Thank you, William, and Island Computers - Our New PC is Running Perfectly!!

We presented William with our issue: my boyfriend upgraded his gaming rig and we planned to use his previous hardware to build out our new PC for our business. He upgraded his rig because after powering on things would freeze and Windows couldn't load. All of the components were top-tier, so after process of elimination we decided the CPU was probably bad and needed replacing. Hence our visit to Island Computers.

William agreed that it's a 50/50 chance a new CPU could solve our problem. He was very adept in how to troubleshoot the systems and determine how to best move forward. At no point was did we feel sales pressure to purchase anything, although we definitely did!

We did need a new case and William showed us his stock, and spent time going over the pros and cons of the different models. He was very honest and detailed. He also recommended how to best cool the new system so we decided to purchase additional fans.

We were happy to give our money to a small business that has top-tier customer service. Go to Best Buy and ask their employees questions... If you do get one to answer politely, I doubt they will have the robust knowledge that William has. He showed us some pictures of other rigs he helped build and you can't get anything like that at Best Buy!

I'm loving my new work computer and can't wait to build upon what we've got setup so far! Photos are in its infancy, graphics card and other components will be installed today!

There come times in life when you recognize that people get paid for what they do, and no matter how many videos you watch on a topic you do not have the expertise or experience . This happened to me when I attempted to build a computer. I mashed part after part after part and finally decided to let the pros look at what was occurring. Lesson learned! The team at Island Computer Systems never once made a negative remark and were actually quite supportive of the fact that I tried. Any team member I spoke with was knowledgeable and seemed passionate about their job....and that is why they are pros and get paid to do it! Communication was excellent throughout the process letting me know what needed to be fixed and offering many options that could work, not just the most expensive. It didn't take long before I got the call that my rig was ready. William spent a lot of time showing me some of the new controls that I was not familiar with, he had everything boxed up nicely and took the time to explain some of the finer points of the build. If I ever need something IT related, this will always be my first and most likely only stop! I can't say enough good things about the respectful manner and amount of integrity at this shop! Thanks ICS team, job well done!

William and Nathan were very helpful with my gaming PC build! Both went above and beyond to get me what I wanted and needed, William explained every part I questioned and even recommended some parts that I didn't think about that were needed. These guys are awesome!

William did an amazing job of building my custom gaming PC last summer. I gave him a budget, listed all of my needs, what games I would be playing etc and answered all of my questions in detail and helped build the perfect rig. Today I forgot my windows password, and within 1 hour, I was back on my system and it’s working flawlessly. I highly recommend William and his staff, and I will absolutely be back when it’s time to upgrade again. I can’t stress the professionalism and down to earth personality these guys have. 5 stars easily and I highly recommend stopping by. Thank you guys again!

TJ helped configure and spec out an awesome gaming PC that fit within my budget, and is just right for the sim racing that it's being used for. I can't say enough about the friendly and professional attitude that everyone I spoke with at Island Computers has. If you're looking for a system build or any kind of computer assistance, I completely recommend them.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. A great place to take your PC to get work done, and a good place if you are a geek and just need to get parts quickly. Pricing is a bit high, but not overly so. I would never expect them to compete with Amazon. It's the convenience of having a wide range of new and used parts available that makes the upcharge reasonable.

Great store! They had the motherboard (ASRock), CPU (Ryzen 5) and RAM (Corsair DDR4 RGB) that I needed to upgrade from my old AM3 board and CPU. I was going to get all the upgrade parts from Amazon but I knew there was another computer store here in town other than Best Buy. I'm glad I went to Karatech, they have more computer parts in stock than Best Buy! Awesome! Now of course all those parts are cheaper on Amazon but this local store had prices pretty close to Amazon. I also got advice on my upgrade and that worked great. Shop local when you can!

Took my computer in for some repairs and a minor upgrade. Employees were knowledgeable and friendly, prices were reasonable and fair, and the turnaround was relatively quick and easy.

I recently needed to upgrade an old off the shelf desktop computer to one that would run cloud-based Photoshop. It takes a lot of computer power to operate the new AI filters that Photoshop is now offering. A friend suggested talking with Island Computers. I found them to be an excellent shop to deal with. They took plenty of time to help work up a solution for what I wanted to accomplish. A lot of time spent discussing various options and answering all of my questions and even more importantly, answering questions that I did not know to ask. Many thanks to all of the staff who were very easy to work with. It is so nice to find a business that truly practices customer service.

Fixed my gaming pc quick and easy. They helped me understand the problem and the communication was great.

Had a water cooler fail, these guys sold me what I needed, fixed it and got it back to me the next day. No hassle, no bloatware on my pc afterward, just offered to upgrade to a larger case if I desired since I talked about it while in the store.

Good people, I'll definitely go back and recommend any of my friends.

Island Computer Systems are angels! I tried to build my own computer and it did not go well. I reached out to them and they were able to
help me out on the same day. They were detailed and prompt in diagnosing, fixing, and building my PC. They were amazing at figuring out my knowledge level and tactful in explaining things to me.
When I got my computer back, it was updated with all the drivers and ready to go when I plugged it in at home. They also gave me helpful advice on my build and for potential issues that could occur, and encouraged me to call them if I have questions.

Sold them a laptop that was collecting dust and got a more than fair price for it, in fact it was more than the big box store offered me. What really got me though was the awesome service, everything was quick and I had an check in hand in less than 24 hours. Will absolutely return for any repairs we may need.

So this place is awesome! I saw the great reviews online and made the drive from Sneads Ferry to use them. Needless to say I was not disappointed! They built my computer for me within days and gave me updates all along the way. Their honesty is the best part of this place. They told me up front some of the issues they might have and that I might need to do a few more upgrades. This was before I have the computer to them so it wasn't like they were trying to swindle me. I really appreciated that. Their employee William was also very helpful exposing everything they h ad done to the computer so that if there were any problems I'd know where to look. This place is the place to go for all your computer needs!

My review is based on the correspondence I had approaching the company to get a price idea of a custom built machine, I gave my desired specs, asking for the price. Very fast reply time (within the hour), excellent advice, customer service, friendliness and knowledge. All my questions answered and cost saving advice without me even asking for it. Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to make a purchase, payment difficulties due to me not owning an American credit card, but if you live in the area, I highly recommend this company!
