I specifically spoke with staff about the three things that create a flawless experience. Food, service, and atmosphere. They nailed it. This chef here makes every item with love. The plating and display are phenomenal. The staff is pleasant, personable, and efficient. The food was so far above expectations I had to review. The drinks were once again on another level. Now let's get to atmosphere, it was quaint, small but welcoming, and just the right size to feel personable yet provide a booming experience. I will come here again when I am in Virginia. Kait, thanks!!!

Had a great brunch here on Sunday. The food was fantastic. I had a Carnitas bowl with Chili and the wife Shrimp with grits. Everything was very tasty. The bloody Mary was also great. This is a must try in Norfolk Dillon was behind the bar and was very friendly and helpful. This place prides themselves and making things fresh.

Ben killed it yesterday. He had prior notice and delivered on his words.

Everyone enjoyed their food, drinks, and service.

Accommodating 30-40 people on a bar crawl at once isn’t easy. Appreciate you guys being gracious hosts and even better bartenders.

Those old fashions and Moscow Mules were chronic!

Well done!

My wife and I stop by for a drink and vegan chili and it was amazing. The drink we had was “Only god forgives”. The bartenders were amazing and very professional and very knowledgeable.

This place is exactly where you should go if you're in Norfolk. It's small enough to have that intimate feel, but has room for groups to sit at a table. The food is beyond delicious and they have pretty much whatever drink you'd like.

I came here for brunch and really enjoyed the breakfast options. I got a sausage egg and cheese and the bread was so soft! The tater tots were good too! Also the service was amazing even when the place was full.

The food is so good here!!! I've eaten at Toast several times but never left a review. Today's dish changed that. I had to say something today!!! My taste buds and my body did the most silly dance as I enjoyed every bite of my meal! The food was so fresh and flavorful!!! I had the Pig Taco and my husband had the Quiche Me! If you are reading this you must try it!!! The cocktails are great as well! I will be back again very soon!

What a gem right here in Norfolk! Funky place that is totally casual, fun and eclectic, but the food is the star of the show. Anything on the menu rocks. Carnitas bowl, anything with pulled pork-- great! We had spicy bloody Marys with brunch that were great and had all the garnish veggies you could want. Order outside through a window, but you can eat outside on tables or take it in for table and booth dining. Reminds me of Austin, Tx, with the vibe and quality of the food. Close to several craft breweries in Norfolk's railroad section. Highly recommended!

This was crazy good. Had grits with cheese and shredded chicken and she had the city slicker. Absolutely delicious. If you’re going for the first time though, just know the small room across the yard is also part of the restaurant and you can sit in there. Very important fact I didn’t realize until I had melted in the sun for about 20 minutes lol. Drinks were great as well. We will be going back soon.

Great selection of vegetarian and vegan options that are all full on flavor. Outdoor seating when the weather is nice and an indoor dining area on either side of the complex. Big plus, they have rotating boozy slushies that have yet to disappoint. Definitely a gem of Norfolk, with a central location, private parking lot (plenty of street parking as well) and lime bikes a plenty if that’s more your speed. Been here multiple times and cannot recommend enough.

We were visiting Norfolk and chose Toast for brunch. It was nice, hipsteristic place. Food was good. They have outdoor seating and very cute little garden.

Found this gem today. Its a great little brunch spot with a walk up order and seat yourself concept. The food was fantastic my friend and I crushed it. Your sitting around all theses flowers and plants its super relaxing. My mimosa hit the spot. Cannot wait to go back!

Friendly, low key, quick food . The menu is pretty original, although no vegetarian options. There is seating inside or out. Outside is a beautiful wild garden. Music sound is comfortable.

This is the last time I will have a chance to dine here for a few years. Moving out west.. this place really feels like a portal to my hometown NE Portland, OR.. so lovely, the food and the personalities. Today I had a bullet proof coffee which this place does like no other, and a pulled pork 'taco' on wheat.. delightful. I'm pleased Toast is finding a way to keep on keeping on through the Pandemic. Thanks folks, for what you do!

Was down there for the Lava event. Had the Naked dog. It was so good.
Their little seating area outside is to cute with all the wild flowers growing. Loved it.

Quiche Me: bacon, egg, onion, and Gruyere egg in flakey pastry with baby kale salad and carrot miso dressing. It was yummilicious. I love the texture of the flakey pastry, so light and airy. The egg, onion, and bacon, common ingredients, but they did a great job combining them and seasoned them. The salad was delicious and I love the dressing.

The weather was great that day so the outdoor seating was wonderful. Great place to have a small group brunch.

Positively spectacular! I cannot stress how awesome this place is. It was my first time visiting and the bartender took excellent care of me. He made great recommendations and even got me an off-menu dessert! I had an open faced carnitas dish and washed it down with a nice busky cider. For dessert, i had a beet chocolate cake slice (yes the plant) with a scoop of ice cream. The cake was as delicious as it was innovative and they gave me a very generous portion. The decor is fun and chic featuring brick walls with lots of book accents and a decorative pay phone that adds a hint of retro to the mix. The vibe is upbeat and fun, even on a rainy Thursday night in May. Overall, Toast is hands down the best restaurant I've been to in Norfolk. You cannot not visit Norfolk without visiting Toast. Nuff said.
