Finback Alehouse

We had dinner here two nights ago. Most of the surrounding establishments were closed or no longer serving food. It was about 8:30/8:40pm. So, we were told to check out this place. Which worked out well. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We had the fish tacos that was packed with flavor. We also had the fish and chips which were tasty and a large portion. We both opted for pints of the Sea Dog Blueberry Ale, which was also tasty. The service, food and atmosphere were all enjoyable.

Great little spot. I grabbed a pint of Allagash white and quite enjoyed it. The fish and chips were awesome. It was a lot of food and I didn't quite finish it all.

The atmosphere feels comfortable here and the fish and chip was amazingly delectable!! Like the tartar sauce was tasty!!
Spicy burger was delicious too…but was not remotely spicy at all!! Still good so no complaints.
Drinks were good tooo!!!
Would definitely return here as a tourist!!

Had some killer fish n chips and a nice beer. Too many places put "fish n chips" on the menu and then serve you some little nuggets of fish. Knowing this, I searched each place and looked up photos of their fish n chips until I found this one. This was a huge filet of fish, battered and fried nice and crispy. Definitely lived up to the photo.

I can't say enough good things about Finback Alehouse. From the service to the food everything was wonderful. I had a very good chat with the bartender about the best collection of unicorn bourbons I had ever seen at any bar. If you are visiting Bar Harbor Maine, definitely stop in!

Ordered some rosemary fries, mussels, and a pretzel along with a few cocktails. Everything had high quality ingredients and was delicious. Great selection of craft beer to try, cocktails were interesting, well balanced and well made. Hats off to the bartender! Great place to stop for a drink, don't overlook the food, it is quite good!

The Buffalo chicken dip is to die for 😍
Walked in not sure what to eat one day, and the friendly bartender kept me entertained, while the amazing kitchen kept me full!
A great place to meet friends, or to wander in and ask about the area! 10/10 would go back!

What a find! First, great service which is hard to find these days. Fish taco appetizer was amazing. We had the brisket cheesesteak sandwich and the fried haddock sandwich. Both were delicious. Don’t forget there Rosemary fries. You won’t leave one on the plate

This is my 3rd time here in the past year. And will now be my go to when I visit Bar Harbor. Finback Alehouse serves craft beer, local fare and has entertainment.

Their menu features Snacks & Apps, Salads, Soups, Sandwiches, Smash Burgers and Entrees.

The Bartender Matty P brings the karaoke on Tuesdays. They serve full cocktail bar, drafts, sours, ciders & seltzer, domestics, craft cans, wine and of course mocktails.

If you are in the area make sure to stop in and support local.

While the rest of Bar Harbor closes at 9, this place is open late. Food service stops at 9, but people keep on coming in because there bartender is brilliant! He knows all stuff about the town, all while making drinks and welcoming everyone as they walk in. We spent two nights there. Wednesday they have some of the only music around with open mic night. Definitely worth the stop for a night time drink.

Had a Cubano with waffle fries. The bread was toasted perfectly, had a nice crunch. Some of the best waffle fries I’ve had. Also had nachos with chili and buffalo chicken dip for appetizers.

Friendly service and a great bar. We ordered the lobster melt and really liked that. It was full of lobster and avocado. As a starter, we got the bacon scallop dish and boi was it delicious. We also ordered the Mac n cheese lobster dish. It came chock full of lobster but the macaroni was lacking in flavor. It was still delicious.

We went for drinks. One of the few places that stays open later in bar harbor. They have a great variety of beers on tap from local breweries. We were able to get flights even though they weren’t on the menu. The owner and bar tender were friendly. Bar seating was available and social distancing was enforced. Beers are on the more expensive side, but they have a lot of unique flavors on tap.

Finback never disappoints! A must stop if you are in Bar Harbor!! Highly recommend the lobster poutine if you are up for the indulgence. Lots of fresh lobster meat including whole claw meat. Couldn’t include a better picture because we devoured it too quickly. The menu has soo many options, most variety I’ve seen in town.

We sat outside and had the arancini starters, lobster roll with house made chips and blueberry donuts with ice cream. Everything was fantastic! Great local beers and service, too!

Great food with friendly staff. Got the Pulled Pork sandwich with their blueberry BBQ sauce which was very good and unique. Came with a side of waffle fries which were fried to perfection.

This place was a great find, very celiac friendly! The waiters were very nice, the food was great, and the wooden vibe was super cool. I had the Cesar salad with haddock and it was cooked perfectly.

Great blueberry beer and awesome smoked salmon appetizer! We really enjoyed it!

We wondered into this place after coming off of a foggy cold sail and we were so glad we did. Drinks were wonderful, fish n chips were out of this world ( the burgers looked amazing as well) and the blueberry pie was 😋

This was my first time having blueberry pie so I have nothing to compare it to but as a baker I can say the pie was excellent

Maaaaaan! If you come here you HAVE to try the cowboy smash burger! It was DELICIOUS. The blueberry BBQ sauce might not sound appetizing to some but being from the south, felt like that was the right alleyway for me to get in on the Maine blueberry craze.

Good service, but the burger I had was the staple. Let my wife try it and she said it was amazing as well.

If you want a good burger that's not too expensive (and worth every penny) come this way for a burger for SURE!
