Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield, an IHG Hotel

I was in town while my dad had a heart procedure in Springfield. The Crowne Plaza was slightly cheaper in the IHG app but I chose this hotel for the free breakfast. Monique was working the front desk when I checked in and she was super sweet and answered all of my questions. The side entrance was not unlocking properly so after I told her, staff were working on it within 15 minutes. The gym was larger and had more equipment than many of the other Holiday Inn Express hotels I've stayed in. The treadmills had virtual walk/run options which were fun. Headphones and towels were provided and the gym was very clean. I would stay here again!

We had checked into an air bnb and it was so filthy we couldn’t stay there. We were able to book a room at the holiday inn express quickly, the rate was very reasonable, check in was quick, lobby was clean! We went to our room on the third floor. Room was very clean, beds are super comfortable, nice chilly temperature at night which is perfect for sleeping, dove products in the bathroom! Great water pressure! We were so comfortable here. Decent breakfast, really neat pancake machine! Eggs were over cooked, but turkey sausage was yummy. I wish there was more fruit. Only a few apples in the bowl.

My only two small complaints were a strong marijuana smell in the first floor hallway as we made our way to the elevators, and the bathtub is VERY slippery. I almost fell getting in the shower. Thank goodness there’s a bar in there to grab.

Thank goodness for this hotel, we were able to get some rest in a comfortable clean room and I would absolutely stay here again!!

The front desk personnel were very courteous and helpful. Breakfast offerings were very good and being refreshed routinely.

The hotel was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was great with some restaurants nearby.

I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel and do it justice. I found myself in a sketchy situation over the weekend with the hotel I originally booked. Not only was Samantha at the front desk incredibly welcoming, she helped me book a room and move in to it immediately since my stay down the road was less than ideal. I was able to get checked in before standard check in time, which allowed me to safely shower and prepare for my event that day. The hospitality was above and beyond. My room was impeccably clean, it was surprisingly quiet for being on the first floor during a fair convention, and I felt completely safe. I also was able to extend my stay when my plans changed last minute Sunday. The breakfast was superb. Overall the experience was GREAT and I’ve never been so comfortable traveling by myself.

Room was ok. Bed looked like a 10 year old made it, but it seemed clean. Room was quiet. Breakfast was not good, think I got something that was bad. Bad case of stomach problems the rest of the day.

The beds were comfortable. The room was clean and well-appointed with very nice lighting. I was surprised and pleased to find a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, and safe! Everything in the room was in good working order. There was delicious bacon and tasty egg white omelettes for breakfast and the unexpected treat of mini CinnaBons. It seemed like a good value for the money. The staff was friendly and the whole property seemed to be in great condition.

My family and i enjoyed our stay. The room was perfect and clean. The breakfast was amazing. The Gm was such a nice guy. He made us feel right at home. I have stayed here before just passing thru and I love the upgrades. The bed was so comfy. Cant thank the Gm and the staff enough they were amazing.

All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were all clean and even had a Keurig in the room. Breakfast was nice in the morning. I didn't use all of the facilities available, but saw families heading to and from the pool area. No complaints, had a great experience.

Even though there was evident renovations taking place, it still had a modern cozy feel. The room was very clean. We really enjoyed the subtle lighting of the room. They had already had the a/c on so it was not stuffy upon arrival. The front desk clerk was very nice.

We were stranded in Springfield for a few days. The 1st night we stayed at another local well known hotel. Then we were blessed with the Holiday Inn Express. We had been desperately searching for a decent hotel that accepted CASH...(no one accepts cash anymore) The manager happily said Yes we accept cash. She also gave us an Excellent Rate as we were staying 3 days. The hotel is clean and smells very pleasant. The free breakfast is amazing!!! Rooms in general are reasonably priced. The room we stayed in was spotless. Plus guests have the privilege of using the Crowne Plaza's Swimming Pool next door. 100% Satisfied & if we are ever back in the area again we will most definitely stay here again.

Spent one night here. Arrived late but room was ready when I arrived. Breakfast was great, staff was great and great stay overall.

I liked the room. It was clean and well equipped. I liked the color theme and decor. Much better than the previous generation Holiday Inn Express. Staff were very friendly. Location is very close to many restaurants.

I stayed here for a week with a big family and my dog. The room was very very nice and their handicap room were very helpful despite the bed being too tall for my grandmother. The staff was very nice as well and very helpful. The rollaway are in fact actual full sized beds and there isn't much room for them in the double bedrooms. In order to get the most bang for our buck we left the boxsprings and took the mattress and used it on the floor. There are other dogs in the building and no dog smell. There is an easily accessible door on the side next to a field in the back to walk your pet. The workout room is nice and clean.

We stayed here the night before the eclipse-4/7/24. We came from Rockford, and due to the price gouging going on, Springfield was the closest we could get to Carbondale without paying ridiculous prices.The man at the front desk (I think his name was Anthony) remembered us from 6 years ago when we stayed one night! Double queens were booked, so we got a king with sofa bed, which was fine, I knew they were probably booked solid. I asked for bedding for the sofa bed, and got it within minutes. Anthony and the rest of the staff really know how to treat people. We were treated like they wanted us there, and everyone had a smile. The hotel is very clean, and I couldn't believe how comfortable my bed was. I slept soundly through the night and I never do that at hotels. Never! I'm usually up every half hour, flipping from side to side, in pain. This is definitely where we will stay when we drive down again.

We stayed here last year around the same time and neither my wife nor I remember this hotel being so updated. Don't quote me, but they seem to have renovated?

My wife is super-pumped about the Watkins soap which is a nice touch.

Looking forward to staying here again!

Family and I were volunteering at the state fair and we found out the room our group booked wouldn't accommodate our party. Eli to the rescue! Eli found an adjoining suite with enough beds for the 6 of us and got it fixed, at the group discount AND on the first weekend of the fair! Rachel helped me book in everyone and her and Jacob were kind enough to make sure the rooms were adequate, which everything was above and beyond. Clean linens, towels, rooms, even in the sleeper sofa! I will DEFINITELY stay here if I come through Springfield again.

The hotel is wonderful. The breakfast selection is excellent. Also the room was comfortable and the price for the accommodations were reasonable. The location is near some great eateries and other small shopping areas.

Checked in late and got a Free upgrade to a GIANT suite with 2 sofa sleepers, dining room and separate bedroom. Who knew the HIExpress even had rooms this size! Good breakfast choices. Grandkids loved the do it yourself fresh pancake maker. Free access to connected Crown Plaza with rooftop pool, sauna, hot tub.

We needed a pet friendly hotel and was glad to find someplace that allowed cats. The room was clean, hotel staff friendly and quick to deliver anything we needed. The bathroom was EXTREMELY clean, (a big plus in my book). I would definitely recommend this place.
