Sophia Thorsen Pilates

Sophia is so knowledgeable, present, kind, and passionate about her work. My husband and I have both worked with her individually and taken her excellent classes as well. She also does very effective bodywork. We are both feeling stronger and walking taller since we started working with Sophia. So glad a friend sent us her way.

First of all, WOW. I am seriously in awe and so grateful for the lymphatic drainage / massage sessions I've had with Sophia. I was dealing with lingering post COVID symptoms (low energy levels, mental slowness, weird neurological sensations...) and was seriously at a loss about what to do. My first session with Sophia made a WORLD of difference. Miraculously, I felt about 80% better. It was like there had been stale, stagnant energy that was preventing my body from harmonizing itself and she expertly got that energy/water moving as she pumped the lymph nodes. I felt continuously better with our following two sessions. Between appointments, I did some motions she'd shown me to continue to move the energy/water around and some additional breath work I found on YouTube.

Sophia is a true healer — her knowledge of body systems is extensive and her style is wonderful — gentle and sure. If you feel stagnant energy in your body, have lingering COVID symptoms, or want to understand how to better harmonize your systems, I cannot recommend Sophia enough.

I am so happy to recommend Sophia as a Pilates instructor par excellence! I am currently taking both classes and private sessions with her and can attest to her capacity to create a warm, caring and inviting space in both individual and group settings. I am amazed at how quickly my body is changing and how my brain/body coherence steadily expands.
