This is our go-to breakfast place now because of how good it is. The waitress is prompt and kind. She welcomes you like you are a dear friend, even if it’s your first visit! The food is reasonably priced and cooked fresh to order. I’ve tried most of the menu over my visits and I haven’t had anything bad. That means a lot because my friends and family would consider me a bit of a foodie.
It’s popular with the locals so occasionally you have to wait a little bit. The waitlist is a whiteboard you write your name on and they are very careful to seat you in the order you arrive!

Highly recommend!

Was here visiting, and found this gem! I stayed only 6 days and ate here two times, both were a fantastic experience. Very welcoming staff and fantastic food. I can’t say enough good things. Lovely people here.

It's such a fantastic little Greasy Spoon!
Be sure to stop by if you're passing through Rapid City! The line can be long, especially on the weekends, but it's worth the wait. The waitresses are awesome and hustle to get everyone fed.
The corned beef hash is one-of-a-kind. When I ordered it, I was expecting a more crunchy, burnt-ends kind of corned beef hash. Yet, to my surprise, it was almost like a pancake made of potatoes, corned beef, and rich, white gravy. It's hard to explain...I'm probably not doing it any justice. 😅 If you're reading this, please don't think, "a corned beef pancake??" No, no, no...think: thick hashbrown with meat and gravy. There. Hopefully, I've cleared that up 😬🤣.
Better yet, just try it...it is absolutely delicious and unique!

Very good food, portion sizes and great pricing. Get there early, very popular place with a very small seating area. Expect a 30+minute wait for a table. Overall it is still worth it.

Ron's Cafe has very good food. Gypsy has a hot beef dinner and I had the chicken Fried Steak. Both were very good. The Cafe is quite unusual and the wall decorations are very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We met Ron and I have included a photo. The next time we are in the area we will definitely stop by for a meal.

Whatever magic they put in their corned beef hash, its freaking amazing! It's one of Rapid City's hidden gems. Waitresses were awesome and attentive. The place is somewhat small so you may wait a little while for a seat. More so on weekends than midmorning on a week day.

Wow! What a place! Definitely worth a stop or two or three!! Food and service was outstanding! The outside looks like a car garage and you just might drive right on by looking for the place. Parking is in back or on the side. A couple spots in front but that's in case you missed the back and side like I did. Or if you know where to go they could be your first choice. Interior is a blast from the past...the 50s diner past. Memorabilia from past menus to historical photos to LPs and hub caps of cars long ago. Small diner with great food. You must not pass this up!

Had the double bacon cheeseburger, chili, Neffla soup. ...all fresh ingredients. Burger was fresh, hand made not frozen. Also had Ghoulash? Wow. ....very nice! Susie was a great waitress even tho it was hopping. All home made here. And the place has been remodeled recently. Breakfast is great as well. You can get anything, anytime off the menu.

Great little mom and pop hole in the wall. The biscuits and gravy are amazing. Adorable, great service, very welcoming. The portions are great for the prices. Definitely give this place a try.

Great experience in a very quirky little Cafe that is only open for breakfast and lunch. Ron is a real guy and cooks all the food. Prices were reasonable and so was the food. It is out of the way and in an odd little building with parking in the rear.

Great local Cafe! Ron is very friendly and it is apparent this restaurant is his passion! I ordered the Breakfast Bowl and it was filled with perfectly grilled potatoes, sausage gravey and cheese with a golden biscuit. Delightful to the tastebuds and filling for my tummy! Ron has a drive-up window for pickup.

Upon entering (from the side :), you walk into a museum of great old memorabilia-nothing fancy, real life toys, games, music, etc. Took us back! An old menu on the wall had handwritten prices- $1.40 B.L.T, $0.90 cheeseburger! Just wow!!! We think Ron himself sat us at our table! Our waitress Lorna was AWESOME! We asked questions, and she had answers for everything! Bless her heart for being so patient! She knew we were not local hahaha! Loved her…. She lost a step when she started to question us being Cowboys fans, but she quickly made up lost ground when she said she did not like the Eagles! Hahaha! This place was all that and more! Hole-in-the-wall for sure and definitely worth going back!

We ordered:
Breakfast bowl— the sliced potatoes in this plate were to die for or at least break every diet created!

Hot Hamburger w/fries instead of mashed potatoes-brown gravy…
***did not get pics but the plates were empty!***

Breakfast Burrito- just wow!

2eggs, hashbrowns, toast- added crispy bacon, and the gravy from breakfast bowl!

** I am a ketchup on hb &eggs kinda girl, but Ketchup did not touch this plate! THAT is how good the food was!!!*^

What a gem! Ron's Cafe is open 7-2, Monday thru Friday only. Make sure you catch it during the week. Quaint little locally-owned spot with AMAZING food. When you walk in the door, you are met with a self-serve wait list. Grab a marker and add your name & number in your party to the bottom of the list! I loved it! After one visit, Lorna our waitress, remembered us and what we ordered when we were there. Most of the customers are local regulars. Their menus are chalkboards on the wall. Prices include tax. They have a great children's menu as well. Don't expect quick food. This stuff is homemade. Recommend the pancakes, corned beef hash or the everything omelet.
