Friendship Health & Rehab Center South

My wife used Friendship South after a fall in our house due to her Alzheimer's disease. We were there for almost 6 weeks and they took wonderful care of her as well as keeping me posted as to what they were doing for her and why they were doing it. The administration staff was always ready to talk about anything that I wanted to ask them. The nursing staff took very good care of her the whole time she was in Friendship South until she passed away there. They were very comforting and attentive to my wife's every need as well as my requests.

Our family has entrusted Friendship South with numerous family members’ long term care and short term rehab needs throughout the last several years. Each time we have been pleased with the beautiful facilities, talented staff, and top notch care. Keep up the great work, Friendship ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This Facility provides exceptional nursing care, with excellent leadership from the Director of Nursing. The focus on care is hard to find in most venues nowadays. Friendship exceeded those expectations. She also provided her personal cell phone number to make sure she could answer any of my questions if they were to arise. This type of attention to compassion and detail for my loved ones gives me a peace of mind thats priceless. Phenomenal job!

So far things are going very well with my loved one. Everyone is courteous. I called to check and Wendy was reassuring and helpful about the therapies that would be given. No complaints from my loved one as well. This is week 2. Visits are Tues/Thurs in the courtyard and you can go to the window and talk on the phone with your loved one. We did it and no problems. They are very very proactive regarding the Covid-19 virus. Patients get tested before admission and then 4 days after. Drop offs are scheduled and anything given has to be wiped off by team members and held in waiting area as well. This is a huge relief. My only recommendation would be two greeters at the area where I had to bring my loved one. A new CNA greeted us and was fantastic! However with mobility and weakness issues, this can be addressed for better patient services. Thank you!

Our family recently experienced significant life-changes with our parents. In the process of moving them into an assisted living facility in Roanoke, my mother suffered a significant stroke. We knew a skilled nursing facility would be necessary upon her discharge from the hospital. I asked the director at the assisting living facility, and Friendship South was highly recommended.

Friendship South is no different than every other medical facility in our country right now in that they are facing critical nursing and staff shortages in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even with these challenges, I have found each nurse, therapist, CNA, food service member, and even the janitor to be exemplary! We established with whom we should communicate our cares, concerns, and questions, and have done so on an almost daily basis. At no time has anyone been unprofessional. Rather, we have found a "family" of professionals at Friendship South who are clearly called to help individuals and their families during a difficult time. We simply could not have asked for a better facility to help our mother.

We are grateful for the skill and care Mom received. And while we never hope to need their services again, you can bet we will always highly recommend them.

I have been reluctant to place a parent into a rehab facility due to many of the things I have seen or heard over the years. I have to say, with Friendship Health South, it was a good experience. My father had to be placed in Rehab because of significant health issues, and have found the team to give exceptional treatment. The administrative, nursing, PT, OT, and Speech therapy kept the family informed, my father did well and did not complain at all. He was well taken care of and if I had to do it again, I will definitely make this my first choice.

To add to this, I had to also place my mother in rehab for a few weeks and chose Frendship Health and Rehab South. She had a good experience, the team kept me updated, I had the privilege to meet her rehab staff and they broke everything down for me. My mother commented on how well she was doing and the staff were very helpful and attentive. She went in barely able to walk even with help and upon leaving was much stronger and adept to what her strengths and weaknesses are. Thanks to the team at FHRS for their dilligence and help.

I was very reluctant to go into a re-hab facility. I was welcomed with open arms and care. I couldn't have asked for better care from the staff. Wonderful people. The PT department was top notch with some awesome therapist. The food was pretty good too.

My stay at the Friendship South rehab was excellent. Staff went above and beyond my expectations in my care. I would recommend this facility to anyone need the services they offer.
