We enjoyed the size and oceafront view from our room. The heated pool and hot tub was an added bonus after a long day of hiking and biking. Good location near the entrance of Acadia National Park and about a mile from town. Room and grounds were clean.

Great, reasonably priced spot to stay while visiting Bar Harbor. My husband spent 3 nights here while hiking around Acadia and visiting Bar Harbor - it checked all the boxes. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was very helpful, especially while dealing with a hurricane that had swept through and partially knocked out power. The gym was small but well equipped with an elliptical, 2 treadmills, a Peloton, & free weights. Also a play room with ping pong, foosball, & boardgames. Great location too - there's a shuttle that goes from the hotel into downtown Bar Harbor (only about 5 minutes) or you can easily walk into town (about a 35-40 minute easy walk on a sidewalk).

I am at this Holiday Inn right now. And I'm just going to go ahead and say something I hardly ever say... stop researching and just stay here! I will admit... when booking, the back of my mind was saying that Holiday Inn's are not going to be anywhere near as high end as we wanted for this leg of the trip. I mean, they're generally mid-level, budget friendly hotels with less than a luxury feel, right? That isn't their niche, from my experience. And this being our primary stop on an 8-day New England journey, we wanted a bit of luxury.

This Holiday Inn is just about perfect so far. While not right in the heart of Bar Harbor - you can't walk right out the hotel doors and into the city - it's less than a 3-minute drive, and right on the free-bus-system route. Otherwise though, I personally haven't found a flaw.

The property is super clean, and situated right on the waterfront. It's easy to get to and from your car in whatever room you're booked in... to and from the pool... the 2 restaurants onsite... it's just a well-designed hotel. from about every angle. Views from many rooms, and definitely from the pool and hot tub, are spectacular. The property really almost has an "island resort" vibe to it... albeit with cooler weather because you're in Maine.

The staff is BEYOND friendly and helpful... the check in process was amazingly fast and super efficient... complete with text-based checkups before, during and after check in. The rooms are spacious enough for our 2 adults and 2 teen girls... outlets everywhere, at least in our room... and everything that's supposed to function, just does. (We're used to having to make calls about things like air-conditioning not working properly)

Seriously, if you're on the fence or currently scoping out places to stay in or near Bar Harbor... just book this place. It's terrific!

The people and their service at Holiday Inn Resort in Bar Harbor Maine is excellent. The rooms could be renovated but then the cost would be more expensive. The location is perfectly situated near the Acadia National Park and the town. The hotel offers free shuttle service to all tourist places in the area. This is one of the most expensive vacation we have and it is worth it. The staffs at the hotel are very nice and accommodating. I requested ocean view and top floor but wasn’t noted on our first night, then, we were given complimentary breakfast and accommodated on the next day. The hotel provided hot water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate at the front desk. The restaurant bar has a grand piano and the food menu is tasty. There are 2 available restaurants at the hotel. The pool is heated and there is also a jacuzzi which tops the chilly nights in summer!!! We are happy currently staying at this relaxing and beautiful Acadia National Park. The best of it all is allowing pets in this travel even though it is very costly at 75 dollars per night, cost us more than our one to-go Chinese meal for 3 people. Thank you so much for making our vacation memorable and happy.

Everything you need to enjoy Acadia NP. Friendly staff, good restaurant. A restaurant on the premises is definitely a plus, as you have to take a shuttle to go downtown. But even so, the shuttle service is frequent (half-hourly) and reliable.

My parents and I LOVED our stay at the Holiday Inn! None of us have stayed at a Holiday Inn in years, but after a friend recommended it, I booked it.

I was apprehensive when I checked in and learned that our room was in the Eden building as I had read other reviews that said it was best to stay in the main building. But we were so happy with where we stayed! Our room had a view of a stream, and it was so quiet. I would recommend this location!

We enjoyed having a pool and hot tub, and you also cannot beat the views from the outdoor space! Watching the Nova Scotia ferry pulling in was very cool, and we also thought viewing a cruise ship docking was a highlight.

The Island Explorer also stops right in front of the main building, and it’s a fantastic shuttle service. We rode it almost daily into downtown Bar Harbor, which saved us time trying to find parking as well as money (the shuttle is free). Disney World’s transportation can learn a thing or two from the Island Explorer’s service—well done!

Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t give a special shout-out to the overnight manager Miguel. My mom fell ill overnight, and Miguel jumped into thoughtful action. He and his team went so far as to drive to their sister property to pick up and then hand deliver medicine to our room for her. We felt like we had a true kind and thoughtful ally in a very anxious moment for all of us, and we won’t soon forget him.

I booked a standard room w a balcony, and thought it was something it was not. And i have a disability to boot. My wife spoke to front desk who couldn't have been more accommodating, professional. They treated my wife w complete respect. The room they got us on a busy weekend was perfect. Thank you!

My family and I were supposed to stay at nearby Days Inn, for some reason they have a booking error and the Inn owner complemented us to this resort. Room is comfortable, restaurant service is great.

Beautiful location for this resort. Rooms were large, but due for a renovation. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly.

A bit pricey. Only two restaurants on property and only one serve breakfast which was very basic. Nice ocean view if you can get a room facing it. Staff is very accommodating.

Rooms are decent size, if you stay at the main building. There are other buildings that comprise the resort so any building from the main one will require a little walking to breakfast. The pool looked nice and heated, didn't use it. Best thing, lots of parking spaces, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot when you come in late at night. The free shuttle stops at this hotel.

We enjoyed staying here. Reasonably priced for the area. The rooms were nice and the pool and hot tub outside had a nice view of the water. Stayed 2 nights w my wife and 5 kids. Would definitely stay here again. Very friendly staff as well!

The location is perfectly situated near the Acadia National Park and the town. We took the free shuttle on multiple occasions to catch dinner and explore town. For breakfast we always drove into town as parking is more ample in the early am. The staffs at the hotel are very nice and accommodating and the room was comfortbale and clean. We booked an ocean view and recieved one with a great view. We did not eat at the main restuarant by the lobby but did eat at Stewmans. We also got lunch out at the pool one day and both food expericnes were good. The pool was a huge benefit for us as we spent everyday by the heated pool and hot tub even with the foggy weather.

Fate placed me at this establishment. While visiting Bar Harbor over the weekend i neglected to track my battery percentage on my electric scooter and got stranded on the main road into town (rt3). When i arrived at the hotel lobby the staff were super nice and helpful. I asked if i could charge my scooter for a quick 20mins. Not only did they allow me to charge but they also provided me with a phone charger. Thank you soo very much ladies for helping me out on my time of need. When i think of Bar Harbor i will always remember the kind, friendly and helpful folks at the Holiday inn.

Very Nice place to stay if visiting Acadia. Beautiful Property and Pool. Wish they could remove chairs to have better view of ocean from pool but overall excellent views from Resort. Both restaurants and Tiki Bar are good.

End of season stay at this resort. The grounds are well maintained, the staff and housekeeping we came in contact with were helpful and pleasant. Free laundry on-site was helpful for our large family after a few days of hiking and swimming. Heated pool which the kids enjoyed. Rooms dated but water was hot and beds were clean. Enjoyed our stay!

This was a pretty expensive hotel for me, but to me it was worth every penny. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Our hotel windows did not face the bay, but that didn't matter because there are plenty of opportunities to sit around the really spacious grounds and enjoy the view, including the restaurants, pool, and a nice grass walking path and lawn area. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel is within walking distance of downtown (~25 min walk), so we walked. That was a mistake because it was way too hot for that at the time of day we went (noon in July, we should have known better). However, that is no fault to the hotel because they apparently have a bus or shuttle of something on Bar Harbor that takes people downtown, we just must have missed that when the concierge was explaining it to us at check in.

Only possible negative I can think of is that the hotel WiFi network does not have a password, which made me a little uncomfortable connecting my laptop since it is less protected.

Otherwise, this was a great location. The hotel is great for families. The customer service is great. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bar Harbor who is looking for a relaxing place with a great view.

What a relaxing place slightly out of town from Bar Harbor. The view of the bay is beautiful! The kids loved the outdoor heated pool while we enjoyed the view and a cocktail at the tiki bar. This was a bit more than we usually spend but worth it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and they have wonderful amenities. We definitely took advantage of the complementary shuttle to and from town that runs every 15 min and the laundry service. We will definitely stay again.
