Highcrest Apartments

I lived at Highcrest for 11 years. It’s well kept and Cathy and Jeff will take good care of you. Maintenance was typically the same day, the next day at the latest. It’s very quiet and peaceful despite being just off campus and basically has its own park at the rear of the complex. It is the first stop on the Texas State tram route (or was then) and it sits at the perfect spot in San Marcos - roughly equidistant from 35 whether you take Wonder World, Guadalupe, Hopkins or Aquarena. If you ever hit traffic, you have three other options to escape.

I have lived at Highcrest from August 2018 to now. The apartments are older, but the staff do what they can to ensure it is a great place to live. They have come for the smallest inconveniences (ex. When I couldn't figure out to unclog the bath tub drain). Cathy has always been super helpful when discussing legal subjects. The entire staff is great to talk to in general. The complex itself is great. The pools are well maintained. The complex is quiet & always looks pristine. The people here are also great. It is also very dog friendly here.

I really can't express how amazing it is living here. I always hear horror stories about people's apartments here in San marcos and I have none to tell. If/when I move, it will be extremely hard. Leaving the staff, the people, the complex will be sad. For now I'm gonna continue enjoying my stay here.

I really enjoy the time that I lived here. The stuffs are friendly and the environment here is so comfortable. We have hot spring here and two swimming pools, which can help me relax a lot and get away from the heavy school tasks. The deer are cute, which you can always see out of the windows. The maintains is quick and responsible. If you want to find an apartment that not far from campus and want to live in a quite place. I will definitely recommend this apartment to you! Plus, you will pay less than most of the apartments with convent school trolley stops and the short distance to TXST.

What a gem of the hill country! I absolutely loved my cozy little apartment, it was perfect. Great space size. I leased for a year and had no complaints, the office provides what you need and at the time, would set up socials for residents which was so neat! I loved the quiet community. Everyone was respectful and the staff was always so friendly and helpful! Though I never had any complaints/concerns, I always knew that anything of that nature would be addressed quickly. Maintenance was friendly as well and very quick and helpful.
Highcrest was a great start! I never renewed my lease due to health (autoimmune) issues that caused me to go home for a while, but had that not happened I would have happily stayed as a resident.
Definitely recommend to anyone who loves a small quiet community where residents are friendly and respectful. No noise complaints, no parties. I was 24 when I moved in and it was perfect for me. I've seen plenty of families with and without children, couples, students, working adults of all ages and young adults who are getting their life started as residents, Highcrest really is perfect for any and everyone.
Bonus... walking distance to an amazing coffee shop! Another bonus, awesome pools, a basketball court, AND a hiking trail head behind the buildings! Plenty of things to do on foot.

Loved Highcrest!

Love it here at Highcrest! Bryce and Kathy are so pleasant and know what they’re doing. Bryce made the whole move in so easy and welcoming. Mind you, we moved here at the start of this pandemic and they were nothing, but accommodating. We love the high arched ceiling in the living room. Not to mention, the patio is a great size for an apartment. Neighbors have all been polite and respectful with picking up after their animals. There’s a small trail to take a nice stroll on, as well. The real selling point for us, was that the complex is not just full of college kids. It’s a mixed batch and students that live here are respectful. We look forward to the rest of our stay here:) Thank you!

I have lived here for 2 years, and I can honestly say I regret having to leave. The only reason I am not resigning at this property is because I am moving to a different city. Cathy is by far the best manager you could ask for at a complex. She not only genuinely cares about her residents but she does whatever she can to make sure you are happy. Once my A/C froze up. I fixed it by turning it off and back on, but she told me that I shouldn't have to deal with that and got the awesome maintenance staff to stop what he was doing to look at it. Maintenance is fantastic and the walking trails are awesome, especially if you have dogs. Bryce is the assistant here and he has a fantastic personality to the point that you are excited to pick up your mail. I would recommend this place to anyone in the San Marcos area. I am said to leave this gem behind.

I have lived in San Marcos for about 8 years and the last two I have spent at the Highcrest Appartment have been easily the best. Cathy and Bryce have always been great to work with .They know us by name and always felt comfortable talking to them about anything. Maintenance requests are always taken care of and the maintenance staff is awesome. The grounds themselves are so much cleaner than other apartments in San Marcos and the apartments are right on a bus stop which is a big plus. The Rec is also super close. Easily best apartment experience in San Marcos.

Living at highcrest my last year of university was by far the best experience I had with housing in San Marcos! Bryce and Cathy were the best and were always kind and responsive in regards to any inquiry. It is quiet and peaceful, and packages went to a safe location. Genuinely the best place to live in San Marcos, I only wish I had lived here sooner before graduating.

Great maintenance and response. Small complex feels like a family with only 130 units. Beautiful views, lots of wildlife due to the wildlife sanctuary behind the complex.

I've lived in San Marcos for 10 years, and this is by far the best apartment that I've lived at. Maintenance is done quickly. The office staff, Kathy and Steven are great, very friendly.

I lived at Highcrest for a year and I loved it. I never had any problems with the managment and the maintenance staff was always on top of things. The property grounds were always clean and the community is very well lit. I definitely recommend this place.
