Visiting from the prairieland where we've been in a drought for several years, the natural beauty here was a sight to behold. An absolute highlight in the area. We also saw a couple tortoises which was fun.

I was not expecting how pretty this park is! I enjoy finding off the beaten path little nature preserves, and this place hit the spot with a short morning stroll around the boardwalk loop, taking in the plant life and enjoying the sunlight filtering through the dense canopy.

There's a butterfly garden path. However, it was a bit too beezy today for the butterflies to be out. I'll definitely be making a trip back here next time I find myself down this way.

This is a beautiful and well-maintained Park to take a leisurely stroll through. Lots of Marie trees, offering plenty of shade.

Today's visit was spectacular. We've gotten some rain and saw lots of standing water which made for some pretty reflection photos!

Most of the nature trail is boardwalk. No dogs, no bikes and no jogging allowed. The path is only .6 miles and at 8:30 am it was shady in most sections of the trail. Well maintained and a nice place for people of all ages to walk.

Lovely small park - quiet and well maintained. A circular path of .8 miles and lovely landscape.

Beautiful and (free) park! It isn’t very large. It took my husband and I about 15-20 minutes to walk the boardwalk and back to the parking lot. Got to see some woodpeckers and some other beautiful birds. So many people were out walking that morning, and everyone was so friendly!

It’s a great place to stop by to get a nice change of scenery and get a quick walk in. I do wish there were some longer trails, but you could walk the boardwalk a few times and get a great walk in!

There were restrooms available and a decent picnic area.

You can tell they take great care of the grounds and landscaping here. Absolutely beautiful. Would come back again!

This was some of the most stunning nature I’ve seen. So many little details- Although the boardwalk is less than one kilometer, we spent over two hours there because of how much there was to see. A perfect spot for a picnic lunch as well, with lots of covered picnic tables. There is a beautiful butterfly garden with native pollinator plants and informational signage. Would absolutely come back. Such a peaceful, well-maintained place for experiencing the natural world.

Wonderful county nature park. A small room on the building houses a few turtles, fish and snakes for viewing. The boardwalk is a nice walk through what this area in Florida use to look like with some 100+ year old giant oaks, marshland and cypress swamp. A covered pavilion with picnic tables make this a great spot to have a picnic.

This is a beautiful park and boardwalk. They have a very cute room with stuffed and live animals for viewing. We saw a large tortoise within seconds of arriving.

Beautiful park to walk through and enjoy nature. We had time to kill before our fight as it's near the airport, which you would never expect this Beautiful nature park to be in the area.

Love this park! It’s a large boardwalk loop with lots of beautiful scenery. I saw a hummingbird and gopher tortoises on my walk. Cool nature exhibit center with tons and tons of educational information. There are restrooms at the entrance.

This park is quite close to the city, but it feels like you are in the middle of the Great Outdoors. Nixon Park is the perfect place for beginning nature lovers to see a variety of birds, trees and ground cover. Exploring is easy, thanks to the well-kept boardwalk. Twice a year there are moonlight walks with a variety of bands strategically placed along the boardwalk.

What a hidden gem in Melbourne. It features a 3/4 mile elevated boardwalk thru shaded woodland with giant oaks, ferns, and various places to sit under the shade and contemplate nature. There is a huge covered pavilion at the entrance with a small reptile exhibit and public restrooms. I grew up in Melbourne in the 60s and 70s and returned to retire in 2019, and this is my first visit. I highly recommend carving out at least one hour of your time to visit this refuge that could've been bulldozed for warehouses if not for Ms. Nixon.

This place was great. It is tucked away by the mall, so be alert as to not miss the entrance. This park is walking only. No vehicles or bicycles, which keeps the erosion down. The trail is mostly a boardwalk and that makes the trek much easier. Alternating patches of sunlight and shade paint the trail. It is very calming and relaxing. Present are a few "Vista" points and information placards. A very nice place, we'll have to return to see what else is in store for us there
