This lady is simply amazing. There are no other words for her! She has performed all of my animals surgeries and I would trust her with my life! She recently did a tumor removal for my 22 year old cat. I was extremely worried the morning of dropping her off to the point where I was crying and Dr. Trautman sat with me and talked me through it and was there for me during this extremely worrisome time. So not only is she a great pet person, but she is a great people person too. I am very appreciative and thankful for all of the careful, thorough care of my animals that she performs. My 22 year old cat is now healed, feeling better and actually putting on some weight. She is my go to for anything serious with my animals and I wouldn’t trust anybody else. And on top of that her prices are amazing! I’m a broke nursing college student and her prices make it affordable for me. I can’t explain how lovely this lady is, and how amazing she is with my animals. If you’re looking for a vet, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Trautman!

I just made the horrible mistake of not taking my new kitty here. I wish I did. I have taken my animals here for years with amazing experience, but this time I thought I would go somewhere else because it was more convenient as I now live farther away. Never again! I'll drive the distance because my pets deserve the amazing care West Winds provides with very affordable prices. I have recommended you to everyone I know, and will continue to do so!

I took my babygirl Hazel in last week to get spayed and once I got there I felt an immediate sense of relief. It was clean, professional and the prices you cannot beat here in the city!! The Doc & 2 ladies at the front were extremely kind, genuine and helpful! Just hearing their voices made me believe that they actually CARE about animals unlike a lot of places here that rush you in and out. I was so afraid for my dog (from experiences with other vets here) but West Winds made this spay breeze by and I felt at ease knowing my girl Hazel would be okay. She’s doing great and has been healing fast! They are definitely my top Vet clinic in Rapid City. I will continue to go back to them from now on!

Someone referred us to this place as we were new in town. The staff is super friendly and the wait is never long. They have been operating during covid and still running the business exceptionally well. We appreciate all that you do for our pets and appreciate that you've stayed open to see our pets. I started using West Winds after a friend referred them and have been very happy with all levels of service. We recently had one of our dogs go into cluster seizures. I go to West Winds for all my pets needs. I recently went last week for my poor Kitty who sprained his shoulder. The vet is so nice and attentive. She absolutely loves all the animals that come in. I would never take my pets anywhere else.

We have been going to West Winds since we moved to Rapid. We’ve received excellent pet care from spaying at the beginning of our cats’ lives to when it’s ultimately time for them to move on to the next stage. They are compassionate and affordable.

I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Troutman and her staff at West Winds. I have had all three of my Pugs go to her for well over a decade. Dr. Troutman ACTUALLY cares. Just look around her property and she all the rescues she has. She is not in it for the money I can tell you that. The prices compared to fellow veterinary services in this area are CRAZY AFFORDABLE at West Winds. Animals are her passion. She was blessed with a bright brain and a beautiful bright Light. Rapid City is very lucky to have West Winds. I refer EVERYONE here. Jimmy Cricket, Dewey, and Tubby could not be or have been more thankful for all the love and quality care they have received here.

We love west winds vets! They take excellent care of our animals and our animals like being there. We have a cat that no other vet can handle and say he's mean. West winds vet handles him like a champ and has no problems!

We have had some animals with issues that we have unfortunately had to put down as their diseases progressed. Dr. Trautman allowed us to be in the room and comfort our animals through the process which really helped with the grieving process and it was wonderful. When we have anyone asking for a vet I always recommend them.
