We camped three nights in Acadia NP and decided to stay one more night in the area but the National Park was booked so we looked for other options and landed here. This place was awesome and I wish we’d found it sooner! You get to pick your own spot which is so cool. Literally drive through, find your spot then go pay! We had a tent and there’s an ocean view tent only lot where we ended up. It was perfect. Ocean views and SO quiet. On top of that- super clean bathroom & HOT showers 👌🏼 We were still close to everything in the National Park as well as Bay Harbor. The two women working were also the sweetest. Highly recommend this place!

This campground is one of the cleanest well kept campgrounds I have stayed in. The bathrooms were impeccable!
The staff is kind, friendly and very helpful.
You can drive through and pick your own site, then report back to office.
The price is great, the view was beautiful.
It is very quiet. There is not a lot of "light pollution " so the night sky is quite visible and lovely!

We absolutely love coming here. It is always cash only and no reservations, but we've always gotten a site.

Bathrooms are relatively clean, they just get used often.

The bus stops here which is fantastic to avoid driving into the park or downtown.

It was a very amazing place to stay because first of all they have everything tune 13 like a playground and a pool and the pool overlooks a very nice view. There is also a lot of blueberries and it is not overly expensive. The campsites are pretty big and pretty nice.

Due to the hurricane our original campground was closed so we got a tent site here last minute ($38). Usually we try to avoid RV parks because we prefer a quiet, wooded experience but honestly this was great. There are tons of sites to choose from and they let you pick the one you want. Because there were still so many open we chose the ocean-front view which was AMAZING. And no extra cost for the view! We did notice some of the other wooded sites were very, very small so it would stink if you got stuck with one of those. They have all of the amenities: bathrooms, showers (very clean), laundry, game room, pool, etc. And it's location is close to everything, a short drive to down town.

This place is perfect! The campground is very quiet, staff is very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Other campers are couples older and younger, and families too. There's a playground for the kids, and tent sites with an ocean view, as well as tentsites further in the trees for windbreak and privacy. The facilities are spotlessly clean, and even the wifi works great, which if you've been to a lot of these you know is uncommon.

Right out front is an Island Explorer stop that's listed on all the schedules, plain as day. The bus comes first thing in the morning, and every 30min all day, makes it so easy to get anywhere and everywhere you want to go! Downtown Bar Harbor, the Acadia visitor center, and from there every favorite spot in Acadia! I didn't have to worry about parking anywhere at all, and folks can have a good time in the evening and come back safe to the campground.

I'll definitely be coming back, and bringing the whole family next time!

Loved our stay here. We knew they didn’t take reservations but we didn’t have any problems finding a great site for our 25 foot Class C. So close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Having the free island shuttle was great when the rain prevented us from using our scooters. The bbq and ice cream shops are walking distance away as is a nice mini golf course. Would definitely stay here again.

I love this place! I so appreciate a campground where reservations are not required! It’s first come first served and so many great sites to choose from. Staff is super friendly and helpful, bathrooms are clean and sites are well kept. Dogs are allowed.

Nice campground. Some close spots if you want to be by the water lookout. We had a great site on the corner with a huge lawn. The shuttle runs from this campground for free every half hour and the service on the buses is EXCEPTIONAL! Bar Harbor is a nice town with great shops and restaurants. We enjoyed Acadia and the lobster pounds are everywhere and a really nice one right across the street. Also you can walk to the BBQ restaurant and the amazing ice cream stand right outside the park.

This is hands down the best campground around Acadia! It’s a first come first serve campground and they have TONS of beautiful sites! Awesome views! Awesome pool! Stellar views of Bar Harbor Bay! Show up early and get awesome choices of the perfect site for you!

Regardless of the lack of web detail, this place is amazing! Check it out!!
We have really enjoyed our stay here, the spots are excellent and there are many different locations, amenities, and scenery to suit your preference. The price is to die for, the pool is pristinely clean, the showers are hot and the grounds are well taken care of.

We had a great stay! We worried about not having reservations but when we got there at 11:00am we had sites with hookups to choose from (there were plenty w/out hookups. Everyone was friendly and the location and views were amazing. The wild Maine blueberries are everywhere, a very welcome added bonus! We will definitely stay here again.

I fell in love with camping at Bar Harbor Campground!

Everyone there is friendly and they take pride in caring for the facility. Their prices are EXTREMELY reasonable!

The campground was quiet and safe. All areas are clean as can be and the bathrooms & showers were spotless!

Bar Harbor Campground is close enough to all of the major attractions but not too close where one can't "get away" from the crowds!

BHC has set the standard in quality and price whenever I am comparing other campgrounds.

I can't wait to come back!

Location is great, Campground is great, I wish we had the time to stay longer.
The campground is first come first served which can be nerve wrecking and wi fi is not stable but we liked it so much i still give it 5 stars.

The advertised free WiFi is a little spotty understandably but otherwise it’s a great campground, highly recommend! Very spacious and beautiful campsites (where you’ll need to camp on pavement if tent camping). Was worried about getting a spot (non reservable) but called ahead of time and was told there would be more than enough spots. And there was on a Tuesday in August, but later in the week there weren’t any spots, so if coming from far away it might be advisable to lean towards earlier in the week to ensure a spot. Drinking water is available, as well as pay to use showers (25 cents=5 minutes) and bathrooms located regularly around the grounds. Free shuttles to the Bar Harbor village green is an added bonus with the increase in parking cost there.

We came to the campground because the campground we were so excited o be at was so not accommodating.
So happy we did. It’s first come first serve and cash only.,We got lucky and was able to find a full a full hookup site right away. Was worth waiting a little who for person to check out of site. Clean campground, very nice staff and a great few. Close to town, and reasonably priced. There is a bbq and ice cream place off the path of the campground.

Amazing experience! Would recommend this to anyone! We got there around 1pm on Saturday of Columbus Day Weekend so we were a little worried about availability, but there were plenty of spots to choose from. We chose a spot secluded in the woods.

Every site comes with a picnic table and a fire pit. Drinking stations everywhere and accessible bath houses with sinks & showers.. About a 10 minute drive into downtown and 5 minute drive to Acadia National Park.

Recommend going in the fall - beautiful foliage and plenty warm under blankets! We'll be back for sure. Since down town Bar Harbor is so busy, I'd recommend meal prepping / bringing some food to cook by the fire. So cozy,

This was such a great camping experience. We had really lovely views of the ocean/harbor, the campsite facilities were in excellent condition, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and we were able to have our dog there without any trouble at all. There is enough privacy but if you had kids (we did not) there are lots of kids in the area and they all seemed to have a good time. The best part about the campground was its connection to the Island shuttle services, which was such a great way to ditch the car and get all around Acadia. 10/10 great experience.

We got a full hookup site for under $50 and the views were amazing. Pirates Cove is right across the street. I called ahead and made sure they weren't full and was told that chances were good that I'd get a full hookup, but if not there were plenty of W/E sites available. The full hookup sites are close together, the W/E sites are wooded. The pool is big and clean, as is the play ground. We will certainly be back!
