Little Mexico

We have been coming here since 1976. Love the unique play on Mexican style food. We always have the green chili,( also one to go) hard shell tacos, and enchiladas(cheese and green onion for me and beef for hubby with the green sauce. You can’t beat the texture of the chips and the salsa is very flavorful.We will continue to stop by anytime we are in the area. Great service every time!

Meal was delicious tonight! But our server Kelly made the difference. She was very attentive and super friendly.

My husband & I eat here weekly. We absolutely love it. Carl's service is second to none.

Have been going to this restaurant since I was a kid! Have followed them to every location they moved to. The building they are currently in looks like A Mexican Disney world it's so cute. The waiters are dedicated and friendly. Carl is the best of the best. I love the cheese and onion enchiladas and house dressing.

I love Little Mexico. There's just something about it. The food is always good and the service (Carl) is fantastic.

Best chips and cheese dip in town in my opinion. I have loved this community staple since I was a little girl and I'm so thankful that I get to enjoy this little piece of my childhood.

We have been eating here for MANY years. Always good and always the same. Good service and great atmosphere. Different from the ordinary run of the mill Mexican restaurants. Highly recommend. Love that they have caffeine free Diet Coke for those of us who are diabetic and do not handle caffeine.

I love to go here to eat. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. I am a big disney fan and this place reminds me of the Mexican pavilion at Epcot.

We have always had excellent food when eating there! Have ordered many different items/dinners from the menu, and have been very satisfied with everything. The enchilada dinners are awesome! Very beautiful building, painted very neat on the inside with a nice dimmer setting. Service has always been great. Prices are very reasonable. I was very surprised to see so many negative reviews. We've never had any bad experiences at this restaurant. Plan to go back again soon. For new customers, it's definitely worth the try. Judge your own experience & form your own opinion. We give 5 stars!

Little Mexico is by far my favorite restaurant and always has been since I was a kid. I'm 23 and I've been going since I was little with my family. We made it weekly tradition to go every Saturday for dinner and to have our favorite waiters and waitresses treat us with nothing but great service. To this day, I go with my best friend and my waiter has had my order by heart for years. The food is fresh and wonderful. Even the refreshments are amazing and very crisp EACH TIME. I thank you Little Mexico for always treating me so well. Everyone please go and support Sal. :)

The food was amazing as always, prices are a lot higher than they were 5 years ago before we moved out of state. But they are the only place you can get the BEST CHEESE & ONION ENCHILADAS, & their Salsa is still the best. They did need more staff to serve customers but our waiter did good!

Loved it! One of mattoons best restaurants. The food was delicious and the service was great. I would recommend Little Mexico to everyone I know!!!

I've always loved Little Mexico since I first went to it on Rudy in Mattoon, thought it was closed and gone forever because so many people and I went to eat there made me sad it was gone!!
Now I've been introduced to its new location and have been several times through the last year and loved it and will always Love Little Mexico! I feel with the elegance of the place it would better be served with same servers! The greeting isn't met with a smile though the good bye is needs to be both ways! Curious what happened to the old owner he was spot on with the customers I'm not sure why we don't see more beautiful souls like him! He greeted everyone with a smile the whole time you were there.

Great food... great bartender... spectacular decor throughout the entire restaurant. Nice place to hang out at the cantina for some beers, shots, food and sports! Owner... Cash... is a very professional and courteous man, and gracious as well. Will definately return often, as small town business owners are willing to give you better service, better quality foods, and are more customer oriented. Great establishment

Back under Sal's ownership. They are managing the Covid seating restrictions well and the food is delicious! My recommendation is the Mr. or Mrs. Mexican and mix the house dressing with your salsa for a creamy chip dip.
