Compass Harbor Trailhead

It’s nice. Sometimes you’re running into tourists, but most of the time you won’t. There’s some nice old ruins of a burn down mansion and it’s pretty good swimming.

Beautiful lookout with an easy walk! If you wanted, you could hike/walk this trail in about 30 minutes, but it's pretty scenic.

Wouldn’t even call this a hike because it’s extremely short. However, pops you right out onto the rocks with almost no tourists. Really cool to explore the rocky coast on your own, so close to Bar Harbor.

Was a easy hike. I did not find the old farm but went to the beach. It was really cool during low tide. Some sandy spots and some really big rocks to explore. Just be careful walking on the kelp. You can see people's houses looking through the trees carefully. But it is in a deep forest area.

Lovely winter walk with the baby and dog (on leash). Snow but little ice once on the trail.

Nice walk in the woods leading to great views of the ocean and Porcupine Islands

Easy tranquil hike with access to a rocky beach at low tide.

Easy walking. Must have been a beautiful homestead in it's day. Would be nice if there were postings as to what types of trees are on the property , many of them are very large.

This is an easy walk close to Bar Harbor, the walk features Dorr point, beautiful views of Maine's Rocky coast line. This land was the personal location of George Dorr who played a massive role in the creation of Acadia national park. The foundation of his 30 room "summer" home can be seen here amongst a myriad of old stone steps leading down to the shore line. I enjoyed finding the old location of this home and imagined what it would been like to have lived there during the late 1880's

Beautiful place to see a lighthouse up close. It is a personal residence so you don't get to go in. You can read about the history and walk down to a small walkway and see the lighthouse and the ocean.

Great for families, and young toddlers. Easy and beautiful!

Easy access via parking lot trailhead. Beautiful and secluded, great place to collect colorful stones or climb rocks and sit for awhile.
