Andy helped us find our home about 2.5 years ago when we transferred in from Travis AFB, California to Lackland AFB TX. Recently, I contacted Andy to ask him if he could contact the previous owner of the home to find out which roofing company installed a new roof on our home back in 2015 as we are seeing water damage in the walls. Andy answered me within the hour and told me he would be contacting the previous owner to find out. Andy was able to give me an answer within 24 hours and now the roofing company is coming out on Wednesday free of charge as their labor is warranted for 10 years and transferrable! I recently found a home for sale on Zillow with a listing agent from CBDHR. I called the listing agent and set an appointment to view the home. When I arrived at the scheduled appointment, the listing agent indicated that I needed to sign a “buyers” representation from CBDHR. When I informed him that I did not need representation from him, as I am an experienced buyer, he informed me that CBDHR would not go to closing unless I signed the form. I had just sold a home as “For Sale by Owner” two weeks prior to this incident and have bought previous 2 homes without a buyers representation. I have cash in hand and a pre-approved letter from my bank. I’m also an AF veteran so I can get a VA guaranteed loan. Under Texas law, he must disclose to the owner any material information known to the agent. So, I wonder if he told the seller, whom he represents, that he turned away a buyer for either incompetence or greed. Also under Texas law, he is obligated to treat both the buyer and the seller honestly. I believe he failed both parties on the “honestly” part.
