I’ve tried to stick with WLL for years now but I’m officially over it. This most recent season.. the price was the same for my daughter to play softball as every other year and we were ONLY supplied with a jersey ($110) and told after getting our uniforms extremely late that we had to go out and buy our girls a belt and socks to go with the uniform. Other years this has been provided. Why did we pay the same amount and have to go out and pay more money?
On top of that, we are the only league that gets our uniforms after the season starts. We are playing other leagues, traveling to see other teams and we look sloppy and unorganized (which about sums up this league at this point) while they look uniformed and put together.. we’re still waiting after 3 games for our jersey. It’s ridiculous and has been happening every single year I’ve been apart of this. When will Edwin and the crew get it together?
I tried to help out here and there with my daughters softball .. I work pretty often and I wasn’t sure how many games I could make, so I originally didn’t sign up to coach. After helping at a practice or 2, my daughters coaches approached me and said I couldn’t step foot on the field (per Edwin) bc of liability reasons. I understood and backed off.
Fast forward to going to a few tball games, I realized half the parents were on the field.. I asked a few if they signed up to volunteer and had the background check.. almost all of them said no. 🙄this may be minute, but it was infuriating to deal with. When I signed up to volunteer to be able to help my daughter, I never heard anything.

The final straw is, I have my 2 youngest children in the same age group playing tball.. lo and behold, they place them on 2 different teams! So on days when I have my daughter playing softball (usually traveling to Leland or cape fear optimist) my 2 little ones will be playing across town at veterans park. Which would be fine if they were on the same team.. they have 2 parents, however now one parent has to run back and forth and hope to be able to help just a little with the teams simultaneously. I’m pretty furious about this. Why would they not have been placed on the same team?!

I’m over it. This is my last year with WLL after being dedicated to this league for years now and telling all my friends that have left to try to stick with it, that it will get better. No, it’s only getting worse. Steer clear.
