The purchase of my new Subaru was very stress free and hassle free. I met Ken T, explained what I was looking for, he presented a great car at a great price. As someone who has had experience, in the past, with salesmen trying to sell me what I didn't want or need, this was nice. I would recommend Subarus to anyone, but would highly recommend Miller Hill Subaru. If you're looking for a salesmen who will listen, Ken T is your person.
The sales team is great.
If you need to use the service area, there's none better than Shane. Knowledgeable, super polite, he can put a smile on your face even if he has to give you bad news about your car. It's a great place.

Miller Hill Subaru is now our "go-to" for Subaru maintenance check-ups, brakes, oil changes. The staff there are very friendly and communicative. They share a text number for you to ask questions while you wait in their waiting room, which provides free popcorn, water, and coffee. Every time that I have been there has been positive. My recent brake repair there was wonderful. Truly recommend this dealer for Subaru repairs. Since we moved to Grand Marais, we have not yet needed a new car, but when we do, we will definitely be seeking out this dealer.

Arrived in the morning for an oil change and tire rotation. It was completed quickly and exactly as I wanted. I’ll be back for all my service when it’s needed. So far 150,000 miles and just oil changes. Car looks like new yet.

Miller Hill Subaru has provided excellent service to our Forester. My experience has been great. If I were to voice one complaint it is that virtually every service provider of any kind wants their customers to fill out a survey after each interaction. I am at my limit.

First time buyer of a suburu. Oddly enough, I didn’t hate it! My previous car buying experiences have been such dreaded experiences that I wasn’t looking forward to replacing my 21 year old ford escape. I walked into the suburu dealership and it was what it was, no hard sell, no up grades, no add ons, it was fantastic! I knew what I wanted and what the cost was and they didn’t have the exact match but managed to find one quickly and the pricing was right on, no haggling, it was perfect. In addition, being that this car was 20 years newer than what I was used to, there were many bells and whistles I was not familiar with and although they covered it fully with me when I picked it up, weeks later they checked with me to make sure I was doing well and offered to give me a refresher which I certainly needed! It was fantastic! Very friendly, helpful without pressure. Definitely would recommend to anyone considering shopping for a car!

I recently purchased my first Subaru, a dream come true, and Andy was just wonderful to work with. Super knowledgeable, very thorough. Naomi brought it all together seamlessly. Honestly, the best car buying experience I have ever had.

We went in to get a duplicate key quote and were swept away by the quick and kind service from all the people we interacted with but especially Rob in the service department! He was very personable and made our day so much easier. Thank you!!

Second edit. They exceeded my expectations, did a very solid compensation job, pointed out some things I should keep an eye on, and left me in better shape than I could have hoped for. Did they mess up? Definitely. They also owned their mistake and made it right. This was much more than I expected after my first round. Thanks, Miller Hill Subaru, for not leaving me high and dry!

Happily, this ended fairly well, and John in the service department made things right. I would like to have never had to fork out this kind of money on my old car, but the deed is done. I will be receiving a credit that I can put toward the other repairs I need, and will get the VIP treatment while my car is in the shop next week.

Consider the review changed, and this customer, if not satisfied, no longer salty!

I am hoping I can change this review for the better eventually because I don't think there was any malice involved. I have put writing this off until I was less salty about it, and could put things in perspective.

I just moved to Duluth from New Jersey after 28 years away. Right before my move, which involved driving my well cared for 06 tribeca the 21 hours to get here, my check engine came on. The car is fairly low miles and properly maintained, it needed some suspension work but nothing dire.

My mechanic in Jersey found, and repaired, a crack in the air intake, and everything seemed fine until 100 miles into my trip, when the light came back on. I had to drive and pray, and I couldn't use cruise control. Boooo!

I made it here, started my new job, and finally had time to have the car looked at. I called around, but the car is sort of a pain to find parts for, so I decided to pay the premium to take it to a dealer because I didn't want to waste time trying to find a mechanic able to fix it quickly. I mentioned the cracked air intake, and how it should be replaced, and the car maybe checked for other vacuum leaks.

Well, they sure found a lot wrong with the car. An estimated $2100 worth of things wrong. I bit the bullet, I can't buy another decent car for that little, and it is otherwise in good shape.

Halfway through the job I got a call, one of the sensors in the catalytic converter stripped out. They managed to salvage it, but there were 3 more to replace. If any of them was worse than this, it would need a catalytic as well. Good lord, that just potentially doubled the cost of the repairs. On a 2006 Tribeca. It wasn't worth $4200.

They said they would do their best, and I didn't end up needing the catalytic. I went and picked it up.

It cost $2300+ The additional 200 must have been for the extra time being careful with my new sensors.

I drove 26 miles before the check engine came on again.

I felt like throwing up.

How?

I took it back, and after doing whatever it is they do, determined that it was a dirty mass air flow sensor.

They cleaned it. They test drove it. I picked it up and put over 100 miles on it the next day. No check engine.

I wasted 2300 bucks I could have put towards repairs it actually needed. The wiper blade that keeps coming loose or the clunking sound in the front end.

I got a big old pile of sensors and gaskets when it needed a Q tip.

It really sucks.

I would have happily paid the several hundred they probably would have charged to diagnose and clean a dirty sensor if they had found that first. I know that tracking down the problem in older cars can be tricky. They had the grace to not charge me for that additional time.

Now I will have to put the other repairs off for longer than I hoped.

Lesson learned I guess.

Ugh.

Just had a wonderful experience buying a car at Subaru with Derek! I would recommend working with him to anyone I know. He was super helpful, kind, and on top of everything! I bought the car about a week ago and he messaged to check in and see how the car is doing today. Beyond amazing service from Derek! Highly highly recommend Derek from Subaru if you’re looking for a new ride!!

Great customer service Carmen was able to get me right in and they even took care of an issue caused by another company installing new tires.

Wonderful place to purchase a vehicle. I worked with Jake during a stressful time of my life, and left with a reliable car the same day. He was completely understanding and willing to help any way he could. I didn’t feel I was getting scammed at all- I have little knowledge of cars and the buying process but needed a car as my old vehicle broke down in the midst of student teaching.
First oil change and inspection is free, which rocks! Clean and put together waiting room with snacks and refreshments for patrons. Highly recommend for a low pressure dealership.

Bought 4 tires. Shane was at the desk and he was very helpful. The tires + mounting + alignment came in at less than the original estimate. And John gave me a lift to my home and later picked me up—we had a nice conversation each way.

Devan and the mechanic who we who worked on the car are amazing. My daughter had to get a new engine in her forester. They kept in constant contact weather by phone or email. They sent us photos of the work through the whole build. I can’t thank them enough or tell them how much I appreciated their kindness and support. This was already a stressful situation to be in but the took so much of that stress off us. You have a forever customer with me. My 2nd Subaru will be bought here.

I recently purchased a vehicle from here and I’m very happy with it! I was hesitant at first to shop here because I had a bad experience a few years ago with a sales person. I was in a bad accident recently and needed a new car. I had been to a couple other dealerships in town and they did not listen to me or give me good service. But this time around I gave it another shot. I worked with John Forcier and he was wonderful to work with. I told him about my previous experience and I was very direct with him about what I was looking for and what I was working with financially. And that I too worked in sales so I understood the business. He was extremely patient and professional with me and actually listened to me and what I was looking for. I also worked with Josh in management I apologize I don’t remember his last name but he did the paperwork with me and he was also very patient and kind and talked me through everything. I love my new forester sport!! Thank you both for your excellent customer service!!

Kate and everyone else at the Miller Hill Subaru are wonderful! Right from the start the experience was welcoming and non-judgmental. I was really nervous about being scammed or taken advantage of. Instead the team worked with me to find the right car, at the right price. And we did! Kate and her team were very patient in answering all of my questions and laying everything out on the table. I would highly recommend checking out Miller Hill Subaru for a "one on one" car buying experience. They were very accommodating about my car situation and with out them I would probably still have that junker car in front of my house!
