WAXON Batik & Dye Studio

Recently did a private DIY sock tie-dye class for a group of 10 and had such a great time! Jess is so lovely and walked us through the process and provided all the tools necessary- our socks came out AMAZING. Loved how hands on and unique the experience was and highly recommend to anyone x

My husband and I went to Asheville for vacation and we booked an ice dyeing class at Waxon Studios while we were there. It was so much fun! Jess was very patient with all of our many questions while she taught us to ice dye. We each brought 2 shirts so we made 4 different shirts that turned out great. So we not only had a fun experience, but we came home with 4 beautiful, unique shirts and the knowledge to make more when we got home.

This is undoubtedly one of the coolest finds in Asheville. We stumbled across the shop and were just dazzled to enter and find the most exquisite clothing items with the most beautiful hand-dyed fabric. We fell in love immediately and decided to take an ice-dyeing class. The class was terrific and gave us a great foundation in the technique to the point where we feel confident (and motivated!) to ice-dye anything at home. The owner, Jess, did the class with us, and we had so much fun. We picked up our clothing pieces the next day and were so amazed by how beautiful everything turned out. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Asheville and would encourage anyone and everyone to visit this store and studio!!!

We did a family ice die class with 9 of us. It was a lot of fun for every age (8-74) and Jess did an amazing job keeping everyone on task! We're definitely going back for batik.

What a great experience! The instructor was thorough and easy going. They have a lot of options available that you can use to do your dyeing. Can't wait to get my infinity scarf and fat quarter back once it is washed.

Jessica is skilled, passionate and incredibly motivated at what she does. Half my wardrobe comes from her ever evolving selection of creations, her classes and workshops are affordable, fun and genuinely educational, she accepts custom orders and executes her projects in a timely, professional, and enthusiastic manner. Highly recommend and support this business!

Myself and 6 friends had a blast tie dying with Jess! The final products were amazing, and the instruction was individualized and easy to follow. She is detail oriented, and so much fun to work with. Pretty soon my whole wardrobe will be Wax On pieces! Can’t wait to come back for another class!

We have taken 2 classes as a family here and always have the best time. Jess is wonderful with showing us how to accomplish the dye but is also so very patient with our child (7 years old). We have done ice dye and tie dye.
We plan to rerun and do batik when our child is a little older. Thank you for a great time!

Jess and her staff are the best. There work is beautiful and you will not find a better place for all your tie dye needs. They really are a 11out of 10 in my book. We are lifetime customers.

My family and friends had a wonderful time at 2 different workshops at WAXON- great instruction, lots of fun and beautiful results. Lovely dyed items in the shop as well. Looking forward to taking more workshops there. Highly recommended!

My nieces, who were visiting from out of town, and I spent an afternoon at WAXON ice-dying t-shirts. We had the best time! The staff was super friendly and patient, and explained the nuances of ice-dying very thoroughly. I wear my shirt all the time & get complemented on it regularly!

Waxon was such a fun place. My friend and I both enjoyed our Batik class and our projects turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend a class for a great time with friends. The staff was great. I’ll be back to do another class.

Going to Waxon Batik and Dye Studio for myself made me realize just how much labor, time, and care goes into each peice that Jess creates by hand. Her designs are so unique and beautiful, she makes wearing tie-dye feel very chic. Not only is she a great designer, but she is a wonderful teacher too! She was so patient and articulate to explain to the group how to make our own dyes look professional. Jess definitely gave me an experience and skills that I can take with me to future arts and crafts sessions. Thank you, Jess!

This is a wonderful space with wonderful people. I thoroughly enjoy my time there, taking a class or just doing batik. They are always creating new things. It is a inspirational place where it is easy to make something of your own. Or let them apply their skills in just the way you hope, for something with your spin.

Jess was so helpful with education about the process of fabric dye. It's a hard service to find these days. Glad to see a shop that still does it.

I was a camp counselor and thought I knew how to tie-dye, but I learned a lot in my class with Hope! She walked me through the entire process and explained the science behind it. She had about 6 colors pre-mixed, but said I could more colors. The cost of the class is super affordable and it was a few more dollars to dye and process a second shirt. This would be a fun small group activity or a family activity for older kids. Thanks for an amazing experience, Waxon!

I stumbled into Waxon while my husband was out golfing. I was looking for some artsy inspiration and had money to burn. Immediately upon entering the studio I became enthralled with the unique and creative designs and dye techniques. I was blown away and tremendously inspired. I purchased a few sale items as gifts and some ice dye for myself, which I later shared with friends at a group vacation. The group was thrilled at how easy and clean the dye process was. I've recently purchased more dye online through the website and the owner, Jess, was responsive and helpful to my naive dye questions. Can't wait to visit again on my next trip to Asheville!

Jessica set-up a booth at the LovEvolution Gathering. I was very impressed watching her do her thing. She has great playful Energy! [My friend said Jessica was excellent with her children] while explaining the science, and giving clear, precise instruction and explanation of why she is doing what she is doing. So, not only do you get to make a beautiful piece of wearable art, you, and your kids, will have a fun time doing so 🙂

I went in initially to buy dyes. The owner and staff were quick to help answer my questions, and they eagerly offered opinions about the different color pallettes I was questioning.
After buying the dyes, I decided to take a class to better understand the process before doing my own projects. The staff who helped me were incredibly kind and patient. She answered all of my questions, and she didn't display any impatience or frustration when I asked several questions.
The prices are more than fair for what you're buying. They dyes and other supplies are high quality. I appreciate the fact that everything is ethically sourced, too.
Overall, this place is amazing. If you ever need to dye anything, please visit this shop. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I did the batik class. It was our favorite thing that we did over our long weekend getaway. Hope, our instructor was awesome. Such a cool experience!! Will definitely come and take another class.
