St. Katharine Drexel Parish

Beautiful little church with a brilliant, friendly staff of canons to preach and minister to the faithful. Really a treasure to have a refuge of timeless Catholic tradition here in central Illinois, a refreshing breath of fresh air from all the dated 1970s liturgies that are the norm. The new Masses and catechesis have had the tendency to appear shallow and ushered many younger Catholics like myself out of the Church in our youth. The canons here remind us that the Church has something to offer that the world doesn’t, for which I can’t thank them enough. God Bless this parish and I wish them many thriving years to come!

Just went mass here for the first time since a friend’s wedding 30 years ago. Very warm and welcoming priest, and what a beautiful parish with a traditional feel that I have been searching for. I look forward to attending here again.

Sacred Heart is the oldest Catholic Church in Springfield, Illinois. The masses and liturgies at Sacred Heart Church, whether in Latin, English, or Spanish, are truly sanctifying. The awe-inspiring sacred space and holy priests enable transcendence, which has been lost in many places of worship. Having grown up in the parish and having attended school there, I always look forward to returning "home" whenever I walk through the doors. Check it out...you will be glad you did!

Beautiful Old School Church where you can truly hear the Holy Spirit touch your inner heart and soul.The priests are so reverent and the Spanish Mass is like in Old Mexico- no noise or distractions only you and the almighty together- James

The cannon's regular that run this parish truly gave this parish a shot in the arm.. This church was on the verge of closing but they revitalized it and brought new people to it and I'm sure brought new people into the faith what a great place for worshipping the Lord

I've only been to Sacred Heart, but not St Patrick. The Latin Mass at Sacred Heart is reverent, and full of prayerful contemplation. When you enter Sacred Heart Church, you will be inspired by its sacred beauty.

I love being a member of this church. The priests are so nice and welcoming, always a good message. The parishioners are very caring and nice.

Wonderful priests and I love the Latin Mass here. Confessions are also before every Mass, which is very convenient.

Unfortunately, I was at Sacred Heart for my favorite Aunts Funeral. I once lived in Springfield and visited the Church before.

Great place for the Latin Mass in the Springfield area. A unique and beautiful Church makes a nice, but non distracting backdrop to the Mass and even goes hand in hand.

If you want a traditional mass with a high level of reverence and respect that most churches have forgotten then this is the place for you. Also has a great Latin mass.

If u want God in your life, this is the place, this is your church! Go talk to God! U feel the presence of the Holy Spirit when u enter this church.
