Moe's Original BBQ - Wilmington

This is my favorite bbq restaurant in Wilmington. All of the sides are really good. They have sides like Cole slaw, potato salad & baked beans everyday and daily special sides like chili, casseroles, lima beans, black eye peas, mac & cheese etc…. The pulled pork is really good. It is not the normal Eastern NC style but I actually like it better. The slaw is a sweet vinegar style. Taste the same as you would get in cucumbers, onions & tomatoes salad. The corn bread is awesome! The ribs, fried shrimp and catfish are all excellent. The wings are probably the best in Wilmington. You can add a few to any platter. They have a large outside area and screened in area. This is a must try if you are visiting or live in the area.

This is a barbecue place, definitely worth the trip. Go out of your way, detour, add destination to your Google maps. Just make sure you get there. Excellent! Pulled pork, baked beans. Have an amazing balance of heat and sweet. Wait staff is attentive and friendly.

Portion sizes are reasonable, but on the smaller side for my... Appetite. And this place suffers from the same fate everywhere in the south. Rolls that just aren't that good. Very hard to get good bread in the south. To be clear, that is not a knock on their cornbread, which is excellent.

I had the pulled pork, slaw and banana pudding. Everything was really good with decent size portions. The food came out quick and the service was good.

Stopped in for lunch with a recommendation from our daughter. We had the rib platter for 2 w mac and cheese, baked beans and cornbread. We heard the wings were outstanding so we added 3 of them as well. My husband and I had a difficult time deciding what item we loved best. Everything was perfect, including the bartender Andy. He took the time to give us the history of Moe's and also tell us about the menu specials weekly. Andy followed up with treating us with a sample of the banana pudding
Let me just say...I would have never ordered this as not a fan of banana pudding, but I am now. I added it to our wing order for the super bowl. It is an absolute must!! A couple extra things to add, this is a bbq place , things are served on trays w plastic silverware as all bbq should be. It's a very relaxed, neat and clean place. When ordering make sure you know or know to ask about the red or white sauces. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely tops in local NC BBQ! Quality and savory items. Smoked chicken wings here are my ultimate favorite! They can run out fast. Ribs and sides are drool worthy. Once you start, you will be craving it until the next opportunity. They are low key, but have a bunch of customers coming in and out throughout their Open hours.

I picked up some brisket this past Tuesday and it was one of the best brisket I've ever had!! Will definitely be back! Also, the carry-out service was amazing!!

May have been the best smoked chicken (on the bone) I've ever had. Great smoke flavor and juicy. Perfectly cooked. The BBQ sauce was sweet peppery with plenty of vinegar. Perfect! Additionally the collard greens and pulled pork were great! Not listed on the menu were the hush puppies. Minced jalapeno inside pushed then over the top. The greatest. Excellent beer selection and friendly staff. My new favorite.

Moe’s Original BBQ is my go-to spot in Wilmington for mouthwatering BBQ delights. Their ribs are simply amazing, and the smoked chicken wings are a must-try! The fact that they offer a full bar with a great drink selection is the icing on the cake. Not to mention, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. If you’re a BBQ lover, this place is the place. Don’t miss out!

I went for take out, l'll dine in next time. The folks there were very attentive even though there was a line at the registers and its no wonder why. The food was fantastic the portions were fair as were the prices. The sides and corn bread were everything you'd expect from a great bar-b-que spot as was the main bar-b-que entre. Even the fried shrimp were spot on. The only issue l had at all was there was no cocktail sauce only some tasty tartar sauce for dipping lol.

This Barbecue was OUTSTANDING! I got the ribs and my wife got the pulled pork and man when I tell you those ribs were falling off the bone…. I will definitely be revisiting in the near future! Great atmosphere and the service was very friendly as well!

HOT DAMN. So good. Fried pickles were everything you'd want. Not too fried and the seasoning was bomb. Ribs were fall off the bone and really tasty. Not too fatty. They were the best of the meats I tried (ribs, pulled pork, and smoked turkey).

All the sides were good. Cornbread could be better but the chili was awesome.

July 2023. Had lunch here with Chet Cromer after our ACE meeting. NCVA was at Wrightsville Beach that year but we only attended for the meeting. Dropped Chet off at the airport so he could fly his little plane back to Anderson.

Finger lickin’ deliciousness! Finally a unique pulled pork sandwich. I got mine all the way except no pickles. Great sauce, thick smocked pulled pork, slaw, and some really interesting toppings which I devoured before I had a chance to take inventory.

The atmosphere is also great not your typical bbq joint. High end enough to have a sit down dinner with the family.

First time eating there food was great the one guy was very nice to us talked us to make sure we were good will be back

On our anniversary trip to Wilmington, looking for great food, 2 folks recommended 'Moe's Original BBQ' on Leander. We tried it and it was the BEST smoked ribs, chicken wings, also excellent collards, potato salad & cornbread . It was so good, we purchased a cooler to bring this food home with us. We will return soon to enjoy again. Will try the smoked turkey next time. The food is unbelievably delicious! Try it, you will love it too! Thanks Moe's!

Found this place on Insta while trying to find places to try. Definitely a must! It was fresh and so good. I had the smoked chicken Nachos, my son had the smoked chicken sandwich and husband had the Mahi Mahi with sides.

This is the 6th Moe's I've been to. I understand that it recently came back from a bad fire. There was no telling of this on the inside. Great bar, they sell Bushwickers, lots of seating, plenty of sauce, and other condiments. I also enjoyed their outdoor seating that kept the bugs away. They had the general Moe's atmosphere going on. The place was busy too, not that they weren't handling it by any means. Food came in a timely fashion, it was the first Moe's I've been to where they brought it to you. The staff was really friendly.

On to the food. I had the burger special. I was a little hesitant about ordering a burger at Moe's but it was really good, not overcooked. I could taste the meat, lots of toppings. My sides were very good, beans were a bit warm but they cooled down in a second. Sweet potatoe casserole was the standard Moes. Ordered the wing sides. Payed a total of 15 and a few cents for a great meal.

Great alternative to local "Bar B Que." Excellent pulled pork with spicy sauce. Love their cole slaw and cornbread. Good selection of draught beer. Recommend.

There is no better place in Wilmington to eat. I've never had a bad day after eating here. Plate always empty. Banana pudding is insanely awesome.

Smells like my childhood. Tastes like it too. Loved the Tropical Lightning. I think that's the beer I had. Looking forward to visiting again.
