Outdoor pool. Laundry room, snacks and coffee in the lobby. Very friendly staff. We needed a fan for our room and the staff located us one and it was brought to us within minutes! The bed was comfortable and very clean. Along with the entire cabin

We only got to stay at this site for one night on our way into Custer South Dakota in September of 2023. The site was absolutely beautiful, and the check in people were so nice. They allowed us to stay an hour and a half extra the next day which helped us very much. When we have more time we will definitely be back to camp at HTR.

We stayed at HTR Black Hills in a motorhome. Our motorhome has satellite and the site we were assigned had trees blocking the signal. Laura that works in the office was so helpful in letting us move to a site that we could receive signal. We really appreciated that!

Very family friendly. We stayed in a cabin and enjoyed our stay there in the evenings as we were mostly sight seeing throughout the day. It was still quiet enough to come back and catch an afternoon nap when we needed one. Other guests we met were friendly too. Employees were kind as well. Loved our little cabin. We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the 7 persons bunkhouse in july. The staff was very friendly. The resort is good with enough privacy. The kids enjoyed the playground, minigolf and horseshoe pitching. The location was close to all the spots we wanted to visite. Recommended!

This is a campground and some cabins. We camped, and the pull-thru sites are wonderful. There are a lot of trees, easy to maneuver, and the hook-ups were easy to use. The office has everything anyone needs and the staff are very friendly.

We LOVED our week long stay here! All the staff was SUPER friendly. They were very quick to help out. Took us right to our spot, helped back in the camper and delivered firewood within minutes of us calling to request it. Bathrooms and Laundry were very clean and super nice to have on site. The texts every morning and evening about breakfast and other amenities were nice too. Great location with lots of trees for shade and lots to do close by. Only complaint I would have is the highway noise but it wasn't terrible. Next time I will request to to be in the back area if we are staying for a longer period of time again. We will be back again though I am sure.

My family of 6 stayed in the bunkhouse cabin for a 3 night stay and loved it! The cabin is older, but everything worked. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We also used the laundry room. All grounds and common areas were clean and well maintained. The Pancake breakfast was a great deal! Overall, I would highly recommend American Buffalo Resort and would gladly stay again!

This is an excellent campground, bathhouse was always clean, pool hours were extended, playground and mini golf were nice to have, staff was friendly. We were about 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore, 1 hour from windcave and jewel cave, 2 hours from devils tower, the city was nice with breweries and restaurants. All in all had a fantastic time here.

I spent the night here with my kids. We really enjoyed the pool and they also liked the mini golf. We stayed in a little cabin and everything was really nice. The place seems well run. My only suggestion is it would be nice if you added blackout or darker curtains as it was really bright with the security light on outside.

Had our own rv. Plenty spacious pull thru. Front office was very helpful. Only draw back was not enough washer and dryers for the campground.

Super friendly staff. Very clean restrooms, pool and hot tub. Loved being close to everything on our “to do” list for the week but still felt like we were at a real campground and not a big parking lot. Would highly recommend this campground.

Ladies at the front were always very friendly and helpful which we have noticed is rare here in rapid city. They made check in very easy for us! Their store has lots of things that people might have forgotten which makes it very accommodating. We got a spot way in the back which was awesome and quiet. All the employees are just friendly people. Jeff went beyond expectations to help us out when we discovered that our a/c didn't work. We love this place and will be back!!

The family and I stayed here to be close to the stratobowl for the annual hot air balloon festival. The cabin was small but very cozy and recently remodeled. The staff were friendly and overall the experience was very nice and would definitely stay again. My only complaint was the mattress was pretty rough.

Stayed several nights at the campground in 2020. It was beautiful, clean, quiet, wildlife was frequently seen, and was affordable. It is offers ease of access to Mt. Rushmore and Rapid City.

This place is amazing! A little pricey compared to some however, you are paying for location. A couple shower facilities and laundry rooms spread throughout the park. Lots of trees in the park which is located in the foothills of the Black Hills. Amazing staff! The staff leads you into your spot and assists with parking. Ice and wood delivered to your spot. Near Custer state park, MT. Rushmore, and many other attractions. A short drive down the hill is Rapid City. Love, love this place! Unfortunately not open year round. We will be back!

We went for the weekend. Had a great spot. Loved the layout. Spots are tiered so you are not looking in your neighbors window. Nice pool. Mini golf and basketball hoop. I absolutely loved the text message system. A welcome message, breakfast times and menu, delivery of firewood and marshmallows made for happy campers! I will be back. I do want to add a note. The night sky was amazing, but not good for dog walking. It was pitch black. Bring a flashlight. Saw some construction, hoping a dog park is being planned. :)

If you’re in the area, or even 30 minutes away, STAY HERE! The best campground I’ve ever been too! Called to see about a tent site, the lady on the phone was extremely professional & very friendly. We booked over the phone and arrived an hour later. She was beyond nice when we arrived, brining us our packet & telling us all the services they offered. There is a mini golf course for free out front, along with basketball hoops & horseshoe, a playground, pool, & hot tub! If we ever come back to the area we will be staying here for sure! The view of the stars is extremely gorgeous through the trees. The best place I’ve camped by far!
