Finding Dr. Coats & Staff at TMJ Plus is directly responsible for a renewed quality of life. I came with jaw popping & pain, limited mouth opening, & jaw locking. Upon completion of the comprehensive Oral Evaluation appt., I had confidence TMJ Plus really understands the difference between 'fear of oral pain' and a true 'heightened sensitivity of oral pain'. The Review Consultation confirmed a complete resolution plan for my issues and I left with something I thought was not attainable; HOPE. With their assurances, I utilized the instructional exercise videos with the squishy balls.Though reluctant, I was successful in progressively doing the exercises. My next office visit, I was so proud of my progress, I opened my mouth widely (without strain) and it was a 'show & tell' moment at the reception desk! I have been suffering from TMJ disorder for 33 years now and have seen a multitude of doctors, have had MANY oral appliances made, and have spent THOUSANDS of dollars, to no avail! I was at the point of giving up and accepting that I will continue to be a chronic pain sufferer for the rest of my life, but then, I found Dr. Coats and her amazing staff! Today, after approximately 2 months of treatment and yet another set of oral appliances, I think it is safe to say that I am 50% better today and on the road to having a better quality of life! First of all, I want to say, I actually look forward to doctor visits for the first time in my life, because I feel seen, heard, and extremely cared for by every single person who works at TMJ Plus. I have suffered from lifelong chronic illnesses stemming from TMJ issues, and i always thought it was something I just had to live with. Dr. Coats and staff have made me see that there is another way!! From my very first appointment, it was clear that this place cares about my entire health. Dr. Coats listened to me and took images and confirmed that what I was experiencing was real, and that she could help me resolve it. I have had a lip tie procedure done and am wearing mouth guards that are improving the room in my mouth and the position of my jaw. In just a few months, I've seen vast improvements in my posture, pain, and sleep. I even noticed I no longer have a tilt to my head on my zoom calls!
My recent xray follow up revealed I am indeed creating space between my jaw and skull and increasing my airway flow. I cried tears of joy over the results I'm seeing so far, and I know I'm going to continue to improve with my upcoming tongue tie release and additional time in my mouth guards. I can't put into words the joy Dr. Coats and her staff have given me. I started seeing Dr. Coats and her staff in 2021. Since starting TMJ treatment my life has changed so much! I was in pain 7 days a week, tired and unable to take care of myself and my family I’m prayed to Jehovah send me the right help and After seeing Dr.Coats and her staff, I’m fully functional for my self and family. I wanted to share my wonderful experience at TMJ+ at the hands of Dr. Coats and Dr. Bell. They prepared me for as well as performed my guided lip tie and cheek tie releases. They were incredibly informative throughout my consultations, body work, and pre-op appointments. Going into the procedure, I felt calm, cared for, and mentally prepared.

Throughout the procedure, they were very mindful of any discomfort that I may experience, and did everything to ensure the process was as painless and smooth as possible. It was so cool seeing how Dr. Bell played a role in the guided release so Dr. Coats could be as effective as possible and get as much tissue taken care of that could be causing tension.

Dr. Coats and her team truly are top notch from their expertise and experience all the way to their chair-side manner. I could not recommend them highly enough for anyone experiencing orofacial or other dental/TMJ related problems. The holistic approach they take and their thoroughness is incredible.

My experience at TMJ Plus has truly been life changing. It wasn’t until after I started TMJ therapy with Dr. Coats and her staff that I realized how much pain I had been living with for the past 10 years. Her and her staff have incredible knowledge and a deep understanding of how TMJ affects one’s life. I absolutely recommend TMJ Plus to anyone who is dealing with any type of jaw issues.

I’ve had a great experience receiving treatment at TMJ Plus Wellness Center with Doctor Becky Coats and her staff! I recently had my tongue-tie and lip-tie releases and I can’t say enough good things about what the results have done for me. The releases have allowed me to breath better especially while sleeping. The tongue-tie release has also given me a larger range of motion in my neck. I use to fill strain/restrain when turning my neck in either left or right direction however after my tongue-tie release, I’ve felt more free in motion with much less strain. Additionally I use to have a very weak jaw line and the tongue-tie release I think has helped given more definition to my jaw line by allowing my tongue to properly sit more elevated and at the roof of my mouth. I’m extremely pleased with the procedure and would highly recommended it to anyone suffering from tongue-tie/lip-tie constraints. Thank you Dr. Becky Coats and Staff at TMJ Plus!

2 weeks ago I had a tongue tie release by Dr. Coats. I feel a real difference in the tension on the side of my head. No more headaches in the morning! Bonus benefit: I play pickleball regularly and had been suffering from a very sore achilles tendon. Since the tongue tie release, my achilles tension pain is nearly gone! Amazing!

Recently my gums have been swelling and they gave me the dental probiotics they recommend and they were a game changer! The first thing I noticed about Dr. Becky Coats and the TMJ Center was the "human touch" they exhibit. I have suffered with TMJ for longer than I care to recall. Finding them restored my quality of life.

My list of issues included horrific jaw pain, tension, headaches, tinnitus, back, neck and shoulder pain, just to mention a few. At times it felt as if someone was trying to pull my face off my skull. I could not turn my head left to right or nod like a normal person. My diet was extremely poor. No physical or social activities due to constant pain. All this while receiving ill treatment from another doctor via botox injections that only masked the issue and made it worse.

My turning point came one evening when my BFF took me to a Christian rock concert, Michael Sweet. I was in agonizing pain standing for over two hours in a crowd. At the end of the show Michael Sweet walked to the front of the stage and was handing out pocket bibles and inviting people to accept the Lord as their savior. Being a Christian I started to pray for them. Then he said while pointing to people "because everyone deserves a second chance, yes, you and you!", he looked directly at me and said "and certainly you!", I froze.

That evening I got home and cried. Fighting thoughts of ending my life, yes that bad, I knew that there had to be a better way. At 2:00 AM I began to search for TMJ specialist in my area and that is when I found Dr. Becky Coats. I filled the online form and at 8: 00 AM Desiray called from the TMJ Center. That was the moment my life changed completely.

I went to my appointment a few days later and after two weeks I was able to eat small amounts of soft food. The diagnostics, therapy, exercises and treatment are unbelievably effective! Dr. Coats and her staff are an amazing group of people who care and they themselves by personal experience, know EXACTLY what you are going through which makes the journey so much easier.

If you read this do not wait to make you appointment. I am 10 months into my treatment and May 23, 2023, I went sky diving. I have been mountain climbing, workout 4-5 times a week, jog, kickbox, and can kiss my boyfriend. My life is awesomely amazing! Yours can be too 😉💖

I just finished my treatment for TMJ and I am so thankful I found Dr. Becky Coats. I came in with having jaw pain and having trouble eating because my jaw was locking. Through all the sessions I was able to eat normally and not worry about my jaw locking and popping every time I opened my mouth. I was also able to sleep better because the appliances opened up my airways which I didn’t even realize were narrowed because of my jaw. I am so thankful for Dr. Becky Coats and her team!

Just finished with phase one. The results were great, I feel a lot better and my posture improved. I don’t have migraines and I could see difference in my face appearance. I had so much facial tension so I had to see a myofunctional therapist/chiropractor. Along with the orthotic appliance , my face has been more relaxed and it’s noticeable when I look in the mirror. Dr. Coats is someone I feel like I can trust. I can tell she is smart and knows a lot about the Tmj. I have met an orthodontist before that did not pay much attention to my tmj and bone structures the way dr coats does so I am glad she treated me and shows the care I wanna see.

Dr. Coats and her staff are amazing! I started going here for severe jaw pain that my old dentist could not help with. They were able to fit me into their schedule quickly and got my jaw stabilized in about 6 months and I'm pretty much pain free 100% of the time.
I also had a tongue tie release with Dr. Coats & Dr Barker. After the release, I no longer had tense shoulders, my right knee felt better, and I had more range of motion in neck. They answered all of questions/concerns and the release and healing process went great.

I just had my semi-annual cleaning done at Grapevine Dental Care and, as usual, I can say that I love everyone in this office!! Rochelle is very detailed in the cleaning and Dr. Coats is very thorough in her examination. I've had a few procedures done in the past at this office and they give me options as to which procedures to have and are never pushy. I know that I can trust them and that I will always be treated fairly and with respect! Can't say enough great things about them!!!

Dr. Coats is very caring and through giving the whole experience a friendly and very professional feel. I feel confident my oral health is good hands! Rochelle is so easy and gentle while doing an outstanding job of cleaning and all other aspects of the dental checkup I think she's absolutely outstanding and highly recommend her!!!
