Knecht Lumber & Distribution of Rapid City

We found Knecht through a few locals who said they provide the best quality building materials at reasonable prices. Jaysen Dugan was the gentleman I worked directly with and who ensured every aspect of our deck project was coordinated seamlessly. Our deck project was fairly large as we wanted all four sides of our home to have decking. The front and back sides of our home are 64' and the depth is 32' so LOTS of materials needed. Jaysen put us in contact with reputable deck builders who serviced our area. We are SO GRATEFUL to Jaysen for his dedication to ensuring we had everything we needed to get our deck completed with the quality we requested.

We will continue working with Knecht on other projects as we complete our home in Argyle, SD.

We rented a log splitter over the weekend and had excellent customer service from the moment we walked in to the day we dropped it off. Chelsea was very friendly and knowledgeable. Had help from other staff with hookup and drop off. Very much appreciated! I highly recommend this place!

Great selection of lumber. It's nice to have a real lumber yard where they stock many different varieties of lumber. Much better than the typical Big Box lumber store. The service was great when I was there. Maybe some of the complainers just aren't familiar with lumber yards where professionals shop.

Had some special project to do and the guys in the yard were extremely helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help me out, thanks guys 👍

Associates are very knowledgeable friendly if they don't have it they can usually tell you where you can find it I've been dealing with them for years and I don't believe I've ever had a problem

They had the siding I needed. The other stores in town had to order they had it on hand.

First come first serve starting at 7am. Overnight parking on street is probably ok.
