shelter will met the need. It has that tucked-in appearance that can be just-right for some events. The leaf-guy riding the tractor was onsite while I was walking about. He takes the clean-up with serious intention..., may he visit each and every park in the coming weeks.

We enjoyed our day. Beautiful grounds. Really nice setting to gather with friends. Restrooms clean as is area. Parking is close to shelter. Definitely will reserve this picnic area again. Thank you!

Lovely small park with walking trails and interpretive signs. The signs tell the history of the immediate area and the origins of the park. Peaceful getaway with adequate parking and even a restaurant and coffee shop nearby.

This is small, but nice little park. Very informative signage about the area and Haw Creek. Very clean and dog friendly with a swing set for small children , covered picnic table and old, but functional grills, benches and public restrooms. Small but friendly and welcoming... parking with handicapped spaces.

This park is a small, sweet part of east Asheille that is subject to possible bad hook-ups and late-night roamers with flashlights. I live next to this park and once heard a woman obviously ambushed in this park and she kept screaming for her purse. I have not heard any such activity lately so I am certain that this park has been safer as of late. It is also right next to Creekside Cafe which is a great neighborhood haunt that seems to be like a great place to meet neighbors, and hang out on the back patio by a mountain creek. Ahhhhhh..... the sweet life!!! 😋

Pretty well groomed trail. We did not make it to the top. It is a switchback, so I assume you work your way to the top of the mountain.

A great place to walk dogs and hang out but it's infested with poison ivy
