Acadia Bike Rentals

Best part of our Acadia trip. Biked over 20 miles of the carriage roads and rented the e-bikes for my wife and I. Would recommend to everyone. The service and bikes are great and it truly is the best way to experience Acadia. Company was very professional and friendly.

Our group bike tour on Fri morning last week was awesome despite the misty and foggy weather! Both Libby from the shop and Katherine, our NP Ranger, used their knowledge and experience to guide our large group of abilities and ages and collaborated efforts and encouragement! I would recommend this tour to other visitors!

We rented two hybrid bikes to explore the carriage roads of Acadia. There's a straightforward 0.7mi ride from the shop to Acadia and then lovely views from there. Staff was very helpful.

Reviewing the Ranger-Led, Carriage Road Bike Tour (not the actual bikes or bike rental experience)...

If you, like us, have never been to Acadia before, this bike tour is AMAZING! We loved our ranger guide, Katherine - she was funny, super smart, really engaging and all-around perfect for the job! She encouraged a lot of interaction, which increased the fun of the tour greatly. The bikes weren't the best, but they were serviceable....and the best thing of all is that after the tour, they let you keep them FREE for the rest of the day! Next time we're in the Northeast, we'll definitely go back...the tour was FANTASTIC! We do bike tours in every city we visit, and this one was definitely in the top 3 we've ever done!

While in Maine, we were looking for something to do and decided on a bike ride. Everyone at Acadia Bike was extremely friendly and helpful, from the booking to the bike pick-up! I will use them again, and 10 out of 10 recommend them!

My family and I were in Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park last week and rented bikes from Acadia Bike several times. Reserving/picking up the bikes was easy and Kyle answered all of our questions about where to go, how to use the bikes, etc. He made great recommendations for exploring the Carriage Trails and the island. It was a magical place to experience on a bike and even though I am not a frequent bicycle rider, I enjoyed the experience completely! Good bikes, good customer service, good adventure in Acadia!

We had a great experience with Acadia Bike rentals. I booked easily online and the bikes were ready upon arrival. Unfortunately the bike rack didn’t work with my car, but they provided helpful instructions to the bike shuttle which was awesome.

Rented last minute e bikes from Acadia Bike Rentals and had a great experience biking over 20 miles of the Carriage roads. The owners were very knowledgeable and friendly!

We had the best time on the Carriage Roads and it was all because of Acadia Bike! Our bike adventure was a rather last minute decision so we actually ended up walking in looking for a same-day rental rather than reserving beforehand. Since it was same-day on a holiday weekend Acadia Bike had bikes available, but didn’t have any bike racks left. Because of this we ended up simply riding the bikes from Acadia Bike to the entrance of the Carriage Roads (it’s a pretty quick ~5 min ride). In hindsight, I’m happy they didn’t have any bike racks left because that made us do the entire 20+ mile loop! Something we wouldn’t have done if we had the car with us. It was incredible and 100% worth it. We had such a wonderful day thanks to Acadia Bike!

Super fun thing to do while in Acadia! You can pick from short 5 mile bike rides to 20+ mile. We did the eagle lake route and it was so much fun. Strenuous at times but worth it. Staff was very helpful with advice and setting us up for success

We are visiting Acadia/Bar Harbor and decided to rent bikes. I had past this storefront while walking Bar Harbor and so I called to reserve. It was a super easy process, the bikes were in good shape, the staff was very helpful. I would definitely rent from them again!

The staff at Acadia Bike is friendly, helpful and the equipment is in great shape! Reserving the bikes was a breeze. We had a pleasant day riding along the carriage roads. We will use this company on future trips to Bar Harbor. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff. Bike rental was pretty straightforward. Had one chain break and they quickly met us on the trail near parking lot to swap out bikes.

Was a good activity if you like cycling.

My wife and I wanted to bike the Carriage Roads surrounding Bar Harbor with our 2 year old (his first experience on a bike). As anyone with a toddler knows, they can be very opinionated. He had never beed on a bike before and I really didn't know how he would react to the seat and to wearing a helmet. The guy who helped us (Kevin) let me take the bike for a couple of loops around the surrounding blocks to see how well our son liked the experience. He cried a little and struggled with the helmet but by the time I got back he was relaxing. We decided to go ahead and give it a try. We rented two bikes and a baby seat for the back of my bike and spent the next 3 hours riding the trails surrounding the area. Our son absolutely loved the experience and it was one of my top 2 or 3 things we did while visiting Bar Harbor. I don't know if we would have tried if we hadn't been able to take him for a test run... the idea of getting into the park and him loosing his mind was a little off-putting but the staff was so helpful and encouraging. As for the ride itself, bikes are a great way to see some areas of the park that we wouldn't have been able to get to on foot or by car. It was beautiful. Just a word of warning... the hill you must climb to get out of town is steep and can be a little demoralizing. But, it's the hardest hill we encountered and riding down it back to town was a great end to the ride!

They were very busy but attentive and got us going quickly. Good quality bikes and friendly service. Their directions and map made it easy to bike into the Acadia carriage trails, only one scary intersection to cross. Add $10-20 for downtown parking, the municipal parking lot is one block away.

We did a ranger guided tour affiliated with this company and it was fantastic. The ranger led us through the Carriage Roads and provided a great deal of information. The guide from Acadia bike that accompanied us (Jordyn) was awesome! I had a couple issues and she was patient and a great person to talk to. This was a highlight of our recent stay and would definitely recommend!

Really enjoyed renting bikes and checking out the carriage roads at Acadia NP. Beautiful way to see the main part of the park and you don't have to look for parking! We were the unlucky recipients of flat tires, but once we got a signal, the shop immediately delivered us a replacement bike within 5-10 min. Made a frustrating experience that much better!

Their service staff literally saved our vacation! We used to rent bikes with them years ago, but this time we brought our own bikes up to ride the Carriage Roads in Acadia. The very morning we planned to ride, one of our bikes had a flat tire. We had no way to easily fix it ourselves on vacation, so we brought the bike in hoping something could be done. The service staff fixed it within minutes and even trued the back wheel because he noticed it was rubbing the brakes. We barely even lost 30 minutes of ride time on an already tight schedule. Thank you!!

The staff here are warm, welcoming and offer great tips for where to bike around Acadia. The bikes are comfortable and reliable. The staff is also really helpful when it comes to recommending and mounting a bike rack for you. I highly recommend renting bikes from them!

The kindest people in a very kind town. They went above and beyond to help us have exactly what we needed. Acadia Bikes is phenomenal!
