I’m super impressed! My colleagues and I are visiting the area on business and this spot was a recommendation from a local resident. The weather is awful, but they were open and welcomed us in.
The staff was very friendly and took good care of our table even as it became more crowded.
Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.
We started with some fried cheese curds! …Airy and cheesy and so tasty. The entire table was raving about the food.
I also had the salmon that was cooked perfectly and the bed of rice/veggie mix was so flavorful

Highly recommend this place - beer and food were great. Ambiance is nice; server staff excellent. Brewery was next to our marriott hotel and it was a very pleasant evening; we left with an extra 4 Germans beer from the brewery to bring home to Texas. A must to go if in town.

Always wanted to visit here but it never worked out till tonight and I wasn't disappointed. The beer as a whole was good as we shared 2 flights. Took home the Fox Moon Stout which could rival any brewery stout. Also shared the meatloaf which was also very good. All in all, a great visit and hope I can come back someday

Welcome surprise along our holiday journey. The BIPA and Engrained Shoe with Angus was the best. Will definitely stop again on our way through. Thanks and HNY!

Everything was perfect! The food was fantastic, fresh, just the right temperature and texture. The drink was amazing as always! The restaurant was cheerful, clean and busy. Our server, Skyler, was attentive, cheerful and friendly. She made the dining experience even better. We are looking forward to the next visit. Don’t forget to try Engrained’s signature chocolate stout cake. . . Decadent!

We had a wonderful dinner and drinks. Food tasted excellent but the serving was so large for us! Many great beers, bourbons, whiskeys and more. This place is not just a brewery! I can't wait till our next visit, this was so much fun. Also, a Marriott Springhill hotel is just next door!!

This was my first time visiting this place. It was recommended by Jaidyn. I absolutely loved the experience. I was able to try the different brews & the food was great.

Wonderful, low-key, local brewery with an amazingly warm staff! The food is great, and the beer flights are fun.

The portion sizes at Engrained are no joke - they are massive! My husband and I shared a beer flight, the buffalo wings (crisped to perfection!) appetizer, and a horseshoe sandwich. We left stuffed and still had more than half a horseshoe sandwich to take home!

But the best part was the staff! Our waitress was super funny and warm. We loved her! Then, on our way out, a severe rainstorm had started, and the host at the desk went out of his way to step out under the front awning with us and invite us back in to wait out the rain on a bench inside. You'll have a memorable time here!

I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. Food, servers and vibe are always great. Will keep coming here as long as I can.

We went as a family for lunch and it was a great place for kids. I’ve never been to Springfield so I didn’t know what a horseshoe was so had to try that and I did it with the buffalo breaded chicken with the smaller size version and it was great! The other things we loved was the cheese curds, kids Mac and cheese (huge portion), and the seltzers! We’d certainly come back. Great food and service :)

Our group hasn't been back to Engrained in sometime. So when getting in to wait 30-35 min we saw Mercedes and had a great visit and her remembering our beverage preferences warmed our hearts and made the wait very enjoyable. Then to have Cyler acknowledge us and wondering where we had been again added to our enjoyable dinning experience. Felt very special but not awkward, can't wait to dine in again soon.

We made last minute dinner reservations for a large group for my bday. Engrained staff made it happen! They even set us up in their back room, so we could shut the doors and let the kids play. The food was delicious (as always), beers were tasty, and our waiter Zac was incredible!

Had been here several times before but never ordered either off the menu.

Kayla our server was terrific. We each ordered a paddle of beers. She was very knowledgeable. Started with cheese curds that were pillow soft and so flavorful. The spicy dipping sauce worked with the cheese beautifully. We shared a harvest salad. It was delicious. Pecans, blue cheese crumbles, fresh greens a maple vinaigrette that I wasn't sure about but it was really good. Hubby had the fish and chips I had the ruben, both with these great natural French fries. Fish was perfect sandwich was awesome. Next time we're in Springfield we'll definitely go back.

Tasty bar food, with some well labeled vegan options! (Stir fry and fried pickles). I had the house IPA which was pretty good, maybe not to the level of great. I dont remember the name of our server but she was really nice and friendly, which elevated the experience to a 5/5.

Industrial chic surrounds, festooned with pressed wheat under glass. Very sharp. Fine selection of beer styles—particularly fond of the oatmeal stout (strong coffee/chocolate notes) and the IPA (citrus—like fresh squeezed grapefruit). Menu is surprising—having lived in Illinois for 18 years and maintained connections to the state for near 40, I had never heard of a “horseshoe.” It is excessive, but worth a shot. The locally sourced produce makes the meal—very solid, seasonal menu. Very much worth your time and treasure.

Had a great celebration in the private event space at Engrained.. Service was first rate!

Came with a bigger group on Black Friday. Place was busy, but that didn't stop our server Cuyler from getting everything we needed quickly. The bartender Mercedes was also a great help with recommendations for their in-house brews!

Wow was this a good tenderloin, not pounded super thin, a buttermilk style batter dredged in Panko crumbs. Served with fair style fresh cut fries. Flipping delicious! Craft beer samples. Nice place to enjoy a meal.

Best burger I have possibly ever had. Best fries. Ketchup did not do justice to them so dipped them in their BBQ sauce. Large portions of food split between 2 people. Excellent. Tried 2 paddles of beer sampler. Fantastic. Professional and attentive waitstaff. Will come back for more!
