My family recently spent one night at this super cute, quaint hotel prior to leaving for a cruise. I loved everything about it. The rooms are so much more fun than a big chain hotel. My girls stayed in the upper loft and my husband and I slept comfortably in the lower area. On the morning of our cruise, we enjoyed the outside breakfast buffet. I do think they could benefit by installing some outside ceiling fans to circulate more air. The staff was amazing. We were gone from the hotel about 20 minutes or so when I received a call saying my daughter had left her wallet in the upstairs loft. Her wallet contained her ID (which we HAD to have to get on the ship) and $300.00. When we returned to pick it up after much panic it was all there! Very honest and admirable people!

We booked this room sight unseen and no research. The price is what attracted us. What a pleasant surprise. Logistically it is placed well. $7 to $8 Uber dollars from the French Quarters. Two more financial perks are free parking and a continental breakfast which equates to about $65 daily. Now that said, this little hotel has a neat character all its own. It is kind of like staying at your grandmother's. If you plan to spend the day in the room this might not be the place for you. If you are sightseeing and want a place that has comfortable rooms, hospitable staff and guest that affords a great night of sleep, this is worth the visit. We plan to make this a place to return. Best roll of the dice we have made in a while.

We just love our room and location. Nothing but the friendliest staff at this historic site. Room is very clean and well furnished. Memory foam bed is like sleeping atop of a huge marshmallow. Nice after a hard day of walking in the heat of summer. I know where we will stay from now on!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Prytania Park, although the installations are old they were in pristine condition. Service was great from reception to housekeeping, to extra amenities for printing our boarding passes. Location is more than convenient to the convention center area and downtown, would be back for future New Orleans visits.

Clean rooms and unique style of courtyard with tall doors and windows eluding a 1920's feel. We stayed 1 night and cancelled our other downtown accommodations to return here for our stay in New Orleans. We will definitely be back and again will ask for our special little amazing and romantic room 122. Thanks for making us feel right at home! Oh and we have traveled the world and stayed in 5 star accommodations...using the lack of experience would be a excuse for someone who most likely doesn't enjoy the real qualities of life.
Cheers.

When we went to New Orleans we was not sure where to stay. By luck we came across this place. WOW we just loved it, booked for 1 night, went back and booked for 2 more nights, then went back and booked 3 more nights. We never had to drive for the 6 nights we was there. It is with in walking distance to the trolley, and hop on hop off bus. Loved the way the motel is decorated, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again and would suggest this is a great place to anyone going to visit New Orleans.

I found this hotel by accident on Google and booked it, The garden district is beautiful and it's only about a 30 min walk to the French Quarter. The hotel gives of an old school, quaint vibe and the room, although a bit musty, was cute. I love the loft, I slept like a baby up there. Got up in the morning and a nice breakfast spread was waiting in the courtyard... I will be staying here again!

Great location in the Garden Diatrict, not far from much in NOLA. We've stayed in both the Modern and Historic Old World rooms and both are excellent. The shower in our Old World Historic room could have been a little bigger, but it's not a big deal. Quiet, comfortable, and decently priced. We have enjoyed staying here for NOLA trips and will likely come back for future NOLA trips.

My husband and I loved it! We eloped to New Orleans and the staff was very accomidating with our need foor an early check in to get freshened up before the ceromony. The staff was very welcoming, the rooms were very clean. No complaints from us.

If you are thinking of a stay in NOLA, but do not want the touristy area I recommend you give them a try. It is in a great location for getting around without having to drive. Just hop on the bus or streetcar and you can get basically anywhere.

We will definitely be back!

Great hotel, old with lots of charm and character. Don't understand the bad reviews, can't please some people I guess. Nice people at the service desk, clean rooms, old looking on the outside. Tricky finding the front of the hotel but you enter through the parking lot. Several restaurants within walking distance and the trolley stop within a blocks walk.

Once again Prytania Park made for a wonderful stay in New Orleans. Such a quaint small hotel that really has the feel of New Orleans. It is a hotel with a "bed and breakfast" feel. Clean, neat, unique rooms that are not the "cookie cutter" rooms of the chain hotels. This is our 7th or 8th stay at the Prytania Park and have had a wonderful experience every time. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning staff, have always been so helpful with any request we have made. The hotel is 1 block from the St. Charles Street streetcar line. During our 3 day stay, we never had to use our car once to get to all the sights we wanted to see. That is another major plus about this hotel - free parking! That is rare in New Orleans near downtown and can save you $25 to $35 per nights stay. Located on the edge of the Garden District, you get the best of both worlds: you are a 5 to 10 minute street car ride from the French Quarter, yet in the beauty and quiet of the Garden District with all of its stately homes, restaurants and shopping. Enjoy!

The room, the service, the atmosphere and the location is exceptional. Free parking, close to the French Quarters and the trolley is right across the street. I'm so happy I found this hotel, I'll definitely stay again when I'm back in town.

Absolutely a must. Friendly staff, great rooms, close to the port if you're going to cruise. They have a park and stay package. Also close to the trolley stop so if you want to go to Bourbon Street or visit elsewhere you don't have far to go.

A very well situated hotel that won't break the bank. The hotel is good and proper with a delightful inner garden as well as a breakfast served in the garden every morning. All necessary establishments are near by and we preferred the restaurants, cafes, and bars of the Garden District over the ones in French Quarter. Well worth the price!

My best friend, and I (and each of our oldest daughters) could not be happier after our stay with Prytania Park Hotel.

I'll admit, I was a bit nervous after seeing some of the mixed reviews. We were quickly put at ease prior to our stay, thanks largely to a quick email correspondence with the general manager, Dori Schulman. We had a few specific questions, all of which were answered in detail.

Finding the hotel (even for two people who get nervous when traveling in unfamiliar areas) was easy. Free parking - HUGE bonus in this area, by the way - was in the lot in 'front' of the hotel. Easily manageable, easy access. Excellent.

Front desk staff (WHY can't I remember her name? I hope someone will comment and remind me - our stay was on 5 October, and we checked in approximately 4:30pm) was EXCELLENT. Friendly, knowledgeable, patient. She was ready to answer any and all questions, had plenty of information to give us, and was extremely patient with our excited chatter.

The hotel itself was charmingly beautiful. After chatting with the staff member at the front desk, we made our way to our carefully-chosen room. Our particular room was chosen for the "loft" area, which held the second queen bed ... and was accessed by a quaint spiral staircase. Our daughters squealed with delight and immediately climbed the stairs to their portion of the room.

I'd read that the bathrooms were small, so I was a bit nervous, seeing as we had four females getting ready to go to a concert. My nervousness was unfounded, though. Although the shower/toilet room is JUST large enough for the shower and toilet, there was PLENTY of counter space in the vanity area! This is important, because you know us girls like to spread our hair/makeup products all over the place while we decide what to do!

By the way: there was also a mini fridge and decent-size microwave (not the kind that just pops a bag of popcorn - this one would equate to the counter-size m/w I use at home!). Also important!

Oh and the WiFi? Free, and easily accessible. Thank you!

We had requested a cab be called for us at a particular time, and it was. We'd requested waters and snacks be placed on our hotel bill (it was), and the clerk was again friendly and helpful.

Side note: hotel staff should not assume that out-of-towners know how public transport works. We assumed the trolley near the hotel would go directly to the French Quarter, where we'd be going later that night ... we did NOT realize we'd have to take THREE trolleys to get where we wanted to go! While she was sweet about telling us how inexpensive the rides were, and how the money machine works (doesn't give change), and how they become less frequent as the night gets late ... she didn't mention we'd need to switch trolleys ... or that we'd have to know whether to take the red or green line at each interval.

We returned to our room a little after 1 a.m., exhausted but happy, and were greeted by a cool room, comfortably sigh-worthy beds, and soft lighting (we'd left a lamp on, and it had a low-light setting).

Let me say, the beds were TRULY dreamable. Firm, but with a pillow-top layer. So, soft to the touch, but great for my aching back (4 hours of driving, 4 of concert, 2 of taxis and walking).

Water pressure was fine for us. Again, the vanity space was wonderful as we all crowded around to brush our teeth and hair, apply a little makeup, and tame our hair.

Breakfast consisted of coffee, juice, milk, cereal, cheese/fruit danish, and croissants (with various butters and jelly packets). Simple, which was exactly what we needed before we headed out to walk around the French Quarter for a while (again, not understanding the trolley system, since we'd taken a cab the night before).

I cannot think of a single thing I would change about the Prytania Park Hotel. We plan to eventually get back to NOLA for some more sightseeing, and will DEFINITELY stay here again!

Thank you, Prytania Park Hotel - we're definitely FANS!!

We stayed here about two weeks for our honeymoon, and it was lovely. Free champagne awaited us when we checked in, comfortable historical-esque furnishings, lovely courtyard, good wireless internet... what more could you ask for? The garden district itself is elegant, beautiful to walk through, and full of shops and restaurants that aren't just for tourists.

Love it! It's a funky old place, nothing fancy, with a cool layout, friendly front desk staff and mellow vibe. It's a block from the St. Charles streetcar line and is convenient to everything. We'll definitely be back.

The Prytania was very charming, clean, comfortable, authentic, and staff was kind and accommodating. This place has some age on it no doubt, don't mistake the wear for dust or uncleanliness, it just has character!

This hotel was a hidden gem! The ambience was quaint with bamboo all over. Great little breakfast in the morning. The room was a bit musty when we first came in but cleared out by the time we came back.
