Texas General Store

These wonderful people go out of their way to help you. They are so friendly and customer-oriented, and they stand by their products. This is the way customer service should be! BTW, I highly recommend the praline pecans. Delicious!

As a general rule of thumb, I reserve 5-star ratings for restaurants and hotels, establishments where I can expect to receive some semblance of customer service via a tourism or hospitality experience. Yet, in the case of Texas General Store, the overall time spent there was most enjoyable.

As you'll see from the photos I included, even the storefront was very much intact. I didn't find one iota of debris littered about. I didn't see cigarette butts or gum or common trash anywhere (things one might expect to find at a such a place as this) For a store to call itself a "general store," the owners/management take their presentation and representation of the establishment very seriously!

That would include the interior of the store, too! Everything appeared to be in order. And by in order, I mean...IN ORDER! Did I mention that everything on the interior of the store was placed decently and in order?! If I didn't mention that already, I'm mentioning it now!

There wasn't a shirt misplaced or mislabeled or folded improperly. Every item that was hanging from a hook on the wall was neatly and adequately placed. All of the knick knacks and figurines that one might buy for a souvenir were equidistant and properly displayed. The floor was very clean and swept. The trash that I did see was not overrun, either.

And most importantly: The young lady, whose name I can't recall, was very pleasant at the counter! She was small and petite with blond hair, and very friendly! (Perhaps that description will help the owners know who I'm referring to). But, she even took the time to answer any and all questions I had, and made some recommendations of items I might consider purchasing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept a smile on her face the entire time I was there with my friend. Yes. If you're ever in Grapevine, Texas, have a free moment, and are looking for some souvenirs to take back with you, this is definitely the store you should visit!

This store had many funny shirts, spicy popcorn snacks (habanero, Sriracha, and Carolina Reaper flavored just to name a few), Texas stuff, hot sauces, and more! The staff were really friendly and knew all the cool places to visit in the area! Stop on by if you like spicy stuff, it's worth the trip!

This place deserves 5-stars, the store is well-maintained and really enjoyable to shop in. I got some bags of rocks and the amount I got for 5 dollars was really good. Definitely will return.

Oh my gush, I loved this store. We were awaiting for my husband's new car getting detailed, so decided to venture into the town of Grapevine. It's a general store Texas size. Found a few neat things and good old items that brought back my childhood memory from New York where there was an old general store older than 100 yrs. What a surprise finding!

The things are cute and unique. The owner is fantastic and did an amazing job helping us decide where to eat, showing us menus from all the local restaurants and giving enough insight to make a decision without pushing you in a direction.

I liked this place so much I had to go back for one more look before I go back to Florida. Turns out in just a few more days, the whole street will be all decked out for Christmas. Looks like one more visit is in my future.
