Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy (official name: AllianceRx) is the only place in the north Texas area to buy certain drugs. It's not like a regular pharmacy: most of their business is done through the mail. They're not optimized for foot-traffic, although you can pick up prescriptions in person.

They also take a surprisingly long time to process orders. Because they're set up for mail (not pickup), don't expect same-day turnaround. They CAN do it, but it's like trying to move heaven and earth. If possible, your doctor's office should try to call the prescription in two days before you actually need the drug. At least for local orders, they do next-day courier delivery for free.

If you have to pick up your medication in person, the building is in an industrial-looking/warehouse-looking office park. There's a security guard who will buzz you in. Then you wait in the small lobby for a pharmacist to come out with your medication. Lobby hours are different from phone hours. The lobby is open Monday - Thursday 9:30-5:30, Friday 1-5:30, and Saturday 9:30-2.

Phone hours are Monday - Friday 7-7, Saturday 9-3.

I've been getting my medication filled from AllianceRX for a while now and they call me at least 2 weeks before my refill is needed so the delivery can be arranged well before I run out. The people I speak with are usually very friendly and very helpful. But this last refill has been nothing but trouble. I have been trying to get my chemotherapy meds for 2 weeks and have had multiple calls (at least 2 a day for 5 days) and at least one hangup while I was navigating the phone tree. I am changing my review from 4 stars to 2 stars for this last refill fiasco.

These people could make Gandhi curse. Starts out with the most horrible on hold music you've ever heard, I wouldn't even call it music I would call it torture (hasn't changed in years). Be prepared to make multiple calls regarding your order - patient portal is useless. People are nice. Company is broken. Whoever is responsible for on hold experience should be locked in a box an made to listen to it 24/7 until driven insane - then they should have to get their meds here.

This provider would be rated on a negative scale if possible. The staff is incompetent and their internal inability to correctly process authorized medications and ship them in a timely manner has resulted in multiple days of missed work on my part and delays in treatment. I am completely frustrated and wish I could use a different provider.

This is the absolute worst business and pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They have had my Prolia rx since Dec.12, 2023 and I still have not received it. It is one excuse after another, my doctor's office and I have given them numerous authorizations to send the drug, but it still hasn't been done. They are completely inept, unorganized and dangerous! Thanks to Alliance BlueCross for forcing me to use this completely inept and unprofessional pharmacy. I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Board of Pharmacies.

Disorganized and they don’t keep medication in stock. I would never use or rely on this pharmacy if I didn’t have to use them because it’s who my insurance uses. I had a week long delay/interruption in my treatment due to the way this pharmacy ships the medication the last minute and then didn’t have the inventory to send my medication for an entire week!
How does that happen?! Especially when I get treated with the medication twice weekly and am I am on a set Monday and Wednesday treatment schedule through the month of December.
Someone needs to fix these processes because this is just wrong to do to patients.

If there would be a NO star that is what it is. I waited 5 days for my prescription and spend at lieast 3 hours on the phone to get it. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever encountered. And I will never use it again.

They never even tried to reach out to tell me my medication was being sent to another pharmacy which now has caused me to not have it and go into withdrawal which will ultimately cause a relapse

The pharmacist here Charlotte S is very rude and has a horrible attitude. I don’t understand why anyone unfriendly would choose to work in this field if they’re not going to show patience and compassion for their customers. The woman hung up the phone mid conversation of me speaking I can only imagine how many other people she has treated this way.

If the option for 0 stars were available, that is what I would do! My neurologist's office, Dr. Asher Imam with Southlake Neurology, had his assistant Hailey contact you beginning January 3, 2023, to verify my insurance for my Botox order that is to be delivered directly to Dr. Imam. Hailey contacted your office multiple times demanding my insurance and discount card be verified, but all she got as a response was "the representative sent an email marking the request to verify as urgent." I spoke with Davone on Monday (1/09) requesting this get verified and investigated. Davone advised the "email had been sent" and it was "marked urgent." I notified Davone that I had my appointment on Thursday (1/12) and this needed to get completed ASAP. He advised me that it would be. I received a call from Hailey with Dr. Imam's office advising that my appointment would need to be canceled as your office still had not verified my insurance and discount card information. This has now caused me additional harm as beginning another migraine cycle that took 3 months to break last time. You have had more than 7 days to get this information verified, especially since there haven't been any changes and you have been providing this service for 2+ years. Absolute negligence on your company's part! Intentionally harming a patient! Despicable!

I unfortunately have no choice but to get my Spravato filled here. What can I say that hasn’t been said by many, many others? They deliver the medication when they feel like it, not when it’s needed. On hold for 30+ minutes. When these clowns finally pick up they don’t help. This medication is supposed to keep me from taking a long walk off a short pier but it’s been a month without a delivery or ANY UPDATE AT ALL. 0 stars. —1928282 stars. This isn’t a pharmacy this is a portapotty on fire rolling down a hill towards a park full of kindergarteners

This is the worst service that I have ever had in my life. I canceled a prescription because of my health and never once did they tell me that the doctor had to discontinue it. They filled the prescription and now that I am trying to send it back they denied me and made up lies to cover themselves. DO NOT GO TO THEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR WELLBEING!

My 4 year old daughter has epilepsy and receives a prescription that has to be filled through Alliance per our health insurance. I called on Thursday and refilled the prescription to be delivered on Friday. Friday afternoon, I received a call that went to voicemail. When I call later around 6 p.m., I was told that my card did not go through. I asked them to run it again because there were more than enough funds in the account to cover the cost of the prescription, they did so and it went through without any problems. Clearly the problem with payment was on their end, not mine. Then I was told that the soonest that they would now be able to get it to me would be Tuesday. My daughter will be out of her medicine before then. This is a neuro medication. It's for her brain. She cannot just stop taking it for a little bit and then start taking it again. She is going to have seizures all day after she runs out. I offered to drive to their office and pick it up. They are open on Saturday, I could get it tomorrow. But they won't let me pick it up. It can only be delivered. And they won't do anything to get the medication to me any sooner knowing that I will be out of medicine. So I guess their screw up is my 4-year-old daughter's problem. Great. Thanks so so much.
