It is a really beautiful place, to be in contact with nature and also to enjoy a lot of tranquility. and to be able to have a moment of relaxation, the installations are in very good condition... I recommend it...

Loved this campground. The location is great. The creek is wonderful, and the campground host, Beth is awesome. She took good care of us and answered all of our questions. She was a pleasure to speak with. Nearby are beautiful hiking trails, the Blue Ridge Parkway, waterfalls and if you need civilization, the towns of Old Fort and Black Mountain are short drives away. We highly recommend this campground.

We always love our time here, primarily because the absence of any wifi or cell service means we can get away from the constant barrage of emails, texts, etc. A very well managed ca.pground in beautiful surroundings, with charming hosts.

I love Curtis creek there is something for everyone. Fishing, swimming, camping, hiking, biking, or all of the above. Camping is only 10 bucks a night. You can reserve online or go by and look around and hope to catch one of the first come first serve spots. Most of those are only availabe for a night it seems like depending on the time of year, I guess. And they're not always available especially if you show up late.

This place is amazing! There is a beautiful creek by the sites and it's only $10 a night and an $8 reservation fee if you pay ahead of time. I definitely recommend making reservations since they're pretty packed during the warmer season. There are some first come first serve sites, but they were all full. It's well maintained and there are picnic tables and fire pits on every site along with bathrooms (no sinks though). There isn't any cell phone service, but there is in Old Fort 5 minutes away. The maintainer who works there is super nice and really helped us out on our first trip. Also it's not far from Black Mountain and about 40 minutes tops from downtown Asheville, and its 100% worth the drive.

Pretty little campground along Curtis Creek. Plenty of trails to walk. The campground is secluded and quite. There is a friendly host that takes care of any problems. A terrific place to relax and get away from the rat race

This campground was awesome and was one of our favorites we’ve stayed in. Very small and quiet, with no cell service, as others have mentioned - a great place to unplug. The campground was very clean, and all of the sites had spacious, level tent pads.

We stayed in site 004 and were happy with how private it was, with access to the creek directly from the site.

We visited in April 2022 and the road to the campground was hardly a 4WD road, just packed gravel with a few potholes particularly near the bridges, but not extreme at all. 2WD cars would probably do fine.

Highly recommend this campground and can’t wait to go back!

We had an excellent time here. Plenty for kids and adults to explore. One of my personal favorite things was no cell phone signal. That may be a downer for some but it is a pro for me.

Clean, very well maintained campground. Not large which made it nice especially at night so you didn’t hear your neighbors where we stayed. Great access to trails on site, a couple of choices on difficulty. No cell service so great way to disconnect. Access road is gravel so be prepared, our Jeep had no issues but a car would be bumpy for sure. This was our first trip there and we will definitely be back!

One of the best campgrounds east of the Mississippi River. Was able to get in and out easily even in my 32ft motorhome. Friendly hosts, picnic tables, fire rings, bathrooms, water, hiking trails and even a waterfall. Highly recommended and only 8.00 per night from what I remember. Possibly free primitive spots as well but please check the NPS website for prices and seasonal information.

Nice rustic spot by the creek. No electric and latrine toilets. Great hikes from camp. Awesome 4x4 drive up the road to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Unbelievable mountain views and access to hikes for the price. No RV hookups but space to park our 30 footer and smart car. Make sure to check with the host what is available or reserve online. No t mobile up there. Narrow one lane bridges also a bit scary in larger vehicles.

Beautiful spot to camp but you better have all wheel drive. This “road” is gravel at best, washed out at worst. But what a fun trek up the hill!

A place I'd definitely will go back to. Nice and peaceful. Definitely off the grid with no cell phone service. No distractions from your phone 🙂.

Great camping experience! There are spacious sites along Curtis Creek as you drive up to the main campground loop as well as more sites beyond it. The main campground loop (paved loop with campground host and water pump) does have paved sites that are close together with little tree cover, but we enjoyed a much more spacious grassy and wooded site along the creek.

Most of the sites have a leveled gravel area to pitch your tent, a fire ring with a grill, and a picnic table.

Although the town of Old Fort, NC is only a short drive from the campground (Frisbee's is a great stop for groceries) we felt had found a hidden gem tucked away off the beaten path when we pulled in to Curtis Creek.

Other reviews mentioned smelly outhouses - that was not the case. Clean and well-maintained! For $10/night, access to drinking water and clean toilets is everything we needed. If you are planning on a longer trip and would like a shower, this may not be the campground for you.

The campground host was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. He also had a wonderful little dog. Definitely would return!
