He really sought to hear and understand me and what was important to me as I went through a very challenging divorce and custody process and he always helped me to keep my humanity and be my best self. John helped ensure that I kept my integrity and did what was best for me and my kids. He always had the long vision in mind and helped me keep it too. I always felt like he acted with mine and my kid's best interest at heart. John is the best of the best at what he does and is a genuinely good human being too. I don’t normally give reviews, however, I was just very impressed with the entire process that John and his team provided for me.

For context's purpose, my divorce was extremely contentious; distribution of assets and custody were the primary issues and I had no experience with the legal process prior to meeting John. The Hoffman Law Group helped me through one of (if not the) most difficult times in my life. I knew John was the attorney for me, when at first he didn’t even want to accept my case because he thought I was in good hands, and didn’t want me to spend more money than I had to. I'm embarrassed at how long it has taken me to write a review for John Hoffman and his firm. I mean the guy helped me through a tough period of my life, and is still a go-to for me four years later because let's face it, divorce is not a quick fix especially when you have children or there is a pension/QDRO involved. But, in some ways it's better that I provide some perspective a few years after the divorce was final - because I can see more clearly how lucky I was to have John on my side. He and his staff were warm, responsive, honest, and above all - professional. John won't tell you what you want to hear or drag things out. He will advise you, listen to you, and explain things as many times as you need it while being mindful of the cost to you. He will pivot when it makes sense and tell you when you might be being a tad unreasonable. I always felt that he had my best interest at heart - and that is what you need most during divorce (along with intelligence, experience, and an understanding of the system). Going through a custody battle is the hardest experience one could possibly imagine. I was dealing with a situation where my ex got upset at my decision to end the relationship and therefore tried to remove with our son to Ohio. My son was about 6 months old when this all started. He is now 1 year and 6 months old. After a year of ups and downs, I now have joint 50/50 custody of my son. None of this could have been possible without the help of John Hoffman. From his prompt responsiveness, even when he is not in the office and even when on vacation, to his genuine interest in wanting to help my son and I, he is the best I have ever seen. He is always well composed and seeking the best interest of all parties, mainly the child/children involved. He does not rely on sly tactics nor demeaning antics toward other council or opposing parties. He remains composed and respectful. He intellectually and strategically gathers his thoughts and knows exactly when to be aggressive and when to take a step back and reassess a situation. I have nothing bad to say about this man. In fact, I am forever indebted to him and his team. For a moment, I thought I was going to lose my heart, (my son), but John stepped in and reassured me that he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that would never happen. I also want to say that his wife, Maryanne Hoffman, was instrumental in helping me deal with issues arising on a weekly basis. She has an immense amount of knowledge on children, custody cases, and how children can be affected. She helped me plan for attitude changes, sleep behavioral changes, and adjustments that were to come. Jonathan Diggins, another attorney in John Hoffmans' office, was also extremely helpful. He has a wealth of knowledge and never minded picking up the phone in Johns' absence to help me overcome hurdles and/or just to calm me down from being in panic. Mary Hartley, a paralegal in John's office, was always very helpful and extremely supportive. This is the dream team. I was always spoken to with respect. I always had someone to speak to no matter what time of day, nor which day of the week. For that and everything, I am very thankful. John Hoffman is worth more than his ask. He genuinely cares about his clients. I remember getting a phone call from him telling me I had overpaid one month. Due to the craziness of what was going on, I did not catch the overpayment. He is a man of integrity and class. Although my case ended on January 6th of 2021, he still calls me checking on my son and I. This is a man you want to work with. I will undoubtedly vouch for John Hoffman and his entire team. This is the dream team and they are #1 in my book.
